Excellent service -- hostess and waitstaff were friendly, courteous and attentive. Fabulous food -- we came for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp & grits and the french toast. Love the vibe and the decor! Would definitely dine here again.
HOT DAY ON AND NO AC. It was 93 degrees and humid and rest has no air. I love this rest. but has an ac issue. Last time the ac was on it dripped into your food so we had to move our plates over.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience here today. The food and drink were so good and the service was amazing! Thanks again for a great experience! We will be back!
Drinks were very expensive, and food portions which-in the past-were formidable are now... not so much. Overall I spent a lot of money for not enough.
Even though we told the waiter we had to leave for a show around the corner by 7:15, he asked if I wanted another drink at 7:07. The food took over a half hour to appear so we had to shove 3 bites into our faces so we could be timely.
I'll never stop dreaming about that mushroom toast and banana french toast.
Waiter was spectacular. Food was very good—I would have preferred a fluffier waffle with my fried chicken (too dense) but otherwise everything was great. Would absolutely recommend!
Delicious biscuits, mushroom toast and grits. The service was prompt and friendly.
Great for weekend brunch. Nice atmosphere.
Arrived just before 4 for happy hour- waitress was getting ready to go off shift and was sloowwww to assist us (and not worried about showing us we were no priority). Pitchers offered for HH are fun and the right size for sharing for two. Best part of this place is how quiet/calm it is at that time of day- you can have an actual conversation.
Thankfully took reservations on Mother's Day and no pre-fixe fan fare. Yummy food, casual vibe. Can't complian.
Fantastic cocktails and amazing brunch options. The chicken and waffles; biscuits and gravy; and the shrimp and grits were all exceptional.
Wonderful place! Will go again
Escarole salad and shrimp and grits were excellent. Great service and drinks. Relatively quiet night there. Sometimes it can be noisy, especially in the front bar area.
The BEST comfort food place in NYC!! The hush puppies were so light and airy- not to heavy as a snack. The biscuits ... TO DIE FOR! Highly recommended.
We came here for dinner one night to celebrate her birthday. We had a wonderful time. The place was perfect for get together. The music is not too loud and we can talk without screaming & you can hear each other no problem. We had an amazing waiter that night. He was so attentive & very helpful. The food was good and the service was great. The only downside was a little pricey.
Unique atmosphere. Food was good but hush puppies needed a touch of salt. Very generous portions. Husband has chicken and biscuit and I had shrimp and grits. Both delicious. Favorite side was the Brussel sprouts . Ordered ice tea but it was terrible!! Being a southerner, I know good ice tea! With a menu that has comfort food, you need ice tea!
Delicious food and cocktails, really cute place ❤️
Food was good and the staff really lovely, but it’s noisy AF during brunch, making conversation really difficult. Wish they would turn down the music and work on improving the acoustics.
Love the service, cocktails and food here, but the kitchen got swamped at brunch and the grits came out cool. The server handled it well and the meal ended up very good. Will try again at dinner.
I had a great time with my friends. Great food. Great service. It was noisy, but I it wasn't a big deal to us. We had a lot of fun!!!! Price were not cheap but also not expensive. I wanted to seat couch seat, but I couldn't. Anyway I love here's food. Especially chicken and biscuit!!! I'd like to come here again:)
Totally enjoyed Sunday brunch before attending Tribeca Film Festival. Attentive service, scrumptious mushroom toast. Don’t miss the Bloody Mary that comes with a crispy slice of bacon. Will def return!
Great brunch with fun takes on Southern cuisine. We had the avocado toast and shrimp & grits, both very good, generous portions. Excellent Bloody Marys but expensive relative to other brunch menus.
Tipsy Parson has a great vibe, unique decor and friendly staff. The chive biscuit with avocado mash and the fried pickles were all delicious, especially washed down with a pitcher of the Tipsy Palmers (lemon, tea, mint and vodka).
We have been to the Tipsy many times and for whatever reason it seems to have improved. The staff - always nice - could not have been nicer and more helpful (we had theater tickets and hence on a schedule) - the foos even better than usual. For the first time I tried one of their house cocktails - one of the best manhattans I have ever had
Love the Low Country vibe of this place. Bustling, upbeat, chatty. Excellent brunch fare. Friendly service. An excellent western Chelsea find.
Nice sense of ambience and environment.
Chose this place after reading reviews online... the place is very nice, service was good but the food was just ok...the food sounds great on the menu but we had burnt food, undercooked chicken and cold stuff as well. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place to friends.
Our party was running very late for our Sunday morning reservation and the hostess was incredibly accommodating. The food was brought to the table quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal.
One friend had the Mac and Cheese (it's her usual order). I shared the mushroom toast and the avocado toast with another friend. Our food came out quickly, our water was refilled multiple times. It was a delicious brunch.
Make a reservation!
Amazing food and great service! This southern girl approves of the biscuits and grits! Delish! Would comeback for sure! Staff was welcoming a friendly!
Some of the best food in all of NYC!!!
Our friend Art recommended this local restaurant and we were very happy he did. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Wonderful cocktail list. Nice selection of comforting dishes. We shared all plates: a lovely salad with crunch and feta cheese, mac and cheese, hush puppies, deviled eggs, fried chicken, chicken liver mousse, delicata squash and feta, shrimp and grits, biscuits. I would go back again. Seems a great place to go after gallery hopping.
Amazing place! We all loved it. There are a binch of good vegetarian options
Easy to find location. Amazing service and delicious food. I also appreciate that our server acknowledged the food allergy I noted in the reservation. I will definitely be back for brunch again!
Just amazing. Service was fantastic and the food was to die for!
Another great brunch with friends at this Chelsea destination. The biscuits and gravy and the double burger are exceptional while the drinks and the service are superior to many.
I came with children who had never before eaten at a restaurant other than fast food ones. The staff treated them just as they would have any other patron and I was very grateful for their respect and kindness.
Our waiter was so sweet (and funny), the food was delicious, and the owner gave us an extra dessert on the house.
Pleasant spot for brunch, food is clever version of southern comfort, great biscuits and grits, deviled eggs, awesome coffee. Would go back with a group of six and sit at a booth in the back. Attentive service.
Terrific brunch menu featuring classic southern standbys and delicious riffs on traditional brunch beverages. The Queen Mary (a bloody made with whiskey), the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese biscuit all highly recommended!
