Tio's Mexican Cafe
Arrived early and brought to our desired outside table. Server was very accommodating, provided space to have our conversation without feeling rushed. She provided appetizer and entree recommendations. Courses were well presented and phased.
The food is excellent - guacamole is the best. Also, the margaritas are divine.
Great place to hang out. The tableside guac prep results in great custom guac! All the menu items were delicious spicy margaritas have a nice real pepper flavor. Only wish is better veg/vegan options.
Not bad, not great. Pretty typical Mexican food. I will say that the sangria was quite good.
Meh. There used to be several Tio's in town. Now there's just one. There's a reason for that.
Fantastic food and service! Our table wasn't the best but that was still okay with us.
We had a party of nine reservation, all went well, food and service were great!
Good food. Good service. Great drinks. Margaritas are outstanding. Mexican pizza is great
Went there as a group of 8 and had a very pleasant experience! The guacamole made table-side is AMAZING - best ever - and the other menu items were very good as well. I recommend the Papas taco. :) Prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food, and the ambiance was very nice - very Mexico-y... a fun place. Would definitely go back and recommend.
Tios is fantastic Mexican food delivered by experienced, capable and friendly servers. Sarah was awesome. Food is always solid and often they will have Mexican styled dishes (swordfish) that vary the typical fare, which they do very well. Best Margaritas in town!
I’m on a mission to find the best fish tacos in the area. Tios is currently the best because they are lightly fried cod in a soft corn tortilla. Also tested four other places. La Taqueria is in a distant 2nd. They use grilled mahi mahi in a soft corn tortilla. The service and cleanliness is good. Tacos are a good price. Drinks are a bit expensive.
Arrived early for our reservation and my husband and I were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. Will definitely be returning!
Drinks and dinner before a show. Very affordable and really good. Service was great too!
Always delicious and fresh, service is helpful and friendly, and the margaritas are cold and full of tequila! One of my family's favorites.
Nothing unusual from a typical American-Mexican experience except for Duck tacos.
We love Tio’s. The food is always great and the staff is attentive! The shakes are EXCELLENT
We loved sampling the salsa options, and the guacamole made table-side was amazing and 100% fresh. I am glad that I made reservations, as the restaurant filled up quickly on a Friday evening. We had a great dinner and will definitely return!
Great tequila menu and delicious tacos make this a great choice while in downtown Ann Arbor. They make the guacamole tableside and it’s delicious.
Tio's is an Ann Arbor favorite! Great drinks and food! The alacart tacos and strawberry margaritas are such a perfect combination. Also, they make the fresh guac right infront of you, too!
It was nice to sit outside and visit while we tackled mount nacheesemo.
Great restaurant for adults and kids. An Ann Arbor institution that doesn’t feel dated like many of their counterparts on Main Street. Staff is super nice and very accommodating of our large group with last second additions. They charge for chips and salsa which is a little unique to them and is the one place where they might need to relook.
The food quality has changed. This was once one of my favorite spots. The last few times I have been disappointed. The queso is so watered down now it’s soup. Our server told us no more table side guacamole and within 15 minutes someone at a different table was getting the service. I don’t get it.
We had a reservation for 10 people, we ended up having 13 people with us. They sat us outside at a table for 8, that was no big deal, we didn't mind being close. The problem was that 2 people in our party did not have chairs, we asked several times for two additional chairs and were told they had none and when the table next to us left we could get those. We were lucky enough that another large group was sat next to us and when a member of their party left they gave us the seats. For more than half of out meal we had two people sitting on the ground outside unable to participate in conversation or eat because they were to low. Service and food was ok, the way they handled the seating was not.
Love Tio's. In town for my son's University of Michigan graduation and enjoyed the margaritas and shrimp tacos. They also have great guacamole that they make at your table - and serve with warm homemade chips - excellent! Definitely recommend making a reservation as they are always busy.
very good food....could enjoy my company didnt feel rushed
The service was horrible. Food is overpriced for what you get and doesn't taste great! Will never go back.
Excellent food. Service was a little slow, but the food made up for it. Would definitely recommend and return.
Waitress was extremely rude, she hardly came to provide us with any help throughout.
We needed a quick meal to get to a movie on the same block as Tios. It was hard getting service, we twice had to get the host to get our waitress, we were told to order from the a la carte menu for quick service. It took 35 minutes from when we ordered to get a simple Chicken Quesadilla, which we took away in a box. It was bland and simple...and the price was too high!
Sorry, this place used to be better.....
Great location for a quick (or leisurely) dinner before going to the Michigan or State Theaters. Consistent with our previous experiences, service was excellent. Guacamole, prepared at the table, was excellent. My friend had the Sangria, which they make in house, and said it was REALLY good.
