Chef Lynden Zuniga grew up in Honduras, CA and worked in kitchens through high school to pay rent. He quickly realized making people happy through his cooking would be his lifelong passion. Shortly after marrying his wife Sally, they dreamt of their concept of Tio's and in 2018 it became a reality!

Quality matters. We're committed to serve the highest quality steak, pork, chicken, and seafood. Our proteins are always fresh- sourced locally and domestically across the United States.

You'll hear the sizzle of the grill in our open kitchen as each meal is made to order. Pairing our high-quality proteins with our delicious salsas and vegetables, rice, beans, and tortillas is a winning combination. We pride ourselves on making great tasting food made with simple ingredients.

Tios is great food and the Shelter cove location is great! Sometimes service can be off but the service, drinks, chips, salsa, queso and everyone’s meals were fantastic!

Entering the restaurant we were overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning supplies. Should have left then because the smell permeated the entire meal. The tamales were barely filled and tasted as though they were previously frozen. The salsa served with chips was extremely salty. Mustache margarita was outstanding but not enough to make us consider going back.

I have a 1 star for the service…. Not because of our server…. It was because of the bar and kitchen!!!! We waited 45 minutes for our cocktails and the bartender continued to put agave in my margarita when I asked for NO agave ( I’m a diabetic)…. So disappointed! 🥴

No idea why they had a super loud disc jockey no one could understand that made it impossible to talk. Put us at an inside table directly in the sun and the AC wasn’t working well. No fan. Service very slow. Very nice server said it was hard for them to work with the noise and the heat. Food was excellent.

It was very hot in there, we sat in an area where the sun was beating down on us. They really should have some type of shards or window coverings to cool it down. The server didn’t use cocktail napkins and our table was pool of water. I ordered the steak burrito and the steak was so fatty that I couldn’t eat it.

Terrible service, mediocre food, dirty restaurant. The AC vent mounted to the ceiling was dripping condensation on me for the duration of the meal. Include 20% gratuity for a party of 8? We have 6 kids in my family, what a ridiculous concept. The server could not have been worse imo - she did not deserve any tip. If it was free, we would not go back- don’t recommend.

This place was the absolute best Mexican Food I have ever eaten. The queso cheese dip was amazing and this place had the best salsa dip on the East coast. Everything we ordered was perfect. This will definitely be a place we come back to every year we come to Hilton Head.

The restaurant accepted a reservation for 8 but could not seat our party together, instead requiring us to sit split up at two different tables. Then, the server was very terse and not cordial at all. She was spread too thin across many tables to provide proper service.

We had a great dinner at Tio’s. Four of us ordered different entrees, and we were all very happy with our meals. Mojito was one of the best I’ve had on the island. Location was perfect. Unfortunately, the concert at Shelter Cove was cancelled that night due to the heat, but we still enjoyed walking around after our meal. Definitely recommend.

Sorry to say but after waiting forever in the heat with no sun shade several meals came out wrong. Restrooms were closed and the one they had open was disgusting.

Food was great , service was a bit slow however they do cook to order. It was a warm night and it was extremely hot in the restaurant, many of us were fanning ourselves with menus. It’s an open kitchen so that may explain the extra heat we were feeling in addition to a warm night. Definitely will go back. Had the steak quesadilla and it was outstanding. All others with me enjoyed food as well.

Took my family there on the Fourth of July. My daughter and I shared a quesadilla and a chimichanga and it was delicious. However, my wife and my other daughter shared a chicken burrito and immediately felt sick after their first few bites. The burrito itself did not look very appetizing at first, but decided to try it anyway. Both of them spent the entire night in the bathroom. I got a margarita, and it was very good. The atmosphere is cool. It’s just a bummer that they had something wrong with their plate and kind of ruined the whole night.

Great food, great service! We got a variety of dishes (ropa vieja, Cuban sandwich, and a steak and chicken dish) and all tasted great! Our food came out quickly and our waitress checked on us multiple times. We had a 6:30 reservation and we’re seated immediately.

The hostess was on the phone for over 5 minutes without even acknowledging us, and when she got off the phone was not friendly at all. The service was lacking and the food was mediocre at best.

The food was fresh and delicious. Margaritas were great. We had fast service. We had dinner there on a Friday evening, we were seated outside and there was a concert in the park across the street. The concert wasn’t too loud and added to the ambiance!

I was excited that they could accommodate such a large group in the middle of peak. Not only did they take the reservation , but the service and food was outstanding! We split checks with no problem and everyone loved their meal !

Was your typical Mexican restaurant with a lot less flavor to the food. Everything was very bland. We had our daughter who needed a highchair and we got put at an awkward two person table but we made it work. Service was friendly but not very prompt. Would stop again in a pinch but definitely wouldn't go out of the way to.
