Lovely outdoor seating. Excellent service. Delicious food. A very enjoyable dinner experience.
Great food! Server was young and should have checked in on our table more often.
One of my favorite places! Lovely food, atmosphere and the cookies are the best!!
Beautiful restaurant. The crab and shrimp with coconut rice was out of this world. Delicious cocktails too!
Pleasant feel. Attentive wait staff. Appetizers included board with fresh warm bread, ham, cheese, and also ordered artichokes and Brussels —great start. We had shrimp, steak, salads—all excellent . Dessert doughnuts and cake were great
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. It is charming, light and airy. The service was great; the food was delicious! The artichoke appetizer was unique and yummy. The Blackberry mojito was very aromatic. We loved the fish and shrimp entrees and blueberry pie!
It’s a lovely area that feels like a secluded retreat from busy 35th st.
I was not blown away by the service or the food . But it’s a nice place and well run and pretty.
Love this space. Just wish you would install some sort of noise absorbing system. So loud it makes it hard to carry on a conversation
I heard about this restaurant but had never had an opportunity to go. I will go again and again. Wonderful beautiful fabulous.
It is a pretty place to dine. Although the food is just mediocre at best. We had the Red Snapper that was overcooked and over seasoned. It was on a rice that it sat on just didn't seem to fit. It's really a shame because the decor and atmosphere was exceptional.
Our server was delightful, professional and really set a good tone for the evening.
The Shrimp and risotto was light and tasty.
The wine selection is fare and at best, the chocolate chip cookie was spot on.
Not much mention of this place on all the "internet lists" but I found it to be far better than most of the highly mentioned "best restaurants of Austin". The place was gorgeous, staff was great, and the chocolate chip cookies were UNREAL.
Really beautiful restaurant and the food is delicious. Would recommend sitting inside (it's in kind of an odd area, so I personally didn't find it super appealing to sit outside). The risotto is incredible - would recommend pairing with the market fish. Also, make sure to get at least one of their warm cookies!
Dinner was very good and the place is bright and vibrant. The brunch menu looks great so we will definitely go back and try that soon.
Great food and service. Amazingly attractive retro-fit of a former fast food/chain restaurant. Light and airy. Lots more gals than guys the night we went. Noisy room.
I want to love this place because it is precious on the inside and out from a design stand point - but our server really ruined the entire experience for us plus it feels very ladies brunch like not evening vibe at all.
I won't go in to the entire evening, but the server had no knowledge of the cocktails "because she was not a drinker" and no knowledge of the fish specials "because she was vegan" I will let your imagination fill in the rest.
The entree I ordered was terrible and they proceeded to tell me it was being removed from the menu because of problems....
I will say the manager was lovely - and she sent over a box of 2 pastries to go for the trouble.
I would give it another shot for breakfast but never again for dinner - too many great dinner places in austin
Wonderful atmosphere, amazing cocktails and delicious food!
Great . Love Rr cheese plate . Burger slighty over cooked . Tiasha is top notch server..
This was my fourth visit to Tiny Boxwoods and I brought a friend who was visiting from Scottsdale. It was a Friday night so I knew the place would be busy so I booked a table. It was jumping inside which means it is really loud, some noise dampening measures would be a good investment! Our server, Tisha, greeted us right away, she was friendly and had a great smile. We had already decided on our dinner choices before we arrived so we started with a cocktail. I had a mint julep, excellent, my friend tried the In Bloom, I think it was called. We both loved the our drinks. I had told her about the artichokes before we arrived and we were anxious to order them but they no longer have an appetizer portion available. They can only be ordered as a side, they were still amazing! We also had an order of the fried green tomatoes. They were fried in a beer batter which was light and crispy with great flavor. Our only complaint was some were very salty. We shared the watercolor, my favorite dish on the menu and while it was very good, the coconut rice seemed to lack of its usual coconut flavor. We shared a bottle of Schug Chardonnay which was a great oaky, buttery but still balanced wine. Tisha was such a gracious server who was dealing with several tables with grace, laughter and smiles. She really enhanced our entire dining experience. We were really satisfied at the end of our meal but decided to have two of their famous chocolate chip cookies; they are crispy, melty and chewy at the same time. Just really good. I am already looking forward to my next visit. I will be asking for a table in Tisha’s section!
Lucky burger was unlucky. Not good especially for the price. Maybe other menu items are better. Service was very good. Nice place but initially load on a Friday night.
The food is great! But it is way too loud. We could barely hear at our table of 4. I prefer to dine for breakfast here. Much less crowded so much less noise. It is a beautiful place! I wish they would consult someone about adding something to help reduce the noise.
We love the Houston Tiny Box Woods!! The Austin location is too crowded on the inside. It would be better with more space between tables. Excellent service and food!
A overall. Two of us had dinner inside. Food is very good and so is the atmosphere. Service was OK but seemed stretched. Probably too many quests for the number of servers. Noise level is very loud. Don't expect to have a conversation. One suggestion if TB is reading --- Place a sign by the parking lot entrance and/or on the building with your name. We had no idea if we were at the right place or not as there was no sign.
Tiny Boxwoods has become one of my favorite Austin restaurants. Love the food. Love the decor and ambience.
Breakfast and brunch is a must... dinner is a bust! Dinner is way over priced and extremely small portions.
Wonderful as always! From Pizza and a burger, to wonderful seafood dishes, there is something for everyone. Love the full bar, even though I usually get wine. Will be back soon! Of course, I left with a dozen of Tiny’s decadent chocolate chip cookies!
Tables too close together as we could hear everyone’s private conversations.
Definitely a place you dream about returning to! Staff and food are great. An great experience!
Server made the evening special - connected with us, watched the table and was attentive. Drinks and entrees were top of the line delicious. Perfectly prepared scallops as was my husband's swordfish. Brussel sprouts were good - maybe a tad too tangy. Perfect risotto. We enjoyed the ambiance (had an early reservation) until the restaurant started to fill up, which it did quickly. And then the noise level became apparent. Don't know what you have to do, but it needs to be addressed. Regardless, we'll be back. An overall wonderful eating experience.
Beautifully crafted restaurant with exceptional service and equally tasty and well planned menu
Lovely and light. My husband is diabetic and asked for fresh berries on and was told no, which was disappointing. Otherwise very nice.
great service and food in a beautiful casual atmosphere
Loved eating outside under the sycamore tree. French picnic appetizer was delightful, the shrimp risotto and seaside entrée were fabulous. Our waiter, Ben was great, but the best was the hostess who answered our questions about the landscaping and brought me a fan when I felt warm.
We took our daughter and three of her friends here for her birthday. She and the girls absolutely loved it. The food was exceptional and the chocolate chip cookies were perfect finish!!!!
Fabulous everything: the food, the wait staff, the atmosphere and the new cocktails!!
Our first time to Tiny Boxwoods and we were pleased. But noise got to us, even at 6:30, as it filled up. We were happy to be seated even earlier than our reservation and did come early to avoid noise in part.
I live the burger. While it was tasty as usual, it was oddly cold. :-/
My favorite spot in Austin. The servers are the best and the environment is incredible. LOVE Tiny Boxwoods
As always, the food and wine (and cookies!!) were excellent. We got the grilled salmon, and the fillet with prawns. The sides (artichoke hearts and Brussels sprouts) were fantastic. The cocktails and wine list were superb as well. I take all new people here for a lovely evening. Their brunch is great too!
Overall this was a good experience. But I ordered the filet with shrimp and it was doused in butter. It was delicious but pretty much soaked. It was so buttery I dreamt about butter that night and not in a good way. I would order the dish again but request light on the butter!
You have to do something about the wAter as the water glasses. They smelled very bad. Could not even drink it.
This is second time we have been there and the water glasses and water smelled bad. Such a cool white clean looking interior too.
