Was very disappointed I could not order the "Tasting menu" because of their policy that over 50% of the table has to order it. We were four, two of us wanted it but it had to be three to be over the percentage. If we had been three at the table, two could have ordered. Does this make any sense??? It cost the restaurant $2,000.00 and the server received $400.00 less gratuity because of the lower amount. Everyone was a loser, we did not get what we wanted for dinner, the business lost money (apparently they are successful enough they don't need it and can afford to treat customers this way) and the server lost income. I would think with the present pandemic every dollar would count. Vallarta has many restaurants of this quality to choose from and I will certainly consider that this week when we want an exceptional dinner.

Overall I applaud what they are trying to do. Potion sizes are very small. You really should order an appetizer and entree. I had the lamb tamale that was fabulous- a little salty but otherwise very well done. You only get one tamale on sauce- nothing accompanied it. My husband had the octopus- very good- a little over charred but otherwise very tender. Our one friend had the Mahi special and said it was ok- said the fish was a little dry and overcooked. His wife had the mushroom entree and it didn’t look very good. She ate about 2/3 of it. It looked like diced mushrooms in a sort of thickened broth. They split the cheesecake dessert and said it was very good. We split the coconut dessert- it was interesting and good. The wine selection is very good. I think the food overall is inventive but just needs a little more attention.

A little noisy & I didn't like everything on the tasting menu, but I'd still go back. It was $75 for a nine-course tasting menu without wine. You cannot beat that. I would order a la carte next time.

So noisy and loud we couldn’t even speak to our friends. They NEED to install noise proofing on their ceiling. Food unique but very limited menu.

We would not return.

Wonderful evening out with friends. Service was very good, not over attentive but just enough. Ordered the baked tomatoes....wow! So nice and full of flavour with the peanut mole sauce. Almost like having dessert before dinner! Main course was the lamb stew tamales. Never had a tamale with a grape leaf wrapper, until now. So tasty! Had to finish the sauce off with my spoon it was so good. Compliments to the chef and staff for a wonderful dining experience! Can’t wait to return next year!

Tasting menu was delicious, interesting, and surprising. 12 courses, but only a few bites of each. Well paced.

Of all the restaurants we’ve tried in Puerto Vallarta (over 100], this is the most interesting. If you are adventurous, go here.

Had a wonderful dinner last night as we celebrated our anniversary. David (and the team of other servers) took wonderful care of us. We tried the tasting menu and each bite was so different and prepared beautifully. The flavors all were distinct and delectable. We will be back. Thank you again!

Service was mediocre, the menu is designed to have you spend $75 and up per person. The food is ok, the service was worth 10% tip, mainly because the hostess was considerate, otherwise <%10.

Yes but with I would advise them to ask you to take your time serving the food.

The food is always amazing here. Dishes are well thought out with high quality ingredients and interesting presentation. Staff is courteous and friendly. The non-traditional cheesecake is amazing! They couldn't seem to get the recipe for a cosmopolitan cocktail correct... at least not the way one guest wanted it...but this is a very minor glitch.

Tinoque continues to delight. My second dinner there in a week's time. Slight disappointment that they did not have duck or chicken on a Saturday night (and we were there early). Nonetheless, a superior dinner as well as excellent service. Can't say enough about the grilled shrimp and the 36 hr tomatoes.
Tintoque remains a breath of fresh air for diners here in Puerto Vallarta.

We were looking for an authentic fine dining experience and it was wonderful. Many layers of wonderful flavours in each dish. We had green salad and grilled shrimp for appetizers and lamb tamale and chicken for main course. All were great

We Had the opportunity to visit twice within the past week. First time we’ve visited with our family including our 11 month old granddaughter. It was an early seating and the staff were absolutely wonderful with her. We had a spectacular dinner and an awesome bottle of wine.

We returned the following weekend with friends of ours and enjoyed the tasting menu paired with their wine suggestions. Again, the staff and food were outstanding! We even returned the next day to ask about some of the wines we had forgotten to take note of with our dinner. They were very accommodating in assisting us. In checking the wine selections, we discovered that the price points of the wine served, are certainly worth the price charged for the tasting. We will definitely be returning!

Service was horrific. Twelve plus tasting menu where it took 20 to 30 minutes per course to be served. Excruciatingly slow. No apologies or explanation. Painful. They should be embarrassed. We left early. Never again.

Let me begin by stating our server Daniel was excellent. Spent time described the various selections and NEVER pressure us to order. We began with cocktails serving my wife a Margarita with Don Julio Silver... he could of sold us an expensive tequilas-as they have an expansive selection,but as he stated if your mixing it in a Margarita enjoy a nice but not overly expensive tequila...my wife thought it was excellent and enjoyed two of them. Boring me I did a Dirty Martini with Absolut. For an appetizer we enjoyed the special-Oysters(2) and two type of Clam preparations. The flavors combined were marvelous. For our entree we had the fish of the day -Mahi-mahi. Once again the flavors in the dish were excellent. It was eating French complexities without all the butter, cream, etc. Yes it was a truly wonderful dining experience without all the calories. We will be back. Thanks to the Chef and the Sous Chefs for an outstanding dining experience. Yes it’s much more than dinner...you can feel the LOVE on the plates. M

Mahi Mahi was the best I have ever tasted. The soft shell crab was very small, that appetizer was much larger the last time I had it at Tintoque. Very good food and drinks.

We really like the interesting food selections. The staff is very polite & accommodating . The ONLY aspect of the restaurant we don’t like is the noise level and the music which is non music just a constant annoying beating. Other friends have mentioned to me how much they like the food , wouldn’t return because of the noise level.
It is unfortunate the only solution seems to be to go to dinner early!

The menu had several items that we didn't want but there was a good variety of food to choose from. We enjoyed the dishes we ordered. The servers seemed a little confused at times and when the food came no plates were on the table, but it was quickly resolved. The flavors and quality of the food were excellent.

Food just ok. We expected a fabulous meal with great service. We received neither. The portions were extremely small. The steak was recommended and it was not great. We asked for water , looking at the wine menu, and it took the longest time for us to get them to take a wine order. There were only 2 other tables occupied at the time. It was a disappointing an expensive evening evening.

At first glance the menu felt a little intimidating, offering unusual and interesting items, however there were many ingredients that were unfamiliar to me. I took a leap of faith and ordered items in the spirit of being adventuresome. And let me tell you, i am so glad I did. We had an an absolutely exquisite meal! Their creative combinations of ingredients and flavors, stunning, food presentations and plating, excellent, lovely wait staff made for an outstanding dining experience in every way. NO exaggeration. We can’t wait to go back.
