Tinto, an expression used to describe red wine served in pintxos bars throughout Northern Spain, is the ultimate expression of what a Basque wine bar should be. Specialties of the House
Duck Montadito, Lamb Brochettes, Pulpo Spanish Octopus, 60 bottle wine list from the Basque regions of N. Spain and S. France, and artisanal ciders.

The restaurant lacked ambiance, where were seated with my OT reservation, the tables were very crowded, it was very dark, noisy and we had to listen to crashing dishes being bussed and watch the bathroom door open and close all evening.

There was no audible music to be heard? The wine prices were thru the roof, the least expensive “Rioja” was $60? I won’t even mention any of the other named wine prices. We ordered the pitcher of sangria which only served 4 glasses and had a LOT of ice, so we could have just ordered 4 glasses of better wine? Good service, and good food though!!

The tapas changed since my last visit (they were much better the first time around). The noise level was a bit much but, for such a small space, it was expected and tolerable. The service was good and overall it was an enjoyable experience.

This was a much anticipated meal for us and we were left mostly disappointed. We ordered the chef's tasting to get a broad sense of the menu.

Some dishes were certainly good, while others fell flat. Unfortunately, one of the waiters serving us gave only names and nonspecific descriptions of the dishes, so we were left in the dark through the first two courses.

The highlight for us was the goat cheese flan, it was decadent and well assembled.

Loved the shaved brussel sprout salad, grilled octopus and, believe it or not, the shrimp with chocolate sauce! Can't wait to go back for more!

Everything was wonderful. Had the red sangria and it was the perfect blend of sweet/not too sweet/strong. Had the almonds/olives to start- great olives and great little snack. They brought out little cheese breads with red wine butter that kept you wanting more. First was the bluefin tuna toast (best thing of the night), lamb brochettes, duck confit toast, fried calamari sandwich, octopus and monkfish. Everything had so much flavor, cooked so well. Felt a tad rushed, but it was a Saturday night. 3rd time here, was my favorite out of the 3.

Who likes those 2 tops crammed together? The ambience is great at Tinto but it would be much better with some space. Food was fantastic and I don’t mind the “tapas” approach requiring you order 5-6 dishes for 2 people but I feel the price should reflect that. Very nice place though, great food and relaxing atmosphere but I wont be back until I have a special occasion.

The service was fabulous. Every time we were finished with a plate a server or food runner cleared our plates immediately. Staff was very kind and friendly. The Spanish octopus and bluefin tune toast was to die for. Great environment and experience!

We arrived at 6:30... a little early evidently, as there was only one other occupied table. We ordered three starters, and cocktails, hoping to relax and pace the evening. The food arrived instantly... we could have been done and left in ten minutes. I assume when it’s crowded, as it became by 7:30 pm, they slow down and don’t push the food out so quickly. The food was very tasty, particularly the crab cocktail. I thought the paella was too bland... although it had large flavorful shrimp.

Went on my birthday and had the MOST fabulous dinner. Sublime combinations - really delicious and so unusual. My friend and I kept moaning it as so good. Bravo.

Tinto was great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu (including gluten free options) and he was very friendly. I went with a friend for restaurant week and there was an option to add a wine pairing for $15, which we did. The wine pairing including 2 glasses of either house red or house white. $15 for two glasses of wine at a restaurant like this is a great deal, however, the name "pairing" made it seem more like a pairing of wine to the food, which it was not. The food had great flavor, however, some dishes did not come out hot. Otherwise, I would definitely come back. Tasty food, adorable atmosphere, and everyone who worked their was friendly as could be!

We had dinner during restaurant week - it was a nice cozy atmosphere and service was good. We were not a fan of the soup (too creamy and heavy) but otherwise it was a delicious and we enjoyed trying small portions of different dishes.

We came to Tinto for restaurant week. Our first time and our friends 4th time. Server was very nice and explained the menu very well. We were downstairs by the steps. Some people climbed the steps with lead feet...very loud! The “buckets” to place the dirty dishes were behind us. The sound of the dirty dishes being placed in the barrels resonated at times. To end positively...the food was good! We all enjoyed our meals!

Went for restaurant week. 5:00 res and they put us in the basement with a heavy smell of toilet. I’m sure it was largely due to having two children with us. Service was fine but waitress obviously not very friendly. Unimpressive wine pairing. Food was delicious.
