Food was average. The Paella was overloaded with protein and the rice had the wrong texture. Service was excellent.
Only complaint would be that it gets a little cramped in the upstairs seating‘s high top tables if you are looking for a table to two - group seating seems to get more spacious - just something to be aware of. Otherwise, great ambiance, creative drinks and delicious food. Recommend the beef tenderloin - great flavor and tenderness. Asked for medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Croquettes were a great app, noticed the cheese plate looked great too and plentiful but didn’t try it.
Great Spanish Tapas restaurant Think Barcelona off the ramblas vibe. Near Rittenhouse so good walking area.
Wonderful tapas and great wine. A little sister of Amada. We’ll be back soon.
Always a great stop. A must in philly dining
Amazing service, wine recommendations and food. Highly recommend.
The food quality and options were not good. Our “medium rare” steak had no pink at all. Other items we ordered were just ok. The service was great though. The server was attentive and knowledgeable.
The pork belly was out of this world! Tinto is perfect for happy hour, but i love this restaurant for fancy nights out too
to pricey for the little food you get i would never go back
Just superb all-around!
We were in town for a concert and birthday celebration for my son. We had reservations for a party of 5 at 5:00 as we wanted to have plenty of time to enjoy dinner and get to the concert venue. Upon arriving...given that it was early, there were no other patrons in the restaurant. We walked in and immediately thought how warm and inviting the atmosphere was, only to be ushered to a room downstairs, where a) no one else was sitting and b) you could barely hear the music coming from upstairs. Honestly...it felt like a basement or time out space. We asked to be moved back upstairs and were accommodated. Having said that, they put us at a table for 4 with a chair on the end. My husband had to straddle a bar at the end of the table while we dined. Staff could have easily put a couple of tables together on the banquette to more comfortably seat our party. If it had been prime time dinner hour, we could have understood more, but the restaurant was basically empty when we were being seated. On to the food....quite simply mediocre. Octopus completely overcooked and absolutely nothing memorable about the flavors. Bland mussels served on toasted bread. I could go on, but frankly, have wasted enough time on Tinto and it's less than impressive cuisine. Thoroughly disappointing on all fronts. Total waste of money with so many other great options in Philly.
great food, attentive staff, but very noisy for any type of converstation
We went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner for a family member. The food and the service was outstanding! We couldn’t have made a better choice.
Great food at Tinto. The white sangria was on point!
My wife and I had the Pintxo Tasting menu, the smaller of the two tasting menus, and it was very good! It was very filling as well. The duck with cherry on toast was probably my favorite, but everything was excellent.
Great restaurant. Amazing food.
Awesome food & service!
It was my first time at Tinto and I was very impressed the server was very helpful an enlightening me about the menu since I was not that familiar with Spanish food he recommended the tasty menu which I did that was excellent I have to confess I wasn't able to finish the last course but the cook very graciously prepared for me to take home
The new menu is quite a disappointment! Gone are many of my Tinto favorites including gambas al ajillo, jamon iberico and the fabulous arugula salad with jamon serrano wrapped dates. For the first time ever, I actually had a difficult time deciding what to order at a Garces restaurant. In addition, the wine menu is quite expensive with few if any value wines from Spain. I can no longer recommend Tinto!
We couldnt decide on what to get so ordered the fixed price amazing chef tasting and wine pairing. Our server Anthony was excellent and gave us the history behind all the wines and dishes. Everything was amazing and a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday
Tried the tasting menu, was delicious! Service was excellent.
It's been at least 5 years since my last visit to Tinto and I don't think I'll return. The menu has changed (in a bad way), the food was forgettable and disappointing, and the service was lackluster. If I want tapas again, I'll definitely go to Amada or Charlie was a Sinner instead.
We were a large group so we were sat upstairs in a private room, so I cannot comment on the ambiance and other pieces of the restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and the food was very good. However, we ordered pitchers of sangria which I can say were very watered down and FULL of ice so they were a bit of a rip off.
I had previously been to Tinto’s private dining room and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was very pleased with the ambience in the main dining area. We were able to sit at a booth, which I like. Food was excellent, wine selection superb. A special mention is due for the attentive, pleasant service personnel. In summary, a very enjoyable dining experience.
Hadn't been to Tinto in a year or two, and was excited to go back again.
Apparently, they are doing some renovation work so they had a shortened menu and we couldn't order some of our favorites. Not sure how long they will be renovating, but maybe call ahead before making reservation if you want to be sure the full menu is being offered.
We had the pleasure of sitting next to the parents of the executive chef from the restaurant, and they were wonderful people who made the experience even better than we ever expected. The pulpo and the duck confit were amazing and the rose wine from the Basque region was unexpectedly delicious! Mike was an attentive and pleasant waiter. We will come back when we return to Philadelphia!
Great service, beautiful ambiance. Delicious food, and great selection!
It was a great evening! Good portion in addition to being wonderfully prepared and flavorful. Nice service, especially appreciated not being rushed on restaurant week, which is often the case. Thank you!
We dined on the second to last Restaurant Week evening. This three course meal was in a word FABULOUS. For $35, each person chose two appetizers, two entrees and one dessert. We opted for the $15 wine pairing (two glasses of wine)-another bargain.
We had dined at Tinto previously; this dinner was the best one to date. Kudos to the chefs, bar tenders and wait staff!
Excellent representation of Spanish food. Delicious tapas, wonderful wine pairing
We love Spanish Pintxos, but Tinto did not deliver. No flavor in the dishes. Very disappointing. The atmosphere is great.
My first visit to Tinto was fabulous. I dined during restaurant week, so we enjoyed a unique tasting menu and wine pairing. The meal was well-crafted, creative, and filling. All items were beautifully presented. They curated the experience in an impressive fashion, and the meticulous service was balanced with the quality of the dishes. As a member of the hospitality industry with experience in fine dining and small plates, I know how difficult it can be on a busy night to time the arrival of small plates efficiently- not crowding the table, but not letting us wait for the next dish. Tinto’s staff absolutely nailed it. Everything was perfect and I successfully impressed my date. You’ve earned your five stars!
DON'T LET THEM PUT YOU IN THE BASEMENT UNLESS YOU CAN'T HEAR
Yet another fabulous experience at Tinto. Went with my inhales-his-food brother for CC Restaurant Week, and even he slowed down a bit to enjoy the meal! Portion sizes are typically perfect, with some dishes just a little too big (but who's complaining about that!?) so it ends up that you get to try a bunch of delicious and wildly different dishes, all with some fabulous flair. Service was spectacular as always, and this time even above and beyond. I got excited by the name of a dish without reading its full description, and when it came and I did not like it the server not only offered to replace it with something else, but suggested a totally different dish that ended up being one of our absolute favorites of the evening. He also recommended another dish as we were originally ordering that was out of this world. Advice to my future self: just go with server recommendations from the outset and you won't go wrong! Will definitely be back again.
Tinto is some place I've heard of before but just never went, but they were participating in Restaurant Week so I figured I'd give it a try. I arrived early for my reservation, but they took us right away. Our servers were very attentive and kept adding and removing plates, so our small table never got crowded. The food was great, there was a nice variety of meats and seafood to choose from. Each tapas plate really packed in a ton of flavor, and their gazpacho (something I've never liked) converted me.
Even if it wasn't Restaurant Week I'd go again.
Excellent food and service!! Went for dinner during restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised!! All dishes were amazing! Server was friendly and provided excellent service! I will definitely be back soon!
We will be back as often as we can. Food, atmosphere, and service...all incredible. Highly recommend.
It’s has been my favorite restaurant of all times. Restaurant week was superb for my guest who likes to budget and to get out from being a stay home mom. Mike our server was wonderful. Roger management was friendly greeting every customer. Ella was superb with kind welcoming entrance to holding the door on our way out. Overall amazing staff and excellent service all around. A*++ rating.
Love the flavor. Very special tastes -- would come back and try everything on the menu
I've eaten at Tinto for many business dinners, but this time was with my partner for Restaurant Week. It has to be said that the Garces restaurants do restaurant week menus as good as if not much better than almost all other participants. The portions are well sized for sharing, the wine pairings are full pours and great taste and value and the service is as impeccable as it is when full price items are on the menu. We could not finish our secondi, despite how delicious they were. The tables are set close, but the noise level never gets distracting as in most smaller restaurants. Overall, high consistency to food preparation and attention to service makes this a winner.
