late Valentine’s Day dinner
Been here a few times and seems to be going down hill. The quality of the food is not what it was in the past. We were a party of four and were seated in a really tight booth. Ordered a bunch of dishes but nothing stood out (maybe the chorizo burger - but it was more like a slider).
The food was excellent and the server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. Was a great date night spot.
It was ok place, a little too loud and noisy for a quite family dinner place. The service wasn’t excellent but ok too, the empty plates from finished dishes were not cleaned promptly. The dishes were delicious but not cooked to perfection, octopus was very salty. Ok dinner experience place overall but not excellent.
My partner and I were visiting Philadelphia for a couple of days and had a wonderful dinner at Tinto. Given the Valentine’s Day night there was a prefix menu but that wasn’t a bad thing. Everything we had was excellent. Our server was amazing. With a packed house she was friendly, tentative and informative. The food and wine pairings were matched perfectly. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. Very happy we chose Tinto and would recommend it to others.
Food was not very good. Particularly for the cost.
My friend said this might have been his best meal ever. We chose the chef's tasting menu.
Somewhat cramped and too dark in places. I needed my phone to read the menu. Everything else was fantastic.
After walking in torrential rain to find Tinto, we were wary that the experience wouldn’t live up to the effort. But it did. In fact,it surpassed it. Lovely interior. Thoughtful service. Beautiful presentation. And the food, exquisite.
Will return often!
Thank you Tinto!
We were a party of 8 and were seated upstairs in a private room for 2 large groups. It was perfect!
This was our second time here and everytime it gets better and better. The food is top notch, waitress was awesome and bartenders were great. One of my Favorite places in the city
I absolutely love Tinto, I started going there when I was 16 and am now 28. It is my favorite restaurant by far. The chefs menu is always delicious and to die for. I would recommend to anyone!
One of the best dinners in Philly that we have had over past 3 years. Will go back for special occasions.
Service was top notch! Paired with delicious tapas and a nice bottle of red, you cant go wrong!
Arrived on time for a 9:15 reservation. Was told to wait in the (crowded) bar, away from the hostesses’ station (we were in the way). Twenty-five minutes later, checked again with hostess. Was told they had “forgotten” us and then we were finally given a table. Wasn’t worth the wait; we’ll “forget” about going back.
Food was amazing! Not at all disappointed in anything that we had. Waiter was very helpful in suggesting items and his knowledge of what was being served. Loved the duck confit with the cherry, trout wrapped in Serrano ham, the duck cannelloni, Brussels sprout salad, apple salad with shaved fois gras was a bit hit! I can’t complain about anything and felt the price was very good for all we had including a martini, bottle of wine and everyone had dessert. You get to try different items and you don’t feel overly full and uncomfortable when you leave.
Fun night out! Tasty food and yummy drinks- service very nice😄
Delicious food!!! Great service and lovely ambiance!
great place eat, the food and service was excellent. It is a very nice place to take your significant other, but plan on spending some money
Almost every dish was amazing - hard to pick our favorites- the short rib sandwich, octopus, duck cannelloni and roasted pork chop are must haves. Don’t waste your time with the tuna brochettes - lacking flavor compared to the rest of the menu. And all the desserts are fabulous. We will return!
Absolutely amazing. Went to Tinto for a first date. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion. The food was incredible. The service was great, the waiter was well versed in all the menu items and added to the experience. In absolute must if you haven’t been yet.
Beautiful decor and amazing staff. We were there for the restaurant week on a Sat night, the food was above our expectations although the drinks we ordered were a little too strong. Would totally recommend this place if you like dim lighting, romantic ambience and creative spanish food :)
We had our 1 year anniversary here and the server was very nice and celebratory. Great food too. The beef brochettes were out of this world.
I always come here for restaurant week so I can try as many dishes as possible, great wine pairings
Finally tried this place for restaurant week! I am typically not into Spanish food(as in Spain) but because I had a wonderful tome at Amada and I can trust Garces to have amazing food, I checked this place out! So here goes my ratings from best to average...
The octopus or Pulpo was AMAZING. Literally the best thing that I’ve tasted. Full of flavor and was juicy and they paired it with a nice smoked green olive aioli! Freaking fantastic! I will need to go back there for this!
They had an AMAZING potato and leek soup. It was soooo good and you could taste all the flavors. Unfortunately our waiter said the soup was only available during restaurant week 😫 super bummer!
The tuna skewers were good, the sauce they paired with it was so amazing but the skewer came with a sweet potato chunk which didn’t make sense to me. Nonetheless it was good.
We got two types of cheeses, i can’t remember the names right now but one was a combination of cow and goat and one was just goat alone. One of theme was too strong for my likings but I’m sure a cheese Connoisseur would very much like the selection.
Lastly the papatas were too average, they could have been better.
The ambiance was warm and trendy.
Overall wonderful experience!
Restaurant Week diner was amazing and a great value. A lot to choose from.
Amazing food and service!! :) I can not wait to go back. Certainly one of my favorite restaurants.
Food was amazing. Modern inventive Tapas. Will go back soon, hoping they mix up their menu regularly.
We went for restaurant week and the food was delicious! Highly recommend it!
Brielle is a knowledgeable and considerate bartender/server. She was very pleasant & helpful.
Trucha a la Navarra was outstanding, very similar to the dish in Spain. Octopus was overcooked & too crispy. Very sorry to see gambas al ajillo, a common Spanish dish, is dropped from the menu. And no sign of the plump , delicious boquerones.
I do look forward to the 20 new additions to the menu and hope they are traditional Spanish dishes & not "Americanized." Fabada asturiana, sopa de ajo & caldo gallego are some of my suggestions.
My favorite Philadelphia restaurant, no doubt. Never miss restaurant week, it’s such a good deal. Fabulous food and wonderful ambiance.
We had to wait 20 minutes, even though we made a reservation
Food was fine. Serving sizes were extremely small. Would probably not go again.
Went for restaurant week. Was good!
Tinto is a great choice for a romantic dinner. I love the decor. Found the food a little salty for my taste. The wine selection is extensive...
Went for Restaurant Week and got to taste a lot of their menu. Boyfriend and I both loved everything we had and definitely plan to come back to order from the main menu! Awesome ambiance and service and food and wine was fantastic! Gracias!
excellent service, great portions, reservation was right on time, no waiting.
Went for restaurant week. The service was good but I have to say this was the worst food experience I had for restaurant week in my life. The food was mediocre, extremely basic in flavor, and very small skewer portions of everything. There was only one dish that we tried that we thought was pretty good. It was duck served on a toast Chip with a cherry and mayo. It was good but still underwhelming for the price. Not the restaurant experience we were hoping for looking at the exquisite menu ahead of time. This was my first Garces Restaurant experience and I understand why they’ve filed for bankruptcy.
Each plate is absolutely delicious and very unique. Service was excellent except for our waitress which seemed annoyed if we asked questions. Luckily, her attitude improved throughout the night.
