After soaking in the TRB’s Santa Barbara mission architecture, you’ll enter and be greeted by a triple arched Brunswick mahogany bar. Large bowls of colorful citrus for making cocktails sit atop a twenty-foot long bar perfect for grabbing a glass of wine or a bite to eat. As you explore further towards the display kitchen, you enter our lounge, also referred to as the wine library. Knotted wood shelves display our wines, divided up by wine region. Windows surround the North side of the dining room, allowing our guests to gaze out onto the fountain in our courtyard. I describe the décor as thoughtful and collective, creating little vignettes for dining areas. We offer two separate outdoor dining experiences: our courtyard with full service and our front porch great for appetizers, drinks and lounging.

This is a reliable restaurant with good, not great food. The service wasn’t great this time. Maybe everyone is tired after the weekend.

Sat on patio
Very nice but service lacked the usual attention to detail and friendliness.
But we will be back.

We LOVE Tin Roof Bistro, but this is the worst service we have ever rec'd at any restaurant, ever!
Started with the hostesses. Arrived on time for our reservation, hostesses told us "no problem, getting your table cleaned & ready"--so we sat on the chairs right in front of the two hostesses and watched them have a great time chatting with each other, in no hurry to do anything. After about 10 min, we asked again, we were told the same: "no problem, getting your table cleaned & ready". After about another 8-10 min, we asked again & it was as though a light bulb went off! The hostess seemed so surprised that we had not yet been seated & sat us at an open table that was sitting open, cleaned & ready for at least 20 min (we were sitting close enough to see it was open the entire time). NO PROBLEM, but it went downhill from there: ordered a glass of white wine & a gin & tonic. Rec'd a glass of red wine and a vodka/tonic. Got that rectified, finally ordered, then rec'd the food in multiple stages such that 2 people were finished with their meals by the time the other two orders arrived. So ODD. We loved our waiter--he was attentive and sweet, but honestly, we think it was his first day on the job. He got everything wrong and seemed overwhelmed.
Anyway, just thought we would share--despite the issues, we STILL LOVE Tin Roof!

Our server had pulled a double shift due to a super busy Mother's Day but she brought her A- Game! The food is always delicious and our family had a wonderful Mother's Day dinner.

Not as many gluten free options as I would have liked and it was super busy (we were there on Mother’s Day, so expected) which made it loud. But the food and service were both good and it’s a really cute place.

Sam gave us amazing service! Also, we were seated in a back room which was quiet and spacious. The food is exceptional, too. It was a great Mother’s Day dinner! Thank you for our beautiful roses! I recommend this restaurant as one of the best in the area!

Went to Tin roof with our mothers for Mother’s Day lunch who were in town from out of state. Started with one of us sitting down on a chair covered in water. Drinks from the bar took forever. Appetizer took forever. Meals came out approximately 45 minutes after sitting down. Mother received a frittata that was ice cold (in a cast iron skillet). Waitress brought another one. Also cold. Proceeded to order something else, and continued to wait another 25 minutes. At this point everyone was done eating and one mother had no lunch. Finally we just gave up, and asked them to box it. There was no sense of urgency from our server. The kitchen clearly couldn’t handle the rush for the holiday. Don’t bring your family here for a special event. They will ruin it. Super disappointed ☹️

Tin Roof Bistro is always a safe bet! We loved our lunch, our server, and dessert! It looked like there was a wedding shower on the patio which looked really sweet! I imagine this is a great place to host an event!

Thank you!

The noise level is challenging. During the middle of our dinner, a party of 10 was seated next to us and even though they offered to scoot us down a few feet, it proved impossible to converse with my date even though we were seated next to each.

It was really good. Come often however this time our Brussel Sprouts had too much sauce and same with my Caesar Salad way too much dressing. Other than that great service as always. Won’t stop us from going back. Mistakes happen.

This was probably the thirtieth time we have been to Tin Roof since they opened and definitely the worst service experience we’ve had. The two hosts were making origami out of napkins and servers were similarly ready to go home on Friday when we were eating. It seems some training of servers is needed - we had to ask bus people twice for our drinks. Overall we really want to love Tin Roof but often feel disappointed by service and a pretty imprecise kitchen. We love our local restaurants but it seems a management reboot is needed at Tin Roof these days.

Negative experience upon arrival at front desk. Hod a reservation, host acknowledged, then just walked off and conversed with other staff for nearly 10 minutes, returned, said it would be a few more minutes (the restaurant was LESS than 25% full inside...and we weren’t asking to sit outside, which was full! 5 minutes later, another hostess started all over again, and actually seated us, but it wasn’t a positive beginning .

Food was delicious - started with hummus & Brussels sprouts, then split the short rib entree. Our server was lovely and the food was delivered in a well timed manner.

Highly recommended.
