Brought out of town friends for dinner, they enjoyed the ambiance, decor, service and the food was delicious.
Using Open table during Covid restrictions makes eating out a great experience. Open tat was the only way I was able to find the gem of a restaurant and will recommend to friends.
My first visit to Tin Roof Bistro, met a friend there who had been on many previous occasions and highly recommended it, I can see why! Their exterior seating is a lovely, spacious, Spanish courtyard with amazing intimate ambiance, but still maintaining ample social distancing. Food portions are large and tasty. Craft cocktails are interesting and delicious, and as weird as the Sailors Revenge cocktail sounds, TRY IT! It is phenomenal, great as a "dessert" drink. Their wine list is also diverse with reasonable prices (including Austin Hope cabernet sauvignon = not to be missed).
Our server, Anya, was friendly, interesting and provided excellent service.
Wonderful evening all the way around, I'll be back.
Samira is wonderful and the best server! Food was great and worth every penny.
From our experience and other reviewers, it is clear that this restaurant is overbooking and continues to do so. We waited 30 minutes and feel lucky our wait was not longer. The sidewalk is jam packed with no social distancing, the hostess was completely overwhelmed with customers upset about their wait time, and there was no management in sight. The wait staff started out good but then our server disappeared, making the 90 minutes we were "allotted" impossible to achieve. Food was good but not great. The wood fired chicken was dry and the salad was overdressed. We were never asked if our food was good and honestly, I don't think this restaurant cares. It's too bad - we liked eating at Tin Roof pre-covid and with the courtyard seating, they have plenty of space to do a better job. While I love that courtyard, the current way of operating will not draw me back.
Our favorite restaurant so glad they didn’t close during Covid. Best place to go with all the rules nowadays. Great feel took my parents for the first time! They Loved it
It was ok. They give you an instant 90 minutes dining limit which I guess is fair right now. I ordered the haystack fries and into my third bite I found the longest brown hair in my food. I was ready to leave right then and there but nu date insisted that we stay. So I stayed and she had the ravioli. When they came they were cold and whatever was on the inside was just mush. She only at 1 and a half out of the 5 or 6 they gave her. The service was nice and except for the guy that kept coming over to ensure we didn’t stay over our 90 minutes which was annoying due to that I didn’t want to be there in the first place. I doubt if i would ever return.
It’s my neighborhood go to. And it always is a favorite!
While the food is excellent it does not over shadow the fact that this restaurant over books their reservations. We have gone twice now and the first time we waited for 1hour and 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The second time we waited 50 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Why take the reservation if you can’t keep the reservation?
Great food with great service! We requested for a private corner in the patio area for 5 guests to celebrate a family member’s birthday. Our server was always on his toes; constantly checking on our food and drinks. That’s why he received a great $45 cash tip.
Whilst the service and food was good, I felt that the restaurant was way too busy for the current situation. There were too many tables - some with large parties of 10 people, and every table was full. We were at a table next to the entrance to the restaurant/patio and had a constant flow of wait staff and guests passing closely by our all evening. This made me nervous with regards to being able to dine in a socially distant way. I went to the restroom during the meal and on both occasions I was the o lot guest wearing a mask. On one trip there were 5 people in the restroom and no masks. These aspects made me uncomfortable and I probably wouldn’t go back again for dinner until after the pandemic.
Went for the porterhouse Thursday special. delish!
☹️ service was not good and food, a spicy tuna roll, took forever to receive, disappointed this time
Ordered the Brussel sprouts and they looked nice but OMG did they dump the entire salt container on them...beware and ask for lightly salted or no salt. Had the special lamb burger that also looked good but again when you went to take a bite the whole patty fell apart and onto the plate. So now it’s more like chop suey on a bun. The taste was okay but over flavored with too many different spices. The salads are all whimsy lettuce and way over dressed. The best is the home made pasta and that’s it! Find another place!
It was my 2nd time there, and I had a wonderful experience again. Keith Chagall and our server made the night exceptional. I'll be back on Tuesday to listen to Keith play. Love him!
Dinner with my son. Food is always great. They are doing a great job providing distance for diners. Service was excellent. My only complaint was the musician was too loud and just not very good.
Thank you so much for the feedback. Glad you had a nice time.
We ordered the spinach lasagna, the short ribs, and the pork chop...all the food was exceptionally well prepared. We were in the courtyard -- they've handled seating and managing reservations well during this covid situation. The service was okay -- it wasn't bad -- it just wasn't exceptional. We spent about $200 for the 4 of us -- included 3 drinks
We'll go back
We always have a great time here. This time, we tried the pork chop and the Billionaire Burger, and they were both amazing!
Love this place!
We love you! Thanks so much for the support
outdoor ambience fantastic GM so friendly and hands on C19 protocols excellent food delicious!
Although Bistro doesn't offer Vegetarian or Vegan entrees.
We had to wait a half hour for our table-had a reservation at 6:30, seated at 7). We were led to a “cozy couch” fire pit table first which is not conducive for dining. The hostess was able to switch it up to a courtyard table by the fountain which was really lovely. We had excellent service and a delicious bottle of wine and all was well with the world after we got seated!
So sorry about the wait! We will continue to guide our guests to keep their experiences to about 90 min so that we can plan all other reservations accordingly. Its a bit tricky at times but we are so glad that once you were seated you have a great time. We'll look forward to seeing you again soon.
Server was amazing! I’m sad I didn’t remember his name. Great customer service from everyone. Food and drinks were absolutely amazing! Definitely will be returning!
Service is great, food was great, never have been disappointed by a Simmzys restaurant. Also, our host Jessica was overly kind and friendly, made the experience even that much better!
Great ambiance, great food . and very friendly service
Hour long wait for reservation. Huge crowd waiting outside
I'm so sorry about the wait AND the crowd. We are clearly still perfecting the reservation threshold and its not our intention to deliver a poor experience. Please forgive us and visit soon. We will continue to improve based on your feedback and others'. Take care and all the best,
The patio was lovely and it was great to be out, at a pleasant and lively place. Wonderful!!!
Our 14 year wedding anniversary dinner was outstanding. The food was delicious and service was great! Thank you for making our day perfect!
I love Tun roof. Letha is amazing!
Was really impressed
Always so delicious and the service wonderful and I dine here once a week!!
see you this week ;)
Wonderful outside patio and front deck area, with live music during the evening hours. Definitely will return. The parking is crummy because of construction, but they have valet parking right out front if you choose to utilize. Food was yummy
The restaurant was busy. We arrived and the table wasn’t ready and we didn’t mind the wait. Hostess was polite and focused on her job. Server was excellent and he knew the menu to a T. Food came out at the same time and it was a very satisfying meal. Thank you Tun room team!
Thank you! We appreciate the feedback and the support. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Waiter was amazing and the food was great. Ambience always relaxing.
It was great. The Wait people were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The outdoor area in the back has a lot of ambience. I will definitely be back.
We'll look forward to seeing you soon!
Great food and a great outdoor dining experience in the Southbay!!!
So happy you enjoyed it and thanks so much for the support!
My server with the dreads was amazing!!!!!
Great service, great food. Felt welcome from the moment I arrived!
We had a 7:30 reservation. Seated at 8:15 with very little apology or offer to come an appetizer or anything. Manager never came by to apologize.
Hostess/ greeter was a bit flippant with her I’m just waiting for tables to leave attitude.
I expect more from this type of restaurant.
Thank you so much Trish. Your feedback is valuable and I'll make sure we use it to learn and improve. If you would please ask for me, Aaron, the next time you're able to join us I would LOVE to buy you an app on the house as a reflection of our apology. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.
Great experience, and great food!
