Tin Lizzy's - Tallahassee
place to work and to meet friends for refreshing margaritas and delicious TexMex cuisine. Soon after, other neighborhoods wanted their own Tin Lizzy’s. We are excited to bring our passion for hospitality and “friends serving friends” mission to new neighborhoods and especially back to Tallahassee.
Loved the outdoor seating. We just popped in for a quick lunch. It was nice.
The food was great we were not in a hurry so that was good. Service was slow but they were clearly short staffed…our server was a rock star and working his tail off.
Hi Julie. Thank you for coming in and for your compliments on our food. It sounds like you may have caught us temporarily undrestaffed but that usually is not a problem and please accept our apologies. We're happy to hear your server was making the best of it and we look forward to having you back soon for what we're sure will be a perfect visit in every way!
The food was awful and it took almost 2 hours
This place is a mess.
This is strictly a college hang out joint. We waited more than 15 minutes after being seated for anyone to even come to ask if we wanted to drink. Service was incredibly slow. Food was OK, nothing special, but pricey for what we got. We had to finally chase down the server through the bartender just to get our check and get out of there. Definitely not a place we would go back to but seems like a place for college kids go hang out.
Something was going on in the back kitchen! Maybe the chef didn’t show up? The place was empty it was Labor Day Monday and the day after a big home game! Maybe all the staff were hung over? Our appetizers came out pretty quick but our mains took an hour an a half! The waitress came over once to let us know they were behind but never asked to refill drinks. When my salad finally did come out there was no dressing! Since waitress was sitting at bar eating my husband walked back to kitchen and ask someone. Everyone else’s food was cold so it was obviously sitting there for a while. Even though there were barely any customers in there we heard the hostess turning people away that wanted food. So there was definitely a problem in the back! I don’t know if I would eat here again maybe I will try different location
Our reservation was for 11:30, however we were informed by snigger family that also had a reservation that the restaurant wouldn’t even open for an hour. I pulled in the door thinking they must be mistaken, nope completely locked. Why take reservations if you’re not even going to be open. It was very disappointing.
Unbelievable how bad it was
Had reservations for 7pm. Was seated on time.
Took 1.5 hours for food to arrive. Everything was cold and my meal had raw chicken. I sent it back and had them just take it off the bill.
So bad. Don’t waste your time and money.
Short staffed servers. Out of most menu items. Stated one cook in kitchen. All around Pitiful. Surprisingly the food items that were in stock and that we did get were good. Food and drinks are way overpriced for what you get. Restaurant is an amazing location and has the potential to be very successful if staff accordingly.
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Took over 30 minutes to get the first and second drinks. After 1:30 we asked to cancel our order to which the waiter told us it would be ready in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later they cancelled all of the food orders in the restaurant. Obviously a rough night but the service should have been better.
Great food and great service
Food was good. The Margaritas were good. Waitstaff was friendly.
The negatives are it's very noisy and all the servers were wearing their masks on their chins.
It’s a super casual place with good food and great service. We were in town for a college visit. We went to dinner on a Saturday night, so it was incredibly and uncomfortably loud for us. My husband measured the noise and it was over 90 decibels! We could not hear each other talk. They did have outside seating, but no available tables. What do you expect from a college restaurant, anyway, right? Maybe it would’ve been a more pleasant experience any other time.
Visit to FSU w my daughter to see college and have a nice dinner! It was awesome food and soo fun 👍
The severs masks were not covering mount an nose
Patrons did. Not wear masks
Lack of social distancing
Food was cold and tasteless- ordered the chips and 3 sauces the cheese one was coagulated, the salad tasted like canned tomato sauce.
The Baja fish tacos were “fishy” and cold
During this pandemic I thought at least the staff should be wearing DIR masks correctly.
Made reservation for 4 and we were seated immediately. It took 20+ minutes for our server to come to the table and take our drink orders. Service from there was even slower. Noise level was off the charts. Not the place for dinner with family. This was my 4th visit, and the noisiest and slowest service of the 4.
On a good note, the food was great as expected. Sunday evening must be party time!!!!!
Server was fantastic and very knowledgeable! Meal was the best meal that we had while in Tallahassee...Definitely will return next time!
Our waitress was the best! She is a perfect example of a great team member. I hope her managers know what a gem they have in her.
Great service and atmosphere! Staff was right amount of attentive and the food was delicious. Visit this restaurant!
Our waitress was struggling. We came back since the last 2 times were so good. Much louder. And waitress disappeared a lot. We had to leave and order drinks at bar she was no where. Tacos are great price and so yummy. But salads.. they forgot dressing. Had to ask 3 different people to please get dressing for grandma.
Tin Lizzy's is one of my favorite fun spots to go when I'm visiting Tallahassee. I can always find a table when I use OpenTable for reservations. My favorite drink is the Detox Margarita. The food is good, too.
The Thai Basil margarita (which tastes nothing like Thai Basil lol) is outstanding and will sneak up on you! This is a casual Tex Mex place in Collegetown and you really can’t go wrong - will be back!
Tin Lizzy's gets a 5 star rating due to the service. We came in last week when FSU was back in session and the place was packed. We ordered some appetizers and ordered food about 10 minutes later. The server was very attentive and was checking on us frequently and refilling waters. He realized the food was taking a long time so brought us extra chips, guac and salsa without us asking. The food took about 45 minutes and before it arrived the manager, John, came over to apologize and tell us the entire meal was comp'd. WOW. We hadn't complained or even questioned the delay because we knew they were busy and I am sure not had a crowd like this in a long time. I told him he didn't need to do that but he felt bad for our wait. He noted many of the kitchen staff were new and adjusting to the volume of orders. For them to offer to comp the meal for 6 people goes above and beyond my expectations. The food was good and we will certainly go back. Service can make all the difference!
Great food and service! LOVE the diversity of the menu. They also are doing a good job with keeping tables spaced for social distancing. All servers were wearing masks. We will be back!
Dinner was fun and delicious! Our table was ready when we arrived and we felt safe
My waiter Tucker was amazing!!! A+++ thank you so much!
Great product and excellent service
We were moving our daughter into FSU. After we were done for the evening we made a reservation. It was quick and easy and great food!
Food is very good. Tacos and homemade tortilla chips are fresh and tasty. We went on a Sunday night and service was poor. It was very busy. We were seated because we had reservations. People waiting outside. The busyness made service drop. Tables clean but seats not. Out of certain food items. Bathrooms messy. 30 minutes to get tacos. So it made for a subpar experience. Took away from the good good. Prices are also good.
We went during covid. Our waiter was awesome. The margarita was ok. They didn’t have any fish (except shrimp) or guacamole. We al ordered the skillets. I got one with grilled veggies and shrimp. The shrimp were way overcooked. My husband and son got another skillet they were ok. We also got the chips, salsa and queso. The salsa wasn’t great. The queso was fine
Best service I have had in a long time !
Vegan taco was wrong and it took so long to get the replacement that we had to get it to go
Beer was served in a broken glass, glad we caught it before it hurt someone
Our server Saul was a rockstar. Awesome service. Food portions are good size. Can’t wait to go back.
They need improve server, wait to long and didn't retuned on time.
Great vibe .
Hit the place with a party of 16 after an FSU basketball win. Excellent service (thanks Saul!) food was outstanding, well laid out facility. College crowd here so noise may be an issue for some...
A hard place to park the car
I made a reservation for the ladies of my family. The restaurant staff from the GM, to the hostess, to the amazing waitress they had made their lunch so special. Thank you! I never go to CollegeTown...we will now
Service was slow as our server didn't have much to do and would sit in a booth with someone she knew chatting and on their phones. Food was good, as usual, and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant so noise level was low.
