Pre/post Theatre
The new Tin Angel is housed in the Grand Lobby of the Eccles Theater at 131 south Main street where it will continue to serve local fare from nearby farmers, distillers and ranchers in an upscale, creative atmosphere. Executive Chef, Jerry Liedtke and Head Chef Cole Lawrence have designed a menu that will flex between small bites and pre fixe dinners on show nights and a full menu throughout the year. Our Sommelier, Lisa Hare has a bar program of interesting wines, craft cocktails, beers and beverages which are sure to dazzle! We will be open for pre show bites and cocktails during every show, as well as a regular schedule of upscale business lunches and dinner even when the theater is dark. With a large Main Street patio and the beautiful setting of the grand lobby, we are sure this will be a much loved dining destination in Downtown SLC for years to come!

I was notified at 4:45p on the day of my 7:00p reservation that it was getting canceled due to construction. I feel that was something that would have been known earlier in the day and I could have been notified much earlier.

I found the environment and the stuff perfect. The over all food was not wort $122.00. I would recommend this place it was cheaper.

Food was extremely good. Menu limited, - (after looking online) but liked the theme of “What’s showing” for the menu. Waiter and busser very good, personable and Fun to talk to. Our only issue was at the end when we had to pay after checking the bill. We were given an iPad with the tip options starting at a minimum of 20%. Ok,... We always tip 20%, or more depending on service (they get 15% only if service is cruddy). Not a big problem, but our waiter stood over my shoulder waiting for me to add tip and sign. This made my wife and I uncomfortable. Yes, they have to wait to get the iPad back, but step away...
Back to “Overall”. Pretty Fabulous. We are sad to know Tin Angel near Pioneer Park is closing - but wish only the Best. We were told the White / kinda sterile atmosphere will change to a more personable atmosphere soon with local art making the new location a Wonderful place to go.

So happy something like this has finally opened at the Eccles! I only have service 3 stars because it was opening weekend and the servers weren’t very familiar with the menu. I imagine that will improve. Food was very fitting for the environment, and considering they can’t cook anything on an open flame, we were very impressed how fresh and tasty everything was. We did not try any of the full meals, however. We stuck to the small plates and tapas. Drinks were fun and creative...and tasty! Excited there’s another good option for dinner before a show!

We love the Tin Angel, and when I saw that they had opened at the Eccles, we ate there before a play. The setting is quite different than we're used to, but the space will be great for them. The food was very good--there was a special menu for during the play (with some dishes and cocktails riffing off the theme of the play)--and we had several tapas & bites. The 4 of us enjoyed our drinks, too. I look forward to eating here again. It would be perfect for lunch, too.
