The new Tin Angel is housed in the Grand Lobby of the Eccles Theater at 131 south Main street where it will continue to serve local fare from nearby farmers, distillers and ranchers in an upscale, creative atmosphere. Executive Chef, Jerry Liedtke has designed a menu that will flex between small bites and pre fixe dinners on show nights and a full menu throughout the year. Our bar program features interesting wines, craft cocktails, beers and beverages. We are open for pre show bites and cocktails during every show, as well as a regular schedule of upscale business lunches and dinner even when the theater is dark. With a large Main Street patio and the beautiful setting of the grand lobby, we are sure this will be a much loved dining destination in Downtown SLC for years to come!

The food was much better at the old location. We arrived & seated and just sat there for quite a long time before anyone noticed us. It took forever to get the wine & food ordered and get it to the table. Underwhelming experience for before the theater. We won’t be returning.

Don't be fooled by the great reviews, as they are sure to plummet. We had the worst dining experience we can remember. No longer the Tin Angel you remember, now located in the Eccles Theater. Bright lights, sterile, zero points for atmosphere..it felt identical to eating at a mall or airport food court. We couldn't wait to head to Hot Topic afterwards. Our server was out there and had no knowledge of the menu, what was worse was he acted like he was serving in a fine dining establishment, major mismatch. He literally shrugged his shoulders when asked what wine pairing he brought out. Our last hope during a major bummer of a dinner out was the food...no such luck..bland, uninteresting and sad. Romaine salad with pink dressing blah, salmon with quinoa so flavorless, beef tenderloin, can't go wrong right? Wrong. Flavorless, with bland potatoes. Out $200 and couldn't be more disappointed. Would never return nor recommend to anyone.

Food was nothing special or unique. It was fine but over priced for just “ok”food. Service was terrible. It seemed that Server hadn’t showered that day and it was evident 😕. Didn’t care about us as soon as they found out we weren’t drinking alcohol. Really really really slow. Water wasn’t promptly filled. Didn’t understand our order. Tables were way too close together so it’s very difficult to have a private conversation-felt like we were on a date with a bunch of strangers. Didn’t allow us to choose how meat was cooked. Just a very average or slightly below experience and not worth what we paid.

This is a very convenient place to grab a bite before a show at the Eccles. It was very busy the night I was there. The maitre de seemed a bit frassed but she was pleasant once she got to me. The wait staff were enthusiastic and service was good. I didn't feel rushed and my order was taken quickly and the drinks and food arrived in good time. The food is "ok". I wouldn't go here if I was not attending a show. There are so many great restaurants close by that I am not sure I would go even if I was attending a show at the Eccles. The prices are fair.

I had read earlier reviews so I knew the new setting lacked atmosphere but due to the convenience I was willing to try. The food was very good but the timing was the worst I have ever experienced. It took 30 minutes to get a round of drinks. After that I told server to bring dishes as ready and not to hold back since we had a concert at 8. My husband and I got our dishes first and I tried to delay but then told other couple we had to eat. Finally third person was served and my daughter was still waiting. Then they brought our salad. When daughter tapas finally arrived I knew to ask for check. Check arrived and was given iPad to sign/ I hesitated looking for a place to add tip. They had already added 20%. I was taken aback but decided to sign as is. I think the problem was the bar/ kitchen more than our server. I would have tipped 20% normally but thought they only added tips for large groups. Will not return. We left for concert while daughter and friend finished alone since they were not going to concert.

The food was very good. The service was not. Our server was rushing about, perhaps understaffed before the Sarah Mclaughlin concert. There were just two of us, we ordered one of the specials and a glass of wine each. The wrong wine came, took a long time to fix the mistake at which time our meal arrived. We had to ask for cutlery, it was brought without napkins so we had to ask for napkins. When it came time to pay the bill we said to simply split the total for each of our credit cards. The hostess/server took multiple tries to get it right, first time full amount with a tip included, second time lesser amount with tip included, etc. We must have been one of the simpler orders so I don’t know how other diners fared. We miss the old Tin Angel location where food and service were always excellent.

I made a reservation with open table , to be able to have a nice meal before the show. The hostess was lovely and apologized for the long wait. It literally took an hour to get a drink and they were very understaffed with servers. I felt the food was also underwhelming.

A little speedy for the limited amount of protein that is in the dish. The food was extremely filling and delicious however. Service was just okay, I’ve definitely had better and lower end restaurants. The atmosphere was lovely and we had an overall good time, the drinks were tasty as well. Paying with a card was the most uncomfortable part of the evening because the server automatically chose a percentage and kind of hovered over us as we paid. Both my husband and I have worked in the customer service industry and always tip well, but this was very awkward and our particular server really didn’t really provide the level of services that she thought she did.
