Tin Acres Kitchen & Market
Food was excellent. I bit warm inside.
Crawfish rigatoni. To die for!
Friendly owner and staff; amazing addition to to available options in this area; very good food
Service was great and nice to have BYOB - food was inconsistent- catfish, shrimp, scallops, great and cooked evenly with good sides- crab cakes were excellent- pork one was overdone with cold sides - other was cooked perfectly- bread was small pieces of stale baguette - would go back as great option for a nice meal close to Enchanted Oaks
Third visit. The is always good to very good. We shared crabcakes (appetizer), Caesar salad, heirloom tomatoes and the chicken w/ pasta entree. There were several larger parties that didn’t believe in speaking at a moderate volume and made it unpleasant until they left. Once they hoot n’ hollered their way elsewhere it was very pleasant and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! The owner (Robert) is very hands-on and genuinely concerned that his guests have an enjoyable time. We’ve already made two more reservations to introduce friends/family to this place. After enduring years of unchecked mediocrity at other restaurants it’s wonderful to have a true destination we can enjoy!
Food was excellent! So nice to have an "upscale food with a relaxed atmosphere" dining experience at Cedar Creek Lake! Our party had crab cakes (excellent), seafood gumbo (tasty, but unfortunately only had andouille sausage and no seafood in our bowl), watermelon and heirloom tomato salad (fabulous), ribeye steak and house special crawfish rigatoni, both delicious. Will definitely be back.
Donna, thrilled to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your experience at Tin Acres. The entire Tin Acres Team appreciates your detailed feedback. Come back soon!
Best new restaurant within 50 miles of lake. Food is 5 stars.
Thanks so much Dave - we appreciate the nice comments and look forward to seeing you again soon!
I have recommended Tin Acres many times, but that past few times we have been there have been a bit disappointing. Steaks are not as good, the tomato basil soup for $10 was horrible...and after you have been there several times, you begin to think the menu is a bit limited. If you do not enjoy seafood, your choice is a steak or pork...the pork Milanese was amazing, the pork tenderloin...not so much. The food is expensive, which I didn't mind when it was amazing...I do mind when it is not as amazing as it was...then I discovered that the Chef has left....probably won't go back. Disappointed.
Mary, We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at Tin Acres. We are sending you an email today in hopes that we can connect to discuss your experience.
Food was wonderful. Some had to wait longer than they should have for their food
This is the 3rd time being here and brought my girlfriends. We weren’t impressed with the Reuben sandwich BUT everything else was delicious. Would have liked to see a couple
light options, maybe a caprese salad, a half sandwich and small salad - something a long that line. Your wait staff is outstanding each and every time. I had the Sicilian tuna and definitely not disappointed!!!
Looking for a new place at cedar creek lake. Stumbled across this place. Food was amazing! Very friendly staff! My husband raved on the gumbo, said it was the best he ever had! We will be back. Please support this establishment as it is true fine dining in the area!
Not impressed at all. Actually felt like we were shoved off to the side and forgotten. We had paper napkins while the rest of the restaurant had cloth, waitress asked for our order before we even received menus. The owner took the time to speak with other tables but never glanced our way. Disappointed because we were excited about this restaurant opening.
TracieS, I am terribly sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at Tin Acres. The owner will be calling you personally to discuss your experience. We appreciate your candor and take your feedback seriously. We hope to earn a second chance with you.
We’re glad that Tin Acres has opened and have enjoyed the menu and setting but by now they should have ironed out the kinks. After making a reservation for 4 on Saturday evening we arrived only to discover that they didn’t have our reservation. We were a bit embarrassed since we had out of town guests with us. We showed the manager our reservation confirmation but he replied that they’re still trying to figure out how to take reservations and unfortunately we could perhaps come back in an hour or so and they might have something available. Sounds like TA jumped out of the starting blocks and were not quite prepared in the front of house department.
We had Saturday brunch. The server was very friendly and attentive. Love the in-house coffee and the unique coffee cups. The French toast with fresh fruit was great and a generous serving. The eggs Benedict was perfect with freshly made hollandaise. Look forward to having dinner there soon. This is a welcome addition for the CCL area.
Finally excellent food at Cedar Creek Lake. Chef Gaspar is amazing. The filet was the best I can remember having in years.
Savannah is a great server.
So happy Tin Acre is here!!
Finally a legitimate high quality restaurant at Cedar Creek Lake. The filet is as good as you will find in a top Dallas restaurant. Good variety of choices and a molten lava cake to die for.
Owners are hands on and pleasant even when large crowds overwhelm the space. BYOB keeps the tab down while allowing you to bring your own choice of wine.
Go often- we need this place to stay open!
Our birthday celebrant was treated so graciously. Look so forward to returning. Definitely recommend.
The food was great. Loved the atmosphere. Waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious food. Very attentive staff. A wonderful addition to lake food options.
Great addition to the area which is kind of a restaurant desert. Hopefully they will continue to work on consistency and staff appropriately for their volume. Food was generally well-prepared but a little on the bland side. Need sides like French bread to accompany main dishes. Very nice people, we all want them to be successful!
We were very excited to have a new "upscale" offering at Cedar Creek Lake. With that said our 39th anniversary choice was to go try and share our experience with friends at the lake. I made a reservation for 7pm. Arrived at 6:55pm to 3 other couples also waiting, no acknowledment made. Every table full. Very loud-- way too loud. The restaurant was warm, excessively. We asked at 7:07pm (with three tables now leaving) could we be seated- you are next we were told, we were last at a table in the corner with folding chairs! I am on a cane from knee surgery and that was hard! Had to ask for tea & water and repeatedly for refills. It was obvious to us a busboy was needed and a person to refill glasses on a hot day. Odd, kitchen people were taking pictures of the crowd...great, come fill some glasses if you aren't cooking. The food was excellent. The place is small. I hope they outgrow this space and go to one with excellent air & more staff. We will give it another try very soon.
Outstanding in every way! Best place in town. You will not be disappointed
Thanks so much Kristih. Appreciate the solid feedback!
Food and service were great. BYOB was nice feature. Definitely a great option for Cedar Creek Lake. Perhaps best food experience I’ve had at lake in over 30 years.
What a great addition to the Gun Barrel City/Mabank area! The gumbo is as good as it gets! Tin Acres is a charming restaurant with excellent service.
New(er) restaurant at the lake. The food is very good and stands out in an area replete with mediocre dining choices. We had gumbo and crab meat, both of which were excellent. The steak was just right and very tender. Our grandsons were with us and the staff had kids food waiting (call ahead and give them a heads up!). We’re looking forward to our next trip!
thought the soup/muffuletta/burger was very very good! Chef allowed no modifications on the Reuben, but we still enjoyed other menu items.. Waitress very attentive to our requests!
I've had a busy month. Client dinners in LA, Atlanta and Dallas. But I just had the best meal I've had in all that time, in...Payne Springs, TX (Pop 767)!?! I've got to be kidding, right? No, I'm not. Tin Acres is an oasis of fine dining in a vast expanse of chain restaurants and mediocre alternatives. I'll tell you what I've had and why I'll be back. Warm Lobster Salad ($16). This knocked my socks off. Lobster was fresh, tender and delicious. Served with olive-sized potatoes and sliced grape tomatoes. I wanted to lick my plate. For entrees, I've tried the Seafood Linguini ($22), Fantastic! Scallops were meaty and tender. Lots of small tasty shrimp, again the sauce was heavenly. And, tonight, I asked the chef to pick my entree. He chose the Pork Milanese. I haven't ordered pork in 30 years, but Lord, if I'm going to be convicted to pork, please imprison me at Tin Acres. It was delicious. Tender, juicy, crisp crust. Oh my. Tin Acres is BYOB (which I LOVE), and it's small so you should make a reservation. The service was fantastic. This place is definitely a dining experience that's way beyond anything not requiring a long drive from Cedar Creek. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is there's still room for "finishing touches." If I'd had some fresh, crusty bread to mop up the sauce from the seafood dishes, I might have been moved to tears. A woman at the table next to me ordered the Tuna Tartar and while the dish looked amazing, the crackers looked Keebler. This tiny little gem is only 3 minutes from our home, but I'd drive 30 minutes to eat there again if I had to. Well done Tin Acres!
WOW! So very grateful to you for this glowing review. Means the world to our entire team.
They have recently opened, still getting some kinks out, however, food is good, owner and staff very pleasant.
Hope they get liquor license soon. BYOB
Exceeded our expectations. Fresh food. Prompt service. They want you to be happy.
So glad that we made you happy!
Nice local place with good food and dream service Crab appetizer and pork medallions were wonderful.
Excellent new restaurant at Cedar Creek Lake. Very accommodating staff and super quaint environment. Appetizers were excellent - creative and well executed. The entrees were very good. All in all a great experience. The menu is very small and seems to change daily. There were 2 fish and one pork entree on menu so for some guests you may need to call ahead to check. I would strongly recommend reservations as it’s catching on fast!!
Glad to see nice food come to town
So happy to have this at the lake! We will be back.
Fresh ingredients galore! What a quaint environment. I believe only 8 tables so it is really a neat experience. The coffee they sell to take home is also delicious. We needed a place like this. I highly recommend. Breakfast, lunch AMD dinner we have tried it all-and they have only been opened two weeks.
Food was fabulous!! Very nice owners. Service needs some work, they will get it down only been open 5days!
Shirley, we appreciate the kind words and support. We are realizing daily improvements with our service.
Great personal touch by the owners. Gaspar is a great chef and knows his way around the kitchen. The French onion soup was made from sweet Texas onions and the caramelization added to the sweetness...almost as if sugar was added....not what I expected but it could almost be desert.
dinerfeb, thank you! I have shared your feedback with Gaspar.
Tried this place in Mabank, Tin Acres Kitchen & Market, it wasn’t all that great. I could have spent less and got a better meal at Olive Garden. There were shell pieces in the gumbo, only get four ravioli pieces for $10, the main dishes were okay, but not much flavor. I would not go back, but thought I would share so you are in the know.
David, thank you for the candid feedback and for taking the time to review us. We are sorry that you had a bad experience at Tin Acres and while you state here that you will not return, we hope that you will give us another shot. We have taken all constructive feedback from our opening week and are actively working out our bugs.
Super excited about this new restaurant. Trying to make another reservation and can’t do it without this survey.
Well thought out décor and arrangement. Very cute outside and in. Our server Natalie provided timely, attentive service and didn't hover. Breakfast food was great. I appreciate the brief menu - that shows that everything is made fresh by hand. Great quality ingredients and very attractive food prep and presentation.
Still working out some little startup and learning curve challenges, but Allison the owner greeted us and made us aware up front. So much more appreciated and professional than just letting people be surprised or disappointed later. Can't wait to go back again.
