We opened our doors Saturday May 27th 2017. After looking and working in various pop-up locations and farmers markets, we found an enormous 5,000 sq ft old family style restaurant that has been working in Guerneville,CA for about 60 years. We hope to provide a nostalgic look and feeling of the past with our unique style of traditional comfort food and Sonoma County flair we're calling "Rustic Cabin Cuisine. "

Food and staff were fantastic, as usual.
Went here for Valentine's Day dinner and was so wonderful. The host, bartender and waiter were wonderful. Thank you!
Food was excellent. Homemade soup, appetizers and dessert. The New York steak was a good size. Very good service!
If you are looking for something "off the beaten path" - this is your place! Seemed to be many locals enjoying the limited, but TASTY menu. I ADORED the meatloaf!! (Beef, Turkey and BACON!! - Come on - what could be better?) We DID find it odd that there was no bread or rolls made available, especially with a salad. Loved the full bar and the people watching from the upstairs window!!
Dinner on vacation, reservation for after the super bowl. Food was a generous portion of home-cooked comfort food, as advertised. Larry the owner/host was warm and welcoming and also very informative and helpful “tour guide” for the area. Recommend to all! Enjoyable evening!
Excellent experience and awesome prime rib. We lived the owner as well very courteous and efficient. Thank you
Huge, portions, delicious food and wine. Great service. Very friendly and welcoming.
Larry was awesome! Food delicious. We loved this place.
Laid back dining / good food.
Loved the atmosphere and Larry makes it so homey. We enjoyed our dinner at a leisurely pace and loved looking out the great windows.
Whenever I go to Timberline, I know I will have wonderful food. Haven't been disappointed yet.
Made reservations and restaurant was closed... manager was out of town and didn't block opentable from making reservations. Walked next door and had the most amazing dinner at Betty Spaghetti....
When we arrived the host was busy speaking with other guests and didn't acknowledge our presence until the bartender had seated us after a wait. The restaurant was freezing cold and we never took our jackets off. The food was good, as hoped, but the prices were very high for what we ordered. With the quality of restaurants in Guerneville improving steadily, the Timberline is behind the trend.
Our host and the staff of Timberline was great. It felt very much like a casual lodge feel with good food. Since we were there for Thanksgiving dinner, we had the traditional turkey dinner buffet, with great sautéed green beans, roast turkey and ham, cornbread stuffing, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. My sister had the prime rib, and she said it was the best she has had in a very long time. She ordered it medium rare and it was just the way she ordered it. The prime rib was huge! Would definitely like to go back again for a regular meal. Seating was great in the bar with large plate glass windows looking out into the town of Guerneville. Thanks!
We selected this place because it was one of the few places open in Guerneville for Thanksgiving (Thursday) - and were very glad we did! They had an AYCE turkey+all the trimmings (which my husband got) as well as the "only-on-Sat&Sun" prime rib (which I got). Starved from a day hiking in the redwoods, I shamelessly stuffed my face from my hub's turkey plate while waiting for my meat to arrive - which the Timberline people kindly tolerated. The ambiance felt like a mix of visitors with a good pinch of residents thrown in. It felt quite comfortable with everyone relaxing, eating, & hanging out. Almost like family. One of the owners wandered by to see how we were doing, which was nice. The food was very good. (I see some complaints about the price, but restaurants in this region to generally be on the pricey side, and did not find it out of line here.) I always critique the veggies, and the sides here were cooked well with crisp-tender green beans & well roasted/seasoned brussel sprout. I found their "rustic cabin cuisine" great!
We had a great evening, the place was everything we were looking for. Our server was outstanding, ambience great and food and service the best.
Food and service was excellent. Very friendly owner visited with us at our table and provided input for our meal and local wines.
This restaurant is only open Friday and Saturday. Why Open Table offers reservations at other times is beyond me. The patrons at the bar next door told us it is very common for people to wander in - thought they had a reservation.
We were very disappointed in Timberline. We arrived a few minutes early for a 7 p.m. reservation. It took a few minutes to seat us and another 20-25 minutes to get menus and water. At that time, we were told they were out of one entree and almost out of another. That left us 5 entrees from which to choose. We decided to stay because it was Saturday night and we were afraid other restaurants would be too crowded. In hindsight, we probably should have taken our chances. We ordered. We finally got our food at about 8:30. The food was edible, but not great. It appeared only one person was serving tables. We were just visiting in Guerneville and trusted reviews when we booked Timberline, but we can't recommend it.
Way too expensive for what you get. The food was mediocre & the ambiance was not what you'd expect for that price.
Timberline has such experienced and friendly staff with great food, too!
Ahh. Not the restaurant's fault. You posted an open table on a night that they are closed. The rating is for open table, not the establishment. We really loved this place last two times.
We were very happy with our experience at Timberline! Everyone loved their dish and we all left with very full bellies, and we still had left overs! Great food, great value, and an even better beer and wine selection. Larry, the owner, introduced himself to us and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back next time we are in Guerneville.
We were in town celebrating our anniversary and came here for dinner. Everything was excellent. The place is a little dated, but that doesn't bother us and we enjoyed looking out the big windows. Service was amazing and we would definitely go back!
Very expensive for what it was. Extremely overpriced. 25$ for a salad , 24$ for classic fish and chips. It’s an old funky place, we should have just left.
Waited over an hour for our food.
Sunday brunch was great - and even better for me at work in the neighborhood - to-go! I grab lunch on Fridays and Saturdays regularly and always have at least two lunches worth of food. And after work, Timberline is a great dinner spot too. I can have an adult beverage (or more than one) and dinner is usually big enough to box up half for lunch the next day or a late snack. Our office hosted a business lunch mid-week and they set the room up for us perfectly! The tables were arranged for easy conversations and food was great too. I've had the nicest service every time I visit or call in an order. I know it helps that I'm a regular, but even my friends and co-workers that don't get in as often are treated well and have fantastic meals. The restaurant has two main spaces - the front bar and dining room facing the street with fantastic views and people watching and a large woodstove for cold days (I love sitting next to it!) - and the LARGE back dining room and separate bar or big groups, business meetings, live music and events. All-in-all, The new owners are doing a great job supporting the community and offering yummy food for those of us that are on a bit of a budget and want to make things last!
We had the fish and chips and the Fresh Salmon... food was good and there was plenty of it! Owner was very friendly and our server was quick and attentive. Had a good view of the town.
Delicious fresh special! We were coming from a long day and the meal was very very good.
Awesome restaurant & amazing staff. We came in for a birthday celebration. The whole staff treated us incredibly, decorating our table & bringing us a cake. Timberline is awesome...we will definitely be back!
Exactly what we were in the mood for and wonderful service!
The food and atmosphere was perfect after a day of wine tasting. The fresh tuna was exquisite.
It was St Patricks Day, Great Cornbeef and cabbage!, We also had the salmon in our group, it was excellent. I would recommend this place for every event. Thanks to Larry, one of the owners, he does a great job of hosting and meal planning, and more! Love the place.
OK, so this review is definitely influenced by the fact it took over an hour to get some food on our table, and none of the wine we ordered was available. People who arrived after us got their starters and main already by the time we got our meal. We had been seated for a while before anyone even came to serve us., we had booked a table so its not like we just turned up ad hoc.
We wanted to order some wine, they boast a good wine list, but nearly every wine we asked for was not available, because they were 'updating the wine list'. finally we asked for yet another option, and were told they definitely had that one, but a little later the waiter came back, with two glasses of something completely different and said they were out of the other one, but this was close to it! We we not wowed by it but It was already becoming a bit of a comedy sketch!
Had expectations of some good simple comfort food, and it could have been so good, but unfortunately after waiting for an age, the Pork chop I had was overcooked, and had to be sawn through, it was a good cut of meat so it was just poor cooking. My husband had the Steak which was OK, again a little overcooked, and nothing to write home about, the meal got eaten because we were starving, and actually at the point of cancelling our order and looking for somewhere else to eat.
Needless to say our date night with simple easy comfort food, was a bit of a shambles:
slow service
even slower food arrival
overcooked
out of wines listed
A table of 18 people arrived 30mins after we got there, god knows when they got to eat!
We wanted to support this restaurant, but it didn't support us in return! Sorry, must try harder. Maybe it was an off day?
Nice everyday bar & food joint. Stick to the basics & chill with the locals. Solid beer selection & tap & great views of the town.
Delicious pork chop & fried chicken. Great selection of draft beers at a fair price. I loved the atmosphere and the service. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in Guerneville!
Amazing prime rib and local salmon dinners. Great, friendly service. Good drinks and great atmosphere in the dinning room. We will be back.
We had so much fun here. The food was perfect. We were a party of 6, and the food and service was flawless
Excellent!
