Timber Woodfire Bistro
Cooking in this way imparts a slight smokiness as it brings out the natural flavors of the food. A juicy ribeye sizzles and caramelizes, giving the tender beef a gorgeous crust. The homemade dough for our pizzas rises in the heat, and the crust gets to be the perfect combination of crisp and chewy. Vegetables share an entirely new flavor profile when cooked over wood. Dining at Timber brings an experience both classic and innovative. Come eat and drink with us as you watch our fireflies dance above the wood-fired grill.

This is the third time that we have dined at Timber Woodfire Bistro. The first time was the week it opened. My bad. Shame on me. Service was iffy and the food was cold. The second time was approximately 6 months ago. Service was slow and the food was just OK. Tonight, I was hoping for a better experience. We were 5 mins early for our reservation, were seated immediately, and were informed of the special restaurant week menu by a delightful young host. After being seated, in a mostly empty restaurant, we sat for 20 mins without a nod or observation from a server for water, drinks etc.. This is not to say that servers had not gone by our table. On the contrary, three different ones had walked by at least twice. Needless to say, after 20 mins of waiting for a server in a sparsely seated restaurant, we got up and left. Three strikes and you’re out. Never going back.
Great food, drinks, and service! Very happy with our visit and will return!
This was our first visit to Timber. We will be back
This was the best meal I have had in a long time. We got some selections from the happy hour menu to share and were not disappointed in anything!
Not impressed. The menu was good but a bit overpriced. The wine list was so-so and the server's knowledge of the wine list was nil. Four of us would have enjoyed Happy Hour while waiting for the other 2 in our party but we couldn't because we were at a table. Overall, don't plan to go back.
Our waitress was very attentive and our food was exceptional.
Excellent meal and drinks! My wife said best chicken every eaten at a restaurant!
It was a good time, food was full of flavor, service was perfect. Not to much attention but not lacking either. I highly suggest you skip the reviews on this thing and stop in and form your own opinion. We would have never went to this location had we read the biased reviews of so called "foodies" on here. What makes them a foodie? Are they obese, or Chefs?
I had the Scallop and Risotto dish was prepared ok but the dish truly did not have much flavor nor did it leave me wishing for me. Hubby had that burger and also stated it was OK but nothing that was a wow factor. Took forever to get our drinks and waiter never brought our salads and it wasn't even that busy...plenty of open tables on a Saturday night. Great location and atmosphere....Food was just OK, meh!
I have been to timber for many occasions and left pleased each time, except for this visit. Our service was slow and many things needed to be repeated as our server had to come back to the table multiple times to confirm what we wanted to order. When it came to splitting the bill, we had to have the receipts printed four times because they were divided incorrectly. Our server seemed unwilling to just write down what needed to be split and it took over 20 minutes before we could pay our bills. I left very perturbed over the experience and something that was served to us did not sit right and left multiple people in the party feeling ill for over 24 hours. I am not sure if I will return now, which is very disappointing given how highly I thought of Timber prior to this experience.
Food and service were exceptional. Ambiance could normally be great, but they seated a family with a screaming kid next to us. That put a real damper on the experience.
We’ve been here several times and never been disappointed. The Warm Board appetizer is one of our favorites. I gave it four stars for food on this occasion only because we ordered the chocolate cake as dessert to share with our friends and it was salty. Initially we thought it was the salted caramel topping but it seemed to be added to the actual cake batter as well. It wasn’t something anyone in our party of 4 cared for. I gave ambience four stars because the air conditioning was set to an uncomfortably cold dining temperature on the night we were there, though this hasn’t been an issue in the past. I still highly recommend!
Service was very good our waitress was very attentive. Venue was pleasant and well appointed.
Loved the menu, everything sounded great. However the execution of the food was not quite there. I ordered the Benedict, sauce was great, but the egg was really over cooked, eggs Benedict should be soft poached. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles, it was okay, his egg was also really over cooked, and the waffle needed a little more flavor. Service was excellent, very impressed with the staff. The drinks were okay, a little too much on the sweet side. But loved the concept of bottomless drinks for brunch. I think this place could be awesome if they fine tuned a couple of things.
Great staff! Noticed every detail. We sat outside and it was really lovely and quiet. The food was tasty. My brother felt he should have another steak medallion on his plate, but I had a half chicken.
Our server was wonderful, and the food was terrific. We especially enjoyed the Timber Fries and the French Onion Soup!
Since Lot 2 closed we have been looking for a regular place to brunch with our grown kids and their significant others. Arranging schedules is hard enough so it's nice to be able to have a place we can make a reservation and that has my husband's required items, sausage gravy and biscuits and jalapeno bacon. We'll be back😊
We have been at Timbers on several occasions, it has been wonderful every time. It is close to us, and we love it!
Hooked from my first visit and I will be back!
My wife and I enjoy trying different restaurants. This one was a recommendation from a friend. I am happy I made reservations. The scallops were spectacular. Cooked to perfection. My wife enjoyed her cedar plank salmon. We will go again. I will try this place for business lunches in the future.
Great food and staff, but prices are way too high. Very quiet for a Friday night mostly due to low number of guests. Enjoyed the food but $16 for a burger plus $2 more for fries is too much. Chicken dinner was $23 with a side of potatoes.
I wish them well, but we've been frustrated most times we've been there with the serive. We sat on the patio twice in the past 2 weeks, and each time we had to go inside to find our waitress (twice) to get our coffee cups refilled at breakfast, or to get another glass of wine ordered at dinner. They weren't even that busy each time
We all thought the food was fantastic with many unusual options. It is also nice and quiet so a great place to take friends or family and have a nice visit without having to talk over a lot of noise.
Date night good experience
We had a wonderful time with great service! We love going there!
Yummy food. Light pours on mixed drinks and not your usual selection of whiskies or vodkas. Convenient central Omaha location. Wait staff is friendly and efficient, however this is the second time (out of about 10 visits) that the restaurant was understaffed - this visit, the 'hold up' seemed to be in the kitchen.
Honestly the food was not great. The scallops were small so I don’t think they were cooked well and the “pork steak” tasted burnt until you got to the middle. The meatballs were great and the service was outstanding. I was expecting better food
Food was great service was good
Incredibly slow. 45 minutes to get simple brunch order - there was only 2 of us. They tried to blame it on “Fathers Day”, “Large Group before Us”, “Cook was out” - the excuses couldn’t justify that people that came in 20 minutes after us were eating while we still waited. This establishment is a mile from our home - we tried it 3 times and will never return.
We went for Father's Day Brunch. Food was good! Croque Madame woodfire pizza was exceptional as were the cocktails. Server forgot an order and gave my 6 year old nephew the angel food cake french toast instead of the kids french toast so he was all hopped up on sugar but it was yummy.
Food was excellent and our server, Carrie, made the evening even more special. She was excellent! It was the perfect birthday and Fathers Day celebration for my father. Thank you!
Food was overpriced and inconsistent. The $18 cheeseburger was just okay. The Mac and cheese was not consistently warm and it was really an Alfredo. The s'mores dessert could have been good if the pudding was heated. They put toasted marshmallows on cold pudding. The service was excellent and the atmosphere great. It's too bad the food is not better.
Our group of 10 middle to senior aged couples dine at a restaurant during the late afternoon on each Saturday. Couples select a venue by rotation using their last name in alphabetical order. My wife and I try to select a new restaurant when it is our turn and during our Internet search, we saw the Timber Woodfire Bistro. We noted that the restaurant is affiliated with Railcar Modern American Kitchen. Our group has dined there twice and my wife and family have been there on several other occasions, so Timber Woodfire Bistro was a "lock." We had a total of eleven attending in our group last Saturday. Everyone's meal was prepared to perfection and there were no disappointments which is a miracle since we have a couple of "grumpy old men" in our group who could have been movie stand-in's for Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon and Burgess Meredith! The wait staff was superb, the service exemplary and the atmosphere marvelous. I would highly recommend the Timber Woodfire Bistro to anyone because we intend to dine there many times again.
The chicken was dry. Overall a great looking menu, but my meal was overcooked.
The food was delicious and lunch portions just right! This will be my new go-to for business lunches.
Sunday evening birthday party with 8 adults. Food and service provided a warm and relaxed atmosphere where we could visit and enjoy the evening. We liked the range of different meal choices and found the Test Kitchen Mai mai delicious in particular. The lamb burgers were praised and only the eggplant sandwich was a bit daunting due to its height. Brochette was delicious. Server was personable, efficient and unobtrusive.
We asked for a quiet table and were accommodated. The service was good. My fish entree was tasty my husbands lamb chop was tough. All in all a good experience. I just wouldn’t order the chop
Don’t waste your money! Wood smell is amazing but the food doesn’t live up to the appearance. Looks good but bland & poorly executed.
Overall very enjoyable. Interesting menu and nice wine list. Will be back.
