Timber Woodfire Bistro
Cooking in this way imparts a slight smokiness as it brings out the natural flavors of the food. A juicy ribeye sizzles and caramelizes, giving the tender beef a gorgeous crust. The homemade dough for our pizzas rises in the heat, and the crust gets to be the perfect combination of crisp and chewy. Vegetables share an entirely new flavor profile when cooked over wood. Dining at Timber brings an experience both classic and innovative. Come eat and drink with us as you watch our fireflies dance above the wood-fired grill.

Great food and staff, but prices are way too high. Very quiet for a Friday night mostly due to low number of guests. Enjoyed the food but $16 for a burger plus $2 more for fries is too much. Chicken dinner was $23 with a side of potatoes.
I wish them well, but we've been frustrated most times we've been there with the serive. We sat on the patio twice in the past 2 weeks, and each time we had to go inside to find our waitress (twice) to get our coffee cups refilled at breakfast, or to get another glass of wine ordered at dinner. They weren't even that busy each time
We all thought the food was fantastic with many unusual options. It is also nice and quiet so a great place to take friends or family and have a nice visit without having to talk over a lot of noise.
Date night good experience
We had a wonderful time with great service! We love going there!
Yummy food. Light pours on mixed drinks and not your usual selection of whiskies or vodkas. Convenient central Omaha location. Wait staff is friendly and efficient, however this is the second time (out of about 10 visits) that the restaurant was understaffed - this visit, the 'hold up' seemed to be in the kitchen.
Honestly the food was not great. The scallops were small so I don’t think they were cooked well and the “pork steak” tasted burnt until you got to the middle. The meatballs were great and the service was outstanding. I was expecting better food
Food was great service was good
Incredibly slow. 45 minutes to get simple brunch order - there was only 2 of us. They tried to blame it on “Fathers Day”, “Large Group before Us”, “Cook was out” - the excuses couldn’t justify that people that came in 20 minutes after us were eating while we still waited. This establishment is a mile from our home - we tried it 3 times and will never return.
We went for Father's Day Brunch. Food was good! Croque Madame woodfire pizza was exceptional as were the cocktails. Server forgot an order and gave my 6 year old nephew the angel food cake french toast instead of the kids french toast so he was all hopped up on sugar but it was yummy.
Food was excellent and our server, Carrie, made the evening even more special. She was excellent! It was the perfect birthday and Fathers Day celebration for my father. Thank you!
Food was overpriced and inconsistent. The $18 cheeseburger was just okay. The Mac and cheese was not consistently warm and it was really an Alfredo. The s'mores dessert could have been good if the pudding was heated. They put toasted marshmallows on cold pudding. The service was excellent and the atmosphere great. It's too bad the food is not better.
Our group of 10 middle to senior aged couples dine at a restaurant during the late afternoon on each Saturday. Couples select a venue by rotation using their last name in alphabetical order. My wife and I try to select a new restaurant when it is our turn and during our Internet search, we saw the Timber Woodfire Bistro. We noted that the restaurant is affiliated with Railcar Modern American Kitchen. Our group has dined there twice and my wife and family have been there on several other occasions, so Timber Woodfire Bistro was a "lock." We had a total of eleven attending in our group last Saturday. Everyone's meal was prepared to perfection and there were no disappointments which is a miracle since we have a couple of "grumpy old men" in our group who could have been movie stand-in's for Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon and Burgess Meredith! The wait staff was superb, the service exemplary and the atmosphere marvelous. I would highly recommend the Timber Woodfire Bistro to anyone because we intend to dine there many times again.
The chicken was dry. Overall a great looking menu, but my meal was overcooked.
The food was delicious and lunch portions just right! This will be my new go-to for business lunches.
Sunday evening birthday party with 8 adults. Food and service provided a warm and relaxed atmosphere where we could visit and enjoy the evening. We liked the range of different meal choices and found the Test Kitchen Mai mai delicious in particular. The lamb burgers were praised and only the eggplant sandwich was a bit daunting due to its height. Brochette was delicious. Server was personable, efficient and unobtrusive.
We asked for a quiet table and were accommodated. The service was good. My fish entree was tasty my husbands lamb chop was tough. All in all a good experience. I just wouldn’t order the chop
Don’t waste your money! Wood smell is amazing but the food doesn’t live up to the appearance. Looks good but bland & poorly executed.
Overall very enjoyable. Interesting menu and nice wine list. Will be back.
The atmosphere is relaxing, the waitress was awesome, food was amazing. The prices allowed for a variety of dining options. I personally ordered and or tasted the focaccia bread appetizer which was fresh out of the oven, the appetizer meatballs which were crispy and unique and super flavorful and the Bucatini Mac & Cheese which was a large enough portion to bring half of it home with me.
We entered restaurant and sat at our table for over 10 minutes while four servers came by to say they would be with us shortly. Finally a fifth server came, we ordered wine and then after we tasted it took two other servers to bring our drink order. Lots of servers but chaotic and extremely unorganized. There were very few people in restaurant which only adds to our frustration.
We will not be back!
Love this place. Great attention to detail in the menu and execution. Very good wine list.
We were relieved to find Timberwood had returned to its previous self. The last time we ate there nothing went well!! This time it was back to a previous level of very good food, good service, and great ambience!
Incredible food as always! Celebrating 3 birthdays with a large group. The service was awesome.
Best cedar plank salmon I have ever tasted. Carmel soy glaze and salmon cooked perfectly. Nice wine and beer selection, excellent wood grilled beef and pork, and their pizzas and flatbreads are great. Solid value, excellent service.
Service was perfect - we always had everything we needed, good recommendations on both food and wine and no hovering. Food was fantastic - I love the seafood options and really love the gluten free items and notations on the menu.
Great choice for vegetarians.
My dining experience is always FABULOUS at Timber Woodfire Bistro. I think it is the most under-rated restaurant in Nebraska. The food is always spectacular, the staff are WONDERFUL, and the environment is very fun and enjoyable.
Our first time, tried Sunday combo special, was very good. Wedge salad is outstanding. We had the bread appetizer which was excellent also. We were pretty full before the pizza and pasta, but is was very good.
Love this place! Great service and even better food!
I love Timber. My only complaint is that it seem to my family and I that the food takes forever to arrive. We feel like the service of the wait staff is good, attentive, friendly etc. but compared to other restaurants eating at Timber takes way too long.
We were celebrating a high school graduation and Mother’s Day. I did add that info when booking trough a Open Table but it wasn’t recognized by the restaurant during dinner.
The food I received was not what I ordered from the menu. The restaurant switched the beef ribs on the menu to pork ribs. The restaurant didn’t charge me for the dinner but it wasn’t what I wanted to eat.
Overall, the service was fine but the experience was below our expectations.
Had great service and everyone loved what they ordered.
I had the beef tips and the beef was cooked exactly how I like it. The halibut was wonderful too
Will definitely be going back. Been there 3 times and have not been disappointed
Mother's Day treat - comfortable but special. Great flavors.
Had our first dinner here for Mother’s Day with the family and mother-in-law. Great food and atmosphere, the dishes were unique which is always a plus. Amazing flavors in all of the dishes with great combinations that compliment each other, the wood fire process adds just enough extra. Servers were great and were able to answer any questions about the dishes. My wife is a vegetarian and there were plenty of choices for her. We will definitely be dining here again.
Timber has a lovely and inviting atmosphere with firewood stacked throughout the restaurant. There is a nice bar and another bar situated around their kitchen and ovens. The menu has plenty of choices and a nice mix of drinks to go along with it. I've been there for a dinner for two and a large family brunch and both were great experiences. My only negative and it is ironic considering the firewood and ovens is that I've been cold both times. There seems to be registers everywhere and they are always blowing down on you.
Great food and atmosphere. It was Mother's Day so we expected it to be busy, but the service was fantastic. We will be back for date date night!
Service has continued to plague this place. 4th time I've been there and unfortunately it's always had marginal service. The strange thing is it's ownership I think is the same as the Rail Car which has great food and service. I like the location, atmosphere and menu...I hope they can get the service figured out as it's reason enough not to go there!
