Cap a thrilling day on the mountain with an intimate ending at Timber Room with a loved one or small group of friends. Toast to the moment with expertly crafted whiskey-forward cocktails and our extensive champagne selection around a warming fireplace or the commanding bar. When it’s time to dine, elevated small plates meant for sharing have a touch of Old World flair, whether it’s Devilish Eggs with shaved black truffle or a Timber Room baked potato topped with crème fraîche and Russian osetra caviar. Sophisticated, yet always approachable modern mountain dishes range from line-caught wild salmon with lemon caper butter to Rocky Mountain elk loin with local huckleberry jus.

Perfect place to grab a great drink and some interesting food. My husband and especially enjoyed their duck terrine, the croque monsieur, and the elk tartare. Atmosphere was outstanding.

Such a great meal. Service was superb amd the proprietor was personally very attentive to us. Wines by the glass are healthy pours which is great. And they have Great wines by the glass such as The Prisoner and Belle Glos. Loved the elk! We will be back!

We tried three of the shared plates and found only one of them to be any good. We didn’t even finish our meal as the food lacked flavor. Both the ambience and food presentation were nice but with their prices I will not be back. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Best food in Telluride! The ‘feast’ platters live up to their names - chosen protein on a cutting board surrounded by gorgeous delicious roasted veggies. Gonna go back ASAP

When we arrived for our reservation and were finally seated we were alerted to the fact that they were not serving the menu from The Timber Room that evening because they were training a new chef. They were serving the Black Iron Menu instead. This menu at Timber Room is very unique and the reason we chose to dine at the restaurant. Because we had had our reservation for about a month, I would have appreciated the courtesy of a phone call to let us know we were not going to have the dining experience we were expecting. We were really disappointed. I would have preferred to dine there another time when they were serving the real menu but felt a little trapped once seated and water poured to get up and leave.

Food is amazing although egregiously overpriced ($98 baked potato, entrees all market priced- designed to share however Elk for two is $120). Both the steak ($98) and the elk came with grilled veggies that were delicious. Deviled eggs and charcuterie board were both very good as well.

Service was non-existent, which I recognize is due to labor shortage in Telluride currently, but to charge these prices and be treated this way is reaply unacceptable. We had a reservation, were seated immediately but then no one came to the table for 15 minutes. It is kind of a cocktail atmosphere, so I asked the bartender if we were supposed to order with him and he was very nice and said he would get our waitress. Waited 10 more minutes and then went back to hostess who had seated us to ask where waitress was and she completely had no idea who I was (literally said “Did you just sit down outside or did you have a reservation?!”). When I reminded her that SHE sat us she was like “oh, yea, hang on”. We then finally got our waitress, ordered everything from drinks to entrees which was a good idea because we ONLY saw her again two more times: once when she asked if we needed more drinks (all of ours were empty including our waters- she never brought our second round btw) and one other time when she brought my credit card back (I had to ask a different waitress to bring the check and then take the check with my cc up to the hostess to run it). When the runners brought our entrees, they had no idea which one was the elk and which was the steak and told us that and also never returned with the answer. The service could not have been worse it was like a comedy honestly. But as long as you go into it with a sense of humor you will persevere. Feedback to the restaurant would be if you are that short-staffed, then offer only cocktails and cheap pub food and folks will forgive you.

Very noisy. Extremely small tables with large platters is that food comes on. Send me eat we would’ve gotten a second cocktail if someone came around to ask. Food was good but expensive.

Vastly overpriced. Same food as Black Iron with 200% mark up. They made a mistake with the remodel. Not as spacious as old format. Really a shame. Good for drinks and appetizers but main courses are $100 a plate but may feed two. Really doubt the current model will survive as people figure it out.

Terrible service, way too loud, completely too crowded and more full than current dining allows for during Covid, food was sub par and our bill was absurdly expensive. Such a disappointing experience!

Our party of 4 was seated at a low cocktail table right next to the bar so COVID concerns aside it was difficult to have a conversation with noise, seating distance and masks. Service was not good. Twice they brought large plates of food to us that we did not order. Menu was limited and only 2 desserts offered. Couldn’t quite understand the concept of the restaurant..:not really a place for dinner but more drinks and appetizers.

By far the worst service I've ever had at an upscale restaurant, or any for that matter. Sat at the table 20 min before the first staff member approached us for our drink order then another 20 min went by before we had to ask a busser to take our order. Same thing for the rest of the meal, we essentially didn't exist unless we made them provide service to us.

Very cool place but we had a hard time getting seated despite having a reservation. We were ignored for about 25 minutes, almost left. Finally seated, and it felt like we weren’t in anybody’s section. A sweet waitress noticed we were without service and came to our aide even though we weren’t in her section. We assured she alone would get the tip, because she was wonderful! We were just largely ignored which was so strange given such a nice restaurant and seemingly attentive staff. Just because your managers wear suits doesn’t mean the service is any good 😆 drinks were fabulous though. Super cool place, would go back!
