Excellent dinner and ambience!!
Plan to return for our anniversary next year and maybe sooner!!
Was disappointed the menu changed. Loved your chicken salad sandwich, and my husband liked the Reuben. Too many wraps!!! I do not like wraps. Also missed soup on the menu.
I had steak frites; I thought the steak was too fatty. The rest of the meal was delicious—the wine, the ice cream sandwich, the rolls. My husband and friends enjoyed their meals.
This is a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy nature outside, beauty inside, delicious food and very good service. We have traveled here to eat many times - this time was unique because of the Covid pandemic. We have tried to be very careful during this period, and do not dine out, however, we were celebrating a birthday and felt that the environment would be very safe once we read all of the precautions the management was taking at this venue along with the large dining room and high ceilings throughout. We were very pleased when we arrived and felt very safe spending some time there.
The airline chicken was delicious and patio seating is perfect to watch the sunset.
The scenery is so lovely. It was such a restful break!
We had a room with two queen beds. It was a nice space! We were on the 2nd floor.
The sheets were MUCH TOO SHORT for the beds and kept coming undone and exposing the mattress beneath, which was annoying and gross.
And, the first night we were there, someone was vacuuming at 11 p.m. at night in our hallway and then someone kept going in and out of the room across the hall and letting the door slam behind them. Until like 3 a.m. So, the first night wasn't excellent. The second night was much better.
Wonderful staff and presentation very nice. Variety of dining options on menu
Service was outstanding and the potato leek soup was the best ever
Good food and service. You can sit on the patio and eat which adds to the ambience.
We chose the Timbers to celebrate Father's Day. They had just reopened and were "easing" back into full service. The food and service were outstanding, and the ambience second to none!
We had a great time at all the meals we had at Timbers. The food was very good, service was excellent, and it was a great atmosphere to relax in. Thank you so much for everything.
The appetizers were amazing! So our expectations for the main course were high. We each got a steak. Both were cooked perfectly. The sides were terrible though. My asparagus was burn and way overcooked. His corn gnocchi were terrible flavor wise and were also very overcooked. The dessert was great though. Good service although kind of slow out of the kitchen.
We stayed and got the romance package that includes dinner and breakfast. Our server for dinner was pleasant. However, she didn't tell us the specials, did not bring us bread and only refilled our water while we were waiting for dessert.
The food was average. My baked potato was only half cooked. The filet was flavorful and cooked to the correct temperature.
We asked for a quiet table by the windows. The blower was blowing so much cold air the candle wouldn't stay lit. Halfway through our meal the hostess sat the table directly behind us 4 women who had obviously been drinking. They were so loud.. not the romantic dinner I had envisioned.
My wife’s fillet was very rare, she ordered it medium well, I ordered the 14 ounce ribeye and it was medium rare and I had asked for it to be medium well, I had both steaks sent back,
The atmosphere is great, service fine. I had the breakfast buffet and the food is fair to good. The oatmeal, yogurt, berries, eggs and bacon are good, the pancakes are not. If you get a fresh batch they’re good but any amount of time in the warmer turns them to rubber. Otherwise the “Timbers” is a wonderful place to eat, a little bit on the expensive side but you pay for a nice atmosphere.
Very relax dining experience - food choice limited but everyone food was excellent
We enjoyed our meal during Valentine's Day weekend 2020. The ambiance of the restaurant is quiet and a bit upscale, but also maintaining the charm of the Lodge. Our server was polite and well intentioned I'm sure, but we went long stretches (20-30 minutes) without her stopping by to check on us, fill waters, etc. As a result, the meal stretched well over two hours long, mostly due to a long stretch of time between servings. Not sure if this was due to our server or the kitchen. Overall, once the food did arrive, it was excellent. Steak was cooked perfectly, and we enjoyed our meal. We splurged on the chocolate cake, and it was decadent. A fun meal that would have been a five star experience with improved service.
Sunday brunch with daughter and her two boys (ages 9 & 18, their first time there). Waffle and chicken, though delicious, seemed not much for the price. Veg or fruit side would have been nice. Grandson’s steak was very tough and not seasoned. We told the server about the steak, and the manager and chef concurred and reduced the bill. Service and food otherwise was excellent and so was the piano music. Thank you.
The people at the restaurant were so attentive & accomodating to my family and I! Everything was very delicious ! We'll definitely come again!
I know the potential is there but my last experience was disappointing. The price paid for what was offered just didn't compare.
We were quite disappointed with our recent experience dinning there. Today is our 15th wedding anniversary and we are staying at the Lied Lodge. We invited our grown children and granddaughter to join us for Sunday Brunch yesterday at Timbers. Unfortunately, no one had told me that they had discontinued the Sunday Brunch for the winter. Moreover, all of our food was served cold. I did complain to the manager but there was little she could do but offer me a free bottle of bubbly. Usually, our experiences at Lied Lodge and Timbers have been very good. We were quite disappointed yesterday, though.
Shelley was out food server - she kept good conversation and checked back with us to ensure our breakfast dining experience was progressing well. The Timber Dining Room provides the type of atmosphere one would expect in the type of setting where the restaurant is located. The food was very good, and the Chef was very helpful in explaining the foods on the buffet serving line. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to other individuals.
Christmas brunch with grandkids. Food was good. Nice experience. Would recommend.
LOTS OF KIDS THERE HAVING CHRISTMAS, SO THE NOISE LEVEL WAS HIGHER THAN USUAL BUT NOT BAD. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, BUT THEY SEAMED A BIT UNDER STAFFED.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with filet mignon steaks.
The steaks were perfectly prepared and deliciou.
As always, Lied Lodge is a wonderful Christmas experience. We have been going for many years, and now, though our parents are gone , it still is a wonderful tradition, and brings back special memories. Such a beautiful setting for Christmas, and love the music, and miniature village. Love reading Ralph Waldo Emerson inscriptions, as he was a 2nd cousin to our mother. Our waitress was a beautiful addition to our experience, w/her bubbly attention to us...thankyou! the Terry Larsens
Great food and service as usual. It was a bit off putting however, having to walk from the buffet across the lobby area past the gift shop to get into the separate dining room we were seated in. Although the view from our table still allowed an outdoors view, the ambiance of the room location, separate from the main dining area, was lacking. It felt like being banished to the kids table away from the adults. Wasn't a deal breaker, just felt odd and a bit of a trick dodging traffic in the lobby to get to the room balancing a plate full of food.
We were married at the Lied Lodge 2 years ago and returned to celebrate my parents 45th anniversary. The food was amazing (and it even tasted good as leftovers!). Loved the space and the experience.
Coming back for New Years eve dinner
Bringing nother couple
We love this place! Great service and selection on the brunch. The children's area was a special touch as well.
Sunday breakfast buffet. Food selection was good, quality of food ok. A limited breakfast menu is available on Sundays, the main focus is on the buffet. Reservations are recommended.
We had reservations which are recommended. Both of us had the dinner buffet. The food was good, meat a little tough. Selection was good but not great. Price was $24/person. I would have the buffet again but I may pick something off the menu next time.
The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the meal. We had a good time with our friends.
We loved the character of the large timbers and the view across the valley to Arbor Lodge is spectacular. The food and service were excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a nice meal in a great atmosphere.
We had excellent service from both the person who greeted and seated us and our server. Our food was great and served very promptly. Our wine, St. Croix, was also very good. (We brought home another bottle!) An enjoyable dining experience. We highly recommend the Open Table.
The restaurant is a beautiful setting. Great to see a kids menu. The food is overpriced and was not hot .
Our waiter seemed very distracted and we asked for bread with our meal and never received it.
She never even thought of it the rest of the time we were at the table eating our meal , and we could not find her after are plates were brought to remind her. The fact that sides are all extra is a silly way to order.
Why would it not be like any other dining experience and come with sides, especially when you are paying the price Timbers is charging for the main menu items . My steak was 24 dollars for 5 bites . Nebraska is a beef state , way overpriced. The breakfast buffet was better priced, and the food was good. We may or may not go back to the restaurant , but we do love the Lied Lodge.
Good service. The appetizer of bruschetta was amazing. The salmon and green salad were very good. The special of prime rib was disappointing. Not very flavorful. We shared our meals, and neither of us liked that one much. Apple pie was good.
We rarely if ever find anything to complain about at Timber Dining Room. The food and ambiance are excellent, and there are plenty of activities in the vicinity to work off the meal you just indulged in!
Dinner was awesome! I would (however) recommend moving the tables that seat doubles away from the main thoroughfare ... it got a bit windy and lost a bit of the intimacy we have always had at the Timber Dining Room. Try the 6 layer cake, it was scrumptious!
Took my wife here for her birthday. Very nice staff was very friendly and service was very good as well.
