The people at the restaurant were so attentive & accomodating to my family and I! Everything was very delicious ! We'll definitely come again!
I know the potential is there but my last experience was disappointing. The price paid for what was offered just didn't compare.
We were quite disappointed with our recent experience dinning there. Today is our 15th wedding anniversary and we are staying at the Lied Lodge. We invited our grown children and granddaughter to join us for Sunday Brunch yesterday at Timbers. Unfortunately, no one had told me that they had discontinued the Sunday Brunch for the winter. Moreover, all of our food was served cold. I did complain to the manager but there was little she could do but offer me a free bottle of bubbly. Usually, our experiences at Lied Lodge and Timbers have been very good. We were quite disappointed yesterday, though.
Shelley was out food server - she kept good conversation and checked back with us to ensure our breakfast dining experience was progressing well. The Timber Dining Room provides the type of atmosphere one would expect in the type of setting where the restaurant is located. The food was very good, and the Chef was very helpful in explaining the foods on the buffet serving line. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to other individuals.
Christmas brunch with grandkids. Food was good. Nice experience. Would recommend.
LOTS OF KIDS THERE HAVING CHRISTMAS, SO THE NOISE LEVEL WAS HIGHER THAN USUAL BUT NOT BAD. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, BUT THEY SEAMED A BIT UNDER STAFFED.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with filet mignon steaks.
The steaks were perfectly prepared and deliciou.
As always, Lied Lodge is a wonderful Christmas experience. We have been going for many years, and now, though our parents are gone , it still is a wonderful tradition, and brings back special memories. Such a beautiful setting for Christmas, and love the music, and miniature village. Love reading Ralph Waldo Emerson inscriptions, as he was a 2nd cousin to our mother. Our waitress was a beautiful addition to our experience, w/her bubbly attention to us...thankyou! the Terry Larsens
Great food and service as usual. It was a bit off putting however, having to walk from the buffet across the lobby area past the gift shop to get into the separate dining room we were seated in. Although the view from our table still allowed an outdoors view, the ambiance of the room location, separate from the main dining area, was lacking. It felt like being banished to the kids table away from the adults. Wasn't a deal breaker, just felt odd and a bit of a trick dodging traffic in the lobby to get to the room balancing a plate full of food.
We were married at the Lied Lodge 2 years ago and returned to celebrate my parents 45th anniversary. The food was amazing (and it even tasted good as leftovers!). Loved the space and the experience.
Coming back for New Years eve dinner
Bringing nother couple
We love this place! Great service and selection on the brunch. The children's area was a special touch as well.
Sunday breakfast buffet. Food selection was good, quality of food ok. A limited breakfast menu is available on Sundays, the main focus is on the buffet. Reservations are recommended.
We had reservations which are recommended. Both of us had the dinner buffet. The food was good, meat a little tough. Selection was good but not great. Price was $24/person. I would have the buffet again but I may pick something off the menu next time.
The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the meal. We had a good time with our friends.
We loved the character of the large timbers and the view across the valley to Arbor Lodge is spectacular. The food and service were excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a nice meal in a great atmosphere.
We had excellent service from both the person who greeted and seated us and our server. Our food was great and served very promptly. Our wine, St. Croix, was also very good. (We brought home another bottle!) An enjoyable dining experience. We highly recommend the Open Table.
The restaurant is a beautiful setting. Great to see a kids menu. The food is overpriced and was not hot .
Our waiter seemed very distracted and we asked for bread with our meal and never received it.
She never even thought of it the rest of the time we were at the table eating our meal , and we could not find her after are plates were brought to remind her. The fact that sides are all extra is a silly way to order.
Why would it not be like any other dining experience and come with sides, especially when you are paying the price Timbers is charging for the main menu items . My steak was 24 dollars for 5 bites . Nebraska is a beef state , way overpriced. The breakfast buffet was better priced, and the food was good. We may or may not go back to the restaurant , but we do love the Lied Lodge.
Good service. The appetizer of bruschetta was amazing. The salmon and green salad were very good. The special of prime rib was disappointing. Not very flavorful. We shared our meals, and neither of us liked that one much. Apple pie was good.
We rarely if ever find anything to complain about at Timber Dining Room. The food and ambiance are excellent, and there are plenty of activities in the vicinity to work off the meal you just indulged in!
Dinner was awesome! I would (however) recommend moving the tables that seat doubles away from the main thoroughfare ... it got a bit windy and lost a bit of the intimacy we have always had at the Timber Dining Room. Try the 6 layer cake, it was scrumptious!
Took my wife here for her birthday. Very nice staff was very friendly and service was very good as well.
The food was okay, but nothing extra. Especially for the money. I would be willing to try it again, if for no other reason than the atmosphere.
We have spent many nights at the Lied Lodge. quite often we have visited the Timber Dining Room-breakfast/lunch/dinner/thanksgiving and Easter. we have always had excellent food and outstanding service. we highly recommend the dining room for any occasion. 10 stars from us
Thank you so much for taking time to leave a lovely review! We look forward to serving you again soon.
The breakfast is better than the dinner. The food included in the dinner buffet was extremely salty and inedible. The steak ordered off of the menu was better. There are very few vegetarian options. The quality of the food did not justify the price.
We waited a long time for drinks that were watered down, the wait staff brought us the wrong drink and appetizer and then looked at us like it was our fault. The food was mediocre and over priced.
We dined inside because it was a bit too brisk outdoors. Our server, Karen C., was a real person, not an automaton. One wine choice was sour and she replaced it. The ambience of the Lodge setting is one we love.
Our party of seven waited an hour and 15 minutes for our meals to arrive and when they finally did, some of them were incorrect.
We go every October for a family dinner. Food and service are always excellent.
We have been coming twice a year and will be back again next Spring. Thank you for always bring there for us.
Always a great choice for our anniversary dinner, the food is fabulous and the atmosphere is classy.
It was a good experience overall, the food and drinks were delicious. We were sat next to 2 large parties even though the dinng room was mostly empty and so the noise level was loud and it was hard to talk until those parties had left.
My husband's steak was undercooked but were were offered several options to makeup for that, even though we did not ask for nor were we exoecting anything, and we chose the free dessert.
The services was nice and it was overall a good experience.
Inspiring menu that failed to deliver for all four diners. Wait staff was very pleasant but with three large parties in addition to regular diners, they couldn’t keep pace. The biggest disappointment was the caramel apple pie. In Nebraska’s apple capitol, it should have been excellent. It was mealy and generally tasteless. Not at all what I remembered from many years ago. Overall, very disappointing.
I was impressed that they offered many local, Nebraska, products. I felt that the proteins were cooked well, not overcooked. The portions provide a good value for the money. The presentation of food was very elegant. The service staff was very helpful and welcoming. I really enjoyed eating dinner and breakfast here.
The breakfast buffet was wonderful! The waitress Shelley was great. We had her for lunch and breakfast. We had dinner in the Library Pub. Mitch was very nice and gave great service. They both had a smile on their face.
Every Fall since 1982 my family has been going to Nebraska City to get pumpkins, apples , cider and to eat at the Lodge. We were all so disappointed this year! The buffet was skimpy and the food bland. Never in all those years has it been so bad! I will continue to go to the Lodge to eat but maybe next year choose something from the menu. Very disappointing!!
Wonderful food and service.
Setting is outstanding. Parking was good. We did the evening buffet and the food was very good.
a little pricy but enjoyed the overall experience
Found this gem while road tripping. I was a bit concerned as I was in shorts with a hoody but it worked out fine. You could certainly dress up or down and still feel comfortable.
Outstanding overall dining experience! The "spread" was varied and well prepared. Our server (Shelly) was especially friendly and extremely attentive to our needs. The panoramic view to the north and the pleasant piano tunes in dining room ambiance provided an exceptional ambience. The best Sunday Brunch value in the area.
