Take a culinary journey through South Asian-inspired fare at Tiger Mama. This restaurant serves lunch and dinner in a vibrant space, enhanced by ferns, plants and soft wood paneling. The menu is a love story to Chef Tiffani Faison's culinary brilliance, with a list that seamlessly borrows from the Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian cooking playbook. It offers over 30 small-to-medium plate items, broken down into relatable categories like "rich and earthy" or "cold and fresh."
In addition to its dining area, Tiger Mama also hosts a front bar managed by Brian Callahan. It serves wine, beers and exotic cocktails, such as the Taiwan On: a sweet mix of coconut, key lime, Batavia and Thai basil. Tiger Mama is open all through the week.
Unique and creative menu. Very attentive to my allergies. Overall a fun, delicious restaurant.
Authentic Thai food, very very good! Would go again.
A great way to enjoy family style dinner with our college kids and friends! Good food!
The ambiance was fun. The service was good. The food was really good. One dish was too spicy for the group. Asked if for the next time we could alter the spice level and they said no. The tiki bowl was good fun for the group.
Food and the service we absolutely outstanding. The only criticism I may have would be there seemed to be a few lights out that made it extremely dark.
We came to Tiger Mama to celebrate my birthday with a big party. The team was so accommodating of my large group, and they were so patient when some of my party didn't arrive right on time. They made great suggestions about food and cocktails. It's my favorite restaurant in Boston - a must try.
We were seated around 15-20 mins after our reservation time and the table was a little tight for our larger party. But those are my only complaints! Wait service was great, food was incredible. The dishes are family style and we ordered 12 dishes for 6 people. We were all STUFFED but we did manage to eat it all! The drinks took some time to arrive, but they were all very complicated so that’s understandable. Overall it was great and I’ll definitely be back!
Extremely poor service. We had an awful waiter who didn’t even pretend to care about serving us properly. My dish of fried rice came out 35 minutes after the dishes my three other friends ordered, so I sat and watched them eat their food while I waited for mine. Our server didn’t check on us once after he took the initial order. I complained to several other waiters. Our server finally brought the food out. When I brought it to his attention that my dish arrived 35 minutes after all of the other dishes he didn’t apologize and acted like it was OUR fault for ordering separate dishes as opposed to doing it tapas style. That doesn’t even make sense, because even if we were doing tapas style we wouldn’t have wanted to get 3 dishes together and then 1 final dish 35 minutes later. The manager came up and apologized profusely and comped my dish. That was the right thing to do and I appreciate the gesture, but that doesn’t begin to make up for the horrendous treatment we received from our waiter. In my opinion Tiger Mama should reevaluate whether there is a spot for him on the staff and/or send him to special training, because he is certainly having a poor impact on customers.
Finally, on top of the poor service, our reservation was for 6:45pm and they didn’t seat us until almost 7:15pm because our table wasn’t ready. It is completely unacceptable to wait almost 30 minutes for a table when you’ve made an advanced reservation. The staff was likewise very unapologetic about the seating delay. When they finally did seat us, they sat us at a high top table instead of a normal table. The food was really good but certainly didn’t make up for the horrendous service we received from the terrible waiter.
As always, the food was excellent and very creative. Service was just “okay” but that is not at all damning. The aspect of “value” is, however, something that management should take a long, hard look at...3 ribs for $15? They were very good but not THAT good.
Food great. Drinks great. Busy spot so server is in and out. The food servers come to deliver food as it is ready so it is quick. We each ordered 2 things and it worked out great to share all. Know that food comes as it is ready. Go with it ! My only negative is the bill they automatically add 3% for the kitchen which is very nice but it was odd since in all my experience in restaurants tips are pooled and all taken care of. I guess they know wait staff will not share so they handle it separately. Not a problem at all, I always tip well but felt this was kind of sneaky.
Loved it! We tried a variety of items. We really enjoyed our service and food. Outstanding.
The food at tiger mama is almost worth the slow service. We have been there twice now and both times have had excruciatingly slow and forgetful service. We often felt like we were sitting at the forgotten table. If you don't mind inattention and long wait times between dishes, the food is some of the best in Boston.
Missed the mark! Won’t be going back
So so so so so so good!!! Food was absolutely amazing!
What a treat! From the cocktails to luxurious warm hand towels at the end of the meal. We will definitely be coming back!
Food and drinks were good overall. Our server had forgotten 2 items from our order that we ended up requesting to take off the rival bill.
This place is way overpriced and food as ZERO flavor. Seems like a great place for millennials that love overpriced food in a "trendy" setting. For the record...I myself am a millennial. Service is awful, food tasteless, and $90 for two people and 2 drinks each. OUCH
grat restaurant! We loved the whole thing, ambiance, food and service.
Delicious food!! Fun night!! Our server, Brielle was fantastic!!
Delicious, bold flavors. Fabulous cocktails. Friendly service.
Excellent flavors. Good for sharing dishes. Noisy. Service shared by staff and efficient
Great spot for a date night, we had an early dinner here before a movie at Fenway. Service was excellent and the food was delicious, strongly recommend the Mango & Sticky Rice for dessert!
Wonderful as always! The brunch menu is a real treat.
Been here for brunch twice and still blown away at how good the food is here. A little on the heavier side and portions are large but so delicious! Can’t wait to try more
My new fav restaurant! Food is absolutely incredible. You will not be disappointed.
Made my friends 21st birthday very special. Was our first time there, we'll definitely be back.
The server was very pleasant and full of recommendations-she knew the menu very well.
As usual the food was very good-the lamb rolls were a little salty, but certainly edible. The potatoes were outstanding as well as the house fried rice-I look forward to ordering them next time!
Great food wonderful drinks. Great service
awesome place but disappointed with the duck for the price. I personally loved the shrimp and the hanoi.
The food is Asian street food fusion served to share. Some dishes more successful than others but nothing stood out as very good or very bad. They try to be original and they do present unusual combinations but overall we got the feeling that style won over substance. Smallish plates and very small cocktails.
Tables for 2 arranged too close to each other. You are almost eating together with the next table. High noise volume if you next table neighbors happen to speak loudly...which they did.
We paid around $90 with tips which we considered expensive for what we got.
Was it a bad experience? No.
Was is a memorable one? No.
Would we go back again? Probably not.
Endroit très plaisant. Bonne ambiance. Nourriture et cocktails excellents.
Server was great, food was great, we live this place anytime.
The atmosphere and the service is good but the food is a bit salty and hard to consume
Amazing, as always!
Tiger mama was a great place to dine out.
It was my first experience and t was a great one. the inside is very instagram worthy and the food was super delicious defiantly will go again.
My wife and I were quite pleasantly surprised . I had picked out the place for our anniversary. The food is shareable and in very good taste. In runs a bit spicy which is how I like it. We chose to go meatless and ordered from the appetizer menu, and Veggies and the noodles menu. Loved our choices and our server, Patrick was excellent. I recommend the Japanese Yam and the Pad Thai Salad.
Tha food was fantastic. So many unique flavors and creative dishes.
My biggest gripe was the oversell. The waiter said that the restaurant serves "small plates" and that for four of us we should order 6-8. Turns out that each plate was quite large so we had lots uneaten. Sounds great on one hand ... leftovers, yay! On the other hand, ended up being much more expensive than necessary. And, were definitely oversold. Felt like we were targeted and marketed. I don't like that. Also, two of the dishes were super spicy. So much so that they were hard to eat. That's fine, but either the menu or the waiter should have given us advance notice so that we had the option to choose differently if we wanted to do so.
If I did refer to a friend, I'd tell them to ask about spice level and order in stages. The food came out super fast, so it would have been better to order a few at a time rather than a quantity all out once.
The food was good but the service is some of the worst I’ve had in a long time. On multiple occasions, they they brought someone else’s food to our table. They also put our food down on someone else’s table and then had the other couple give us the plate of food - not sanitary especially for a restaurant of this caliber. The drinks that we got were delicious.
