    We sat in the quiet front room of this local gem of a seafood restaurant. We always prefer local-owned restaurants. Delicious seafood chowder and grouper grilled with a light butter sauce. Beautifully plated. Fried seafood platter Was not at all greasy. Fresh asparagus. Hostess and waiter very friendly. TVs near the bar showed the golf match. All reasonably priced. Scrumptious banana cream pie for dessert was big enough for two.

    Not accommodating to an elderly patron with a walker. Waiter either could not hear or chose not to listen. Food was tolerable. Disappointing because we have eaten here before.

    The food was delicious and the service was good. We were seated in the back room, probably because we had to change the number in our group at the last minute. The noise level of the other guests in the room was pretty high, the waitress could barely hear to take our order. I prefer the front room for the ambience and the quieter atmosphere. The back room seems almost like a different place.

    Tidewater Grill was our best dining experience while staying in the Cherry Grove Beach area. The staff was kind and attentive, the cocktails were amazing, and the fresh seafood was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this hidden gem if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

    I ordered the crab cakes. They came with the vegetable of the day and roasted potatoes. The crab cakes were too bready and had too much lemon sauce on them. The green beans were cold and the potatoes were undercooked. The bread that came with the side salad was day old (at least). If the hostess had at least offered to remove the dish from my bill or apologized for the less than stellar meal, I wouldn’t have left a review. Since she’s the one that asked me if I didn’t like the dish, I was honest with her and she slinked away.

    Excellent grouper with mango salsa tonight!! Our friends had the rib special and the meat fell off the bone. Yum!! The wedge salad was delicious also!! We will return soon!!

    We were very satisfied with our meals at Tidewater Grill. We drove by many times before we did some research and tried it out. The service was great and the food was delicious. Casual dining and friendly staff.
