Attentive well cared for service from all and thoroughly enjoyed sharing many different dishes all great, full of authentic flavors and spiciness.
this is my go to place for all my business meetings! everyone loves mexican food there is a little bit of everything on the menu AND the best part is its a quite place its in an office building so tends to be very quite during the week especially at 1130am! The folks here are nice and professional they are also very quick and knowledgeable about them menu I will always recommend them!
Great food and cocktails and superb service. Will be back!
Been to Tico several times, lunch, drinks and dinner. Nice spot for us. Has a different menu and so that should be expected (and enjoyed). This lunch was great. It was a business lunch and the lunch special was excellent. Service was also great. We had tight time frame and the staff kept us right on time. Always enjoy attentive water servings. Really enjoy Tico.
Good service, but it was way too noisy, and the food was really disappointing and overpriced. My beef tacos were absolutely tasteless, and despite ordering tons of mediocre appetizers, I was still hungry after leaving the restaurant because the portions were so tiny. I don’t have a huge appetite, so it’s rare that I leave a restaurant still feeling hungry. I will not be returning.
The food was amazing. Went on a date for valentines and tried a bunch if different items which were all outstanding. Very unique menu as well. I only wish they had a couple more vegetarian options, specifically in the main entree section but worth the trip!
This used to be my go-to place, so it pains me to write this. Service was bad, menu wasn't good, the chip and salsa are a joke, and it's clear by the amount of people not there on a Saturday night, it's gone down hill. There were only 1 or 2 things on the menu that looked good, and even the cocktails looked just okay. Margaritas were so-so. Not sure if the waitresses were covering a large area, but were not attentive. I used to take guests here every time I had visitors. Won't be going back.
It was a good meal, liked trying all the different tapas. The service was alright though. Waited a long time to order and receive the bill.
The burger lived up to it’s billing and the service was great. I enjoy sitting at the bar when I eat alone and the bar service was great!
I think the online presence of the restaurant is misleading. I came here for a date but the ambiance was not great. This is advertised as a tapas place but it felt more like an extended appetizer menu (if extended at all... the appetizer list still felt small). The kitchen was super bright and there was a cold draft that could only really be seen/felt if seated in the dining area. The food came out (and plates cleared) so quickly and abruptly that we felt rushed, and when asking simply yes/no questions we would get an extensive, overexplained non-answer. The wine was good and the food was delicious- however the food kept my date and I on the toilet for 24 hours after (not romantic at all of course). If anything, I'd recommend coming here for the bar- it was large and perfect for after dinner to split an app. But I will not take a date here again.
It was “just” fine. Nothing to remember but the value. I live in the neighborhood - I remember going once before and we decided it was expensive -
On Friday night I went out with some girl friends - we hadn’t made a reservation anywhere - Tico had tables . The bill was outrageous for corn dip and chips and some cheese things .
A “ no repeater” - there is a cool new place around the corner - Somethjng and Salt from the Buttermilk and Bourbon people -
Service was great though
Really nice tapas place. The bar was super crowded, abut the restaurant had plenty of room and we had a very nice meal with excellent service.
Loud music, spare and worn furniture, over wrought menu, average food preparation and presentation, average flavor profiles - feels like a concept at the end of its run.
Overall, we really liked this place, especially the very friendly bar staff. The only drawback was an issue with a broken pipe in the building that set off the fire alarm and warning lights in the restaurant. It went on for a while before any of the staff approached us to explain the situation. Although the pipe was out of their control, I think they should have been more proactive about informing the guests. The flashing lights and blaring alarm marred what was otherwise an enjoyable night out.
Given how empty the restaurant was, I was surprised how poor the service was. There were three different waiters that came to our table throughout the night, and at one point we had to get the hostess' attention to get service. I've been here many times in the past, and had not experienced service this poor. The food was good, but not great. Why dress up the oysters with toppings? Kind of ruins it for some people, especially as a group when people have different tastes.
Great service! Good music. Cost a bit high for size of portions. The special mule cocktail was delicious!
The service was cheerful, but it was over-priced and unimpressive.
The food was all tasty. All of the items seemed to be spicy, with one spicy ingredient or another, so that we had some difficulty finding things that our non-spicy-loving family members would enjoy. They graciously tried to make some of the items less spicy, but it was impossible to remove the jalapenos from everything, and some of the sauces were what was good about the item and they couldn't make it less spicy. Anyway, I would recommend somewhere else if you can't do spicy.
That said, if you like spicy -- and they weren't even THAT spicy -- all of the food was delicious!
Great margaritas, delicious small plates including roasted cauliflower and very attentive servers. Definitely fun evening!
Enjoyed the food, but they must do team table service because we couldn’t figure out who our server was and we waited around a lot for drinks and to get our tab. As I’m pregnant I had to flag people down to get water and the music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. There was a party on the other side so perhaps it’s a bit quieter normally. A great place to go for an app and cocktail but not if you want to catch up with anyone.
The bar side of the restaurant was buzzing in a nice, not too noisy way. Our server was excellent. Everything from coctails to apprtizers and entree were distinctive and delicious!
Thank you Tico! This was a great place to grab drinks and a bite to eat after a long week.
The food here is sub par and tries too hard to be fusion. The prices are ridiculous for the size of the dishes. The drinks were just ok. Our server was amazing and very accommodating. That was the one plus.
Great restaurant with a fabulous menu. You can have their tasting menu if you have two people. Service was wonderful and the server help greatly in our choices. Good wine list. Recommend reservation.
We loved our night at Tico! It was a great place to have old friends get together. We had a private table in the back which gave us great space to talk and catch up! Food was fantastic and great sizes for sharing!
We came here to celebrate our engagement the evening before, while we were in Boston and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious and our server was phenomenal!
We did not enjoy the food and would not recommend this restaurant.
Fine flavors and service, not extraordinary. Tuna Ceviche and fish tacos good, duck confit quesadilla just okay.
We always have a great meal here. Great tapas to share and interesting cocktails. We also love the burger! Wait staff is nice, knowledgeable and helpful.
The food is superb specially the ceviche. Service is great. Good value.
Great food and drinks, everyone there was great, a little expensive for the amount of food you get
Perfect evening in Tico. The food was so fresh, everything was delicious. The service was really good too, as was the atmosphere and music. We never had to ask for refills of water or anything. Perfect for a date or groups. The waitress recommended between 2-5 plates per person as it’s tapas style. We had 6 between us and that was ideal. Loved everything but highlights would be the duck confit quesadillas and the cabbage almond salad! Will be back!
Got the "chef's choice" menu where the chef chooses what you eat. Everything was tasty ... esp liked the dish with Szechwan and beets!
Tico is an absolute favorite of ours! The hospitality is incredible and not to mention the manchego cheese is absolutely to die for. This has been our spot for anniversaries forever and I would reccomend this to anyone who enjoys tapas and great drinks
Tico continues to impress. I've never been disappointed by anything I've ordered there, and tonight was no exception. The tender pork tacos were delicious, with pork so tender that I barely had to chew it. Tico's Mac and Cheese is creamy, with a delicious saltiness from the manchego and chorizo. We played capsaicin roulette with the shishido peppers that were warm and crisp, with some being powerfully spicy, and others being mild and slightly bitter (which was not a bad thing). Tonight, they were running a special of fried brussel sprouts that were so earthy and delicious, with a hint of cumin and pistachio. And the best dish of the night was the duck confit quesadilla, which was delightfully rich and savory. Our server James was excellent and gave us great recommendations and flawless service. I can't wait to return.
Lunch menu. $14.50 for three vegetarian tacos and no sides included. Next time I'll go to Lone Star.
I met three colleagues for lunch at Tico's. I had never met them in person before - Tico's was in a handy location, quiet enough for conversation, good food and an awesome waiter.
I've dined here twice prior to my latest experience and they have all been great. However, this past weekend it was clear the quality of the food has gone down a lot. I'm not sure what's changed but it's a shame because it has a great overall vibe and is decorated really cool. I got a margarita and it came in a glass that you would be served in at a bar in Fanueil. My friend's first drink was so watered down. Our chicken tacos and chorizo dish were horrible. The guacamole and fried manchego were ok but honestly could have gotten them at a place that serves $1 margaritas. However, the service was outstanding. We had such a phenomenal waitress who did not charge us for the first bad drink and chicken tacos that my friend barely touched. She was so nice and wanted honest feedback. I sincerely hope the food improves because as I stated early, it's a fun place to dine at.
