Tico, Michael Schlow's award-winning venture, located at 222 Berkely St (corner of St James) is casual, fun, inviting, energized and energizing. The restaurant has a personal, somewhat eclectic, "found" feel, with lots of reclaimed wood and unusual pieces. Perfect for friends that want to share cool cocktails, plates of tasty, sometimes spicy food, while listening to great music, in a fast, uncomplicated restaurant that provides knowledgeable, quick, playful service.
The restaurant has an open kitchen with 6 stools right on the counter to watch all the action. It also boasts a large bar, dining room for 100, a chef's table, and a lush outdoor courtyard that features a fireplace, dining for 50, as well as some "soft" seating near the fire if guests wish to be outside for a drink or snack.

Nachos were delicious, as were the fried chicken tacos. The garlic shrimp was too oily, and the chicken wings were one note - too much chili pepper, not enough other flavors. Service was efficient. Blood orange margaritas were excellent. No problems with reservations or seating.

Not the Tico of past visits. I was so excited to go. The food was good not fantastic and the service was good not fantastic. I was impressed with the servers ability to take a large order without taking notes and get it all right, simply wished she would have come by more frequently. The food also came out fairly quick.

As soon as I entered I felt the vibe and wanted to dance! The excitement honestly ended there. After being seated we realized there was only one waiter in charge of around 8 tables... let’s just say he was not very attentive. In terms of food, we ordered the classic nachos, the patatas bravas, the tuna ceviche, the spicy chicken quesadilla, and the crispy chicken tacos. All of the food was below average. The only thing that saved it was the dessert. We ordered the tres leches and were extremely impressed! The passion fruit sorbet that came with it was out of this world! All in all if you are looking for a fun place to start out your night, you may enjoy Tico.
