Tick Tock Diner NY
The 280 seat Midtown Manhattan location opened in 1997 at 481 8th Avenue (corner of 34th Street), across the street from Penn Station. Tick Tock Diner has long been known for its American comfort food. Today, it remains true to tradition while offering more dining choices than ever before on its extensive menu, accented with Italian, Greek and Tex-Mex influences. Keeping in the diner tradition, breakfast is served all day, featuring more than a dozen omelets, farm fresh eggs any style, pancakes, Belgian waffles and French toast.

Extensive menu with lots of choices. Our meals came out hot, were very tasty, and somewhat big portions. Will definitely visit again.
Good variety of food at decent prices. Can’t beat that these days. Recommended before or after a show or athletic event! Very friendly and accommodating employees too.
Delicious, fresh food, and casual enough for kids. Mac and cheese balls and veggie baguette were amazing! They had something for everyone in our party, from ages 9 to 77. Excellent place!!
Absolutely perfect. I would definitely come back !!
Amazing place😘 we were lucky to have this diner attached to our hotel so used it for some breakfasts, evening meal and midnight snacks! Pancakes are awesome 👏 brown gravy is fantastic xxx
Quick and simple lunch. Great for kids. Waiter was outstanding.
Server was very attentive and polite. Food was good, price very affordable. Was going to an event at the Garden and it was quick and easy. Would recommend if you are looking for a quick burger.
Great place to grab a quick bite before a show at MSG with the whole family.
Perfect place for brunch near Penn Station. Our group included vegans and vegetarians who were also happy with the menu options and food, as well as traditional brunch (eggs benedict, pancakes, etc) that was enjoyed by others. A fun diner experience!
Overall, breakfast is above average. But I wished the food was a warmer than what was presented. Waiter was fantastic and recommended a couple dishes. I would come back in a couple of weeks again!
We were staying overnight at The New Yorker Hotel because we had tickets to MSG for a seven p.m. show. I had read good reviews about the Diner & since it was attached to the hotel I felt it would be a great choice for a quick dinner for three couples. We were seated immediately & our waitress was very pleasant. The menu had so many items to choose from & we settled on burger platters & wraps. Everyone's food was delicious & prices were reasonable especially for NYC! The next morning we went back for breakfast. The place was packed but we had no wait, food arrived quickly & again, everyone was happy with their meal. I would definitely recommend to anyone to check out the Tick Tock Diner.
Our server was really nice and friendly. The food was okay but there are definitely better options. Nothing impressive here.
Tuna avocado melt was good but I felt they could give you a pickle and coleslaw with the sandwich
Classic diner in a handy tourist location in midtown. We all had breakfast food of some sort. My omelet was delicious with good hashbrowns. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Service was friendly and efficient. Good option whether you're a tourist or not.
Our waiter went above and beyond to serve our party of 10. He also came out and sang for our daughter's birthday. A very good experience.
Good food, efficient service and affordable prices
Nice food. Nice place.
Family of 14 get-together
Very expensive for mediocre food.
Go to any of the irish bars just off the nain riads. 2 mins walk, drinks and food half the price, better portions, ambience, value and service
Perfect way to spend our Christmas Day,
Many thanks xx
Picked this place due to its proximity to where we needed to be for another event. Figured how can you go wrong with a diner in NYC? Though we were seated quickly, it took 3 times asking for a high chair for our baby before we got one. The table had not been cleaned off and it took 2 times asking before it was done. Our waiter (I don't recall his name unfortunately) was good at the beginning and end, but nowhere to be found in the middle when we needed drink refills. Though there was no kid's menu, he did tell us of a few offerings in the computer for the baby, which was nice. I wasn't overly impressed with the menu or the food. Just ordered burgers and a sandwich pretty much. My older son's burger came without the pickles he'd asked for. I went downstairs to use the ladies restroom and found every stall to be without toilet paper and it was all just a disgusting mess. Not at all impressed with this place, and I've been going to the city for upwards of 30 years and have never had to say that. There are plenty of other nearby options - go with those.
Food looked nothing like photos. Portions were small. Over priced. It just didn’t taste as good as I hoped. One good thing was we ahad a nice Waitress
Great place for a quick, reasonably priced meal! Good for the kids too!
Great menu choice. We took kids for brunch and they loved it, very typical NYC dining experience. Service was fast and friendly.
Had a group 11 with a breakfast reservation at 9:00. They had a table ready in five minutes. Service was fast! Food was good. It’s NY so prices are high but nothing out of the ordinary. I would recommend and make a reservation!
Quick, friendly service. Good food and a variety served in a timely fashion.
First time in New York and we picked this restaurant as we’ve heard great things and it was amazing!
we were 1 hour early with 5 kids for s show at the garden, the owner was super nice and very friendly and seated us anyway, the food was great snd service amazing, would absolutely reccomend it and will deff go back
Although we had reservations, we had to wait about 15 minutes. Otherwise, the food and service were very good.
Good & quick comfort/diner food just feet from MSG
We were a group of 11 with kids and 2 babies, came in for an early dinner, we showed up a little early and everything was already set up, the staff was so accommodating with our strollers and we never felt rushed. I had a steakhouse burger and scarfed it down!
Chose Tick-Tock Diner for breakfast in the city and it certainly did not disappoint!
Good quick brinch
World famous chicken and waffles was a waffle and chicken strips. One of the guests ordered traditional thanksgiving dinner and the sweet potatoes were supposed to have marshmallows. There were no marshmallows and we asked and we were told they melted into the potatoes. Then they ran out of pumpkin pie on thanksgiving. The pie was part of the dinner they wouldn’t let you pick any dessert only substituted Oreo pie. Had to wait forever for the pie and asked for it to go it came on a plate and had to wait forever for take out containers. Asked the buser and the waiter and finally asked the host who got us the container. They weren’t crowded don’t know what was going on there.
Great family friendly diner! Close to Penn Station and right on the way to the theater district. Clean, good service, fresh food.
Fun place to eat with great service and great food. The menu is great and I loved the atmosphere
No one came to our table for 15 minutes. After we ordered drinks (water and coffee) we didn’t have them until 15 minutes later. The door to outside has no double door or barrier so 20 degrees air was blowing on everyone all morning. The food made everyone at our table sick almost immediately after. Our server specifically asked for a tip at the end of the meal after not checking on us once and us waiting for everything.
We came here because we were going to an 8 PM concert at Madison Square Garden. It is extremely convenient, and the food is good diner food. Our server seemed a bit slower than a few others around us, but we had plenty of time to eat and get to MSG comfortably. If you're in the area, it's a good bet.
We were looking forward to a fun, NYC, diner experience. The location is great - right across from MSG. Our server was also very attentive, checking in often. She had a great sense of humor and was efficient. I suspect the kitchen was having problems. There were 5 of us. Four order came out together. One came out almost 10 minutes later. I waited for the final order to come out before starting to eat to be polite. I had ordered an omelet and it was a completely incorrect order with ingredients that I am allergic to. I had to send it back and wait another 10 minutes to eat. Once I got it, it was fine. Food tasted good. Place is pricey, but it's NYC!
