Nice atmosphere. Good food, cozy setting.
Came here for a birthday celebration w. Friend. We got to restaurant close to 7pm w. Reservations and it was pretty empty. We were allowed to choose where to sit. Once we sat down. Noticed table next to us which is next to Window was paying their bill. When they left. We asked to sit there and the waiter had to check in w. The manager lady at the bar. He came back saying there were people waiting for that table. I looked out at the bar waiting area and it was empty. And for the rest of the evening, the table remained empty with waiters asking arriving patrons if they wanted to sit there. Ok. So we got shafted. I coulda raised an issue but didn’t want to ruin the evening with this blatant act of discrimination.
We ate our dinner. Finished the evening and left.
I enjoyed the food and wine but wish the restaurant would’ve been more accommodating for a simple request that really required no extra effort from them. By saying no and lying. It left a bad taste and dining experience.
Other restaurants have no issue making this simple accommodations. It’s really a rhetorical request. This restaurant was 3/4 empty and our food was not ordered when we asked to move our seating. Why was Thyme not able to accommodate this other then discrimination.
Waittress and food were excellent can’t wait to go back!
Excellent dinner and service. Fish is especially good
Our first visit to Thyme and I could not have been more impressed. Food was excellent, service was superb. Atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxed. I would recommend Thyme to anyone.
People are grumpy. Seats were not ready on time. Food is average.
Great food great service super loud and super crowded
Thyme NEVER disappoints!!! Have dined here many times and they always come thru with amazing food. We have had salads, crab cakes, burgers, steak chicken- . I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could!!!!! Just had today tomato soup with a basil drizzle on top and I wanted to lick the plate clean- WOW!!!
Thyme never disappoints!! Always a fantastic meal with great service !
It is our family’s go to place
Exceptionally delicious food and a plentiful variety of choices on the menu.
Live music with solo performer was enjoyable and was clearly heard in the upstairs dining area.
Disappointed by the 20-min wait to valet our car and the 25-min wait in a very crowded bar area, to be seated, with a reservation made 3 weeks prior.
Excellent food and service. Facility is somewhat attractive but older. We will return
This was my second trip to Thyme for lunch. Perfect spot to catch up with friends and have a real conversation. Food and service excellent!
Always lovely and reliable.Food is delicious and nicely presented
8 of us met for brunch. Food and service was great. Drinks were weak. Put some bloody vodka in my Mary, please.
First time I was disappointed with the food. Crispy calamari appetizer was a lot of salad with very little calamari which was not crispy at all. Maybe 4 half inch raw pieces.
The salmon entree was a very dry piece of fish, much like frozen or precooked and reheated.
I have dined at Thyme many times in the past and always enjoyed the food, but I’m not sure I would go back.
I love this restaurant for special occasions. The food is ALWAYS consistantly outstanding, fresh and innovative.
When we walked into the half empty restaurant and asked to be seated at the empty table by the window, the hostess told us we couldn’t sit there because it was for VIPs. Insulting us was a bad way to start. Poorly trained wait staff made the evening worse. This restaurant needs better management and better training for its staff. After two years as customers, we will be dining elsewhere in the future.
The food was expensive for the portions they served. Also we felt rushed
My husband and I discovered Thyme several years ago . We had been to the movies in Roslyn and noticed an interesting looking place right next door. It has become a favorite “ dinner and movie” venue for us ever since. Consistently good food and interesting choices .
My one less than positive comment about about service is a pet peeve of mine. I hate it when plates are cleared from the table while people are still eating. I know servers do this because they are instructed to do so, but I wish they would ask customers first before removing what seems to be a finished plate .
We often eat at Thyme and enjoy the food very much. The staff is very attentive and the service is excellent. We highly recommend Thyme.
The food, live music and bartenders were great. However, we felt pressured and rushed by staff.
Shocked by the drop off in food quality. Thyme has been so dependable for its excellent menu and quality. Menu is much smaller and food was either tasteless or overly laden with garlic. Sauces not well blended. I’m so sad.
Everything was great! One thing I noticed was a handicapped patron not having access to a bathroom on the main level, they were not able to go up the stairs!
Valentine’s Day dinner Delight
Service was just a little short of what you would expect from a restaurant in this price range. Inconsistent attentiveness, poor wine service, etc. Not the first time at this restaurant. Seems to be a pattern. In short, service does not live up to the quality of the food. Therefore, takes away from the experience.
This is one of my favorite lunch restaurants. They have a prix fixe lunch that is incredibly reasonable. The food is consistently good and service is fine. The main room is warm and cozy and looks out on a pretty lake. There is also an upstairs room, however it has never been in use during the numerous times I have dined here. My first choice for lunch with a friend to celebrate a birthday! Definitely, a neighborhood gem!
First time at Thyme... excellent!
This was an excellent experience. Food was great and an excellent value.
Meal was very good, service was great!
We always enjoy having dinner at Thyme. The food is always good. Sometimes a little noisy, but certainly lively. They never disappoint us.
We've eaten here three times and each time was delicious. My only gripe is the tables for two are on top of each other. Kind of difficult to have an intimate conversation with someone and also makes it difficult to sit down or get up without having to moving the table out. Aside from that, the food never disappoints.
Thyme is a lovely restaurant -- the food was excellent and the decor is tasteful. The prix-fixe early-bird menu is a wonderful value!
Lunch was quiet and lovely. Dinner can be noisy..
Always a treasured. Had a wonderful dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner together. Can’t wait for our next visit
Our Friends couldn't stop raving about the food and value.
Enjoyed Thymes delicious Sunday brunch. Can’t be beat
We’ve been to Thyme many, many times.
We continue to enjoy the food and the entertainment on certain nights. Nice bar and friendly people all around. Easy parking valet.
We took advantage LI restaurant week to eat in one of our favorite places to go to for special occasions Unfortunately to participate you have to be seated before 6:30pm. Needless to say the place was jumping and quite noisy. If there weren’t the time constraint, which was not always the case, the atmosphere would have been at the usual pace. The other issue is that if the restaurant is participating the menu offerings should be at the fixed price of restaurant week without additional charge for some items. With that being said we did enjoy the food as always and the service was very good in spite of all the tables being full. We will return to Thyme, like the ambiance and consistent quality of the food. The butternut squash ravioli, shaved Brussels sprout salad and mussels were great. The short rib beef ragu, double pork chop and scallops with shrimp over risotto all excellent.
Went here during Restaurant Week
Food and the service was spectacular!! Our server was very attentive to our needs !! We will visit again
