Thyme Ratings and Reviews
Eaten here many times. Food is always good. Issue is often the terrible noise in the dining room when you’re only a party of two and position directly next to a loud large group. We even asked to move (there were empty tables), the Maitre-d was not willing to move us. Seemed totally overwhelmed- it set for a bad meal.
Food is very good, but not worth the abuse.
I and my 2 friends are seniors and found Thyme's ambiance to be relaxing and cozy. Would be very romantic for younger folk and any kind of celebration. Has a lovely working fireplace which is always a plus. Servers were friendly and the food very enjoyable. Loved the variety of the menu.
This is a very professionally run establishment. Our Open table reservations were honored instantly when we walked in. We were greeted warmly, and offered beverages right away.
Thyme has a wonderful Sunday Brunch. Very reasonable at $22 per person. It offers a very diverse menu with breakfast, lunch, sandwich and main course options. We both opted for the Thyme benedict, a take on eggs benedict. Instead of serving over an english muffin, they serve it over potato pancakes. Also on the plate were some very interesting assorted variety grilled mushrooms, and a stack of grilled veggies. VERY paleo. and VERY delicious. This is a smallish place and when crowded gets noisy. There is a wonderful view of the Roslyn Duck Pond. This might be the best Sunday Brunch deal on LI. Highly recommended.
We had a 745 reservation, and to our delight, our table was ready for us when we walked in. Waiter was very good as was the food. Pork chop was thick, and chef cooked it medium for me. The drinks were good, and we were all very pleased. Just so you know, there is a singer/guitarist by the bar area.
My husband and I came for the Saturday brunch.
The food was delicious. I loved my mushroom omelette. We were given scrumptious scones for the table.
Service was impeccable.
There is a very caring atmosphere, in which the servers want you to enjoy the meal, and the place.
It is a lovely
and quaint restaurant.
I took my sister to Thyme for her birthday brunch last Sunday and we had a great time. We had a quiet table upstairs next to the window which was perfect. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. The food was well prepared and delicious. It’s a nice touch that they offer a complimentary brunch libation with the meal, that’s always our favorite part anyway. We will definitely be back!
Calamari app, great burger, wife had salmon. Drinks and wine were not skimpy by any means. Service attentive as usual.Always good food here. Noise level is high but tolerable. Easy parking with own lot and valet.
Here once a month. Would anyone go back to a restaurant where the food wasn’t good or the service is intolerable.
Lovely appearance! We were upstairs and it was extremely noisy. I was on a date and we could not hear each other. My vodka tonic was not good but the staff took their time in handling requests, so I suffered. (I only had half of my drink!). The valets did not greet us at the top of the hill near the entrance to Thyme but made us go down the hill and then we had to climb the hill to get to the front door! The food was great the prices high, not to mention the bar charges. The bottom line...fix the sound damping system, get a great bartender, get better valets, rework your price margins. Have house managers who sense and fix defects before the diners are aware of them!
Returned here for first time in a while. Environment is pleasant, service professional, food very good, live music mediocre and way too loud, glasses offered by the wine did not include sufficient number of better wines.
Biggest gripe was their focus on closing time - a particular annoyance on a Friday night when the weekend's just beginning and you want to relax. We made a 9 pm reservation. I called five minutes before to say we were running 10-15 minutes late. I was told that last reservation was 9:45 and kitchen closes at ten. I said not a problem we'd be there soon. At ten we were told we had to order dessert right away because kitchen was closing. At 10:30 when we had just finished eating and hadn't received check yet the staff was clearly shutting down around us and we began to feel uncomfortable sitting at the table. We eat late often, especially on a Friday, and have not had this experience elsewhere. If the most important consideration is to close by 11, then they shouldn't be taking reservations til 9:45.
My Grandma and I found exactly what we were looking for when coming to Thyme earlier this week for dinner. Everything about the night was superb. The staff was outstanding and extremely attentive to the two of us on a busy night. We really loved our time here and the pre-fixe menu! Well worth it. We got Mussels and Butternut Squash Ravioli as our first course which were both DELISH! Then, we both chose the Short Rib Papparadelle as our Main. OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Dessert, we did Creme Caramel & Chocolate Torte w/ Vanilla Ice Cream and again were both very satasifed! We will be returning very soon for sure.
Hadn't been here for a while, was happy to see that the food was still delicious! We both had the tasty butternut squash soup, then she Had a turkey burger platter while I had a salad. We each thought they were delicious. The piece de resistance was the tray of freshly baked cookies which we shared for dessert! About 5 or 6 different type cookies were served warm, straight from the oven, and they were scrumptious! We had a lovely time and a great conversation since we hadn't seen each other in a while. so happy her birthday celebration was perfect!
Quaint little venue in Roslyn Village. Food was good, but the service was just ok. The bartender seemed extremely distracted and was not personable at all. Had to ask twice for another drink and it wasn't a packed bar. Overall we had an enjoyable experience. Not sure that we'd return, though.
Thyme has been a favorite for many years. The special Restaurant Week menu was a great reason to go back. As usual, it did not disappoint. Uniformly great food. We started with the butternut squash soup and the kale and brussels sprouts salad, followed by the scallops and shrimp and papardalle entrees. Finished with the apple tart dessert. All great choices. Our server, Lucas, was superb. A great experience and we will be back.
