Usual fine dining and attentive service in both official languages. Abbreviated theatre menu available for those in a hurry. Food is top notch but the wine list is pricey with bottles starting at $50. and rising quickly. Wine is available by the glass. Ambiance is good. Parking available across the street.
SVP m'écrire en français. J'ai adoré mon brunch de la fête des mères; étant seule je me suis assise au bar le service de Paul impeccable et le repas à la hauteur de mes espérances; merci et à bientôt;
Premier jours sur la belle terrasse du Bistro Thursday's.. C'était un Vendredi midi pour le lunch, pas trop de monde et ambiance relax...
Tout comme dans les annees 80, je recommande cet endroit classique du Downtown life de Montreal. 😊
We were entertaining guests from out of town.It was brunch. The kitchen forgot to make one meal and the order of toast. Coffee service was sporadic and often luke warm. We waited forever for our meal and then our guests meal was missing ! Not good. Great service was always a given here. This time there were not many people and loads of waiters but the service was terrible . Food was mediocre
Service is very good. Varied menu. Nice feel. Tony has done a very good job managing the resto. Try the Caesar salad. Liver is great too. Wine is reasonable.
Service was excellent and so was the food. We will be back.
Excellent brunch. Homemade Hollandaise sauce. Potatoes great. Terrific salad. I also loved the bloody Mary
Were there for Easter brunch. Excellent but a bit crowded ...understandably so as it was Easter.
Like the idea of the brunch menu given at the table avoiding lineups
The service was beyond expectations....server Vincent
Will be back!
The Brunch was amazing, food, thursdays ceasar cocktail, service and the restaurant is beautiful. Nice table with view on the street.
They’ve changed the format of the brunch and the selections are limited and the food was atrocious. The fruit and pasties were good but the brunch (omelette and eggs) were horrible.
The service was good but when I expressed my complaint to the manager he made up some lame excuse about being short staffed and said “at least the service was good!”
I paid nearly 70$ for eggs that were poorly prepared. Will never return and will never bring my groups there in future.
Pretty decent place! It was slightly loud: I couldn't hear much of what my friends were saying and I needed to talk louder too. Sadly, I know this is not the staff's fault, it's actually more the customers' fault.
Besides that, the menu was good. I loved the plate I ordered. My friends and I enjoyed the music that was being played. It really improved our experience overall. It is a place I would recommend for business dinners and slightly chic birthdays.
Been going my whole life this place is a Montreal legend.
Ok food. Drink pours—on a martini—are pretty petite.
Delicious. Huge portions. Highly recommend!!!!!
I came here for Sunday brunch as it had been recommended to me by a friend.
If there is one thing that Québécois Love.... it’s their potatoes! Potatoes come with just about everything!
1/3 of my omelette plate was potatoes... the other 1/3 was a salad with a vinaigrette and the last 1/3 was the omelette itself.
I love breakfast and consider myself an omelette snob and I have to say, I was not impressed. There was no seasoning even with all the vegetables in it.
You do get pastries , fruit , juice and coffee if you order brunch so the value is definitely there!
I’ve not yet come here for lunch but dinner would be what I recommend.
I’ll definitely be back!
Oh and by the way... OpenTable shows you can make Sunday brunch reservations between 7:00 am on. This is inaccurate! They do not open until 10:30 am on Sunday’s!
I come here every time I am in Montreal. I was looking forward to their halibut in parchment paper and was sad to see it was not on the menu. However I decided to try their Veal Osso Bucco and it was AMAZING!
This place knows how to ensure you leave with a full stomach! While you wait for your dish, they provide bread, olive tapenade, butter, cheddar cheese and small pickles.
The service is fantastic and is always an all around pleasure to dine here.
I’ll be back for Sunday brunch!
We ended up on the bar side by mistake. The bistro is much quieter! Food was good and so was the service. We would probably try something else if in Montreal in the near future. The dining room is very well decorated.
Food was ok, but both our dishes were definitely under-seasoned. Service was good. We were a little bit disappointed overall
we went for brunch based on the menu however, when we got there, it was not applicable and a special more expensive menu was in play, this should be indicated when making the reservation - if you show the menu on open table, it should be the accurate one.
We attended the Christmas Brunch. It was a great family atmosphere and our 4 year old had a blast, face painting and Santa was great! Thank you!
Nice ambiance, the food was amazing, very nice decor and there is a special vibe that make you feel very confortable .
Very Nice expérience 👌👍👏
Service was extremely slow, the dining room was almost empty so no ambiance whatsoever. It was a thursday noon and I have been regular customer in the past and never saw this resto so empty!
Bon repas Entre associés en affaires.
Third time here - food was fantastic as always. The calf liver is my favorite. Ambiance with the Christmas decorations on the terrace were a great touch. I look forward to coming again.
J’ai pris le steak tartare bien relevé, une spécialité depuis toujours. Excellent. Seul critique, une mayonnaise faite maison serait à faire.
Food was to die for. Friendly service. Lovely place where you don’t need to dress up to get wonderful, fancy, foodie food. Pretty large portions. Bistro is upstairs - very different from the loud, crowded bar! Definitely recommend for special occasions.
Food was good at bistro but the service was very long and timing was off by waiter.... on the other hand at Bar down stairs our bar tender Raul was amazing top notch service very very good....
In all, it was okay.....but I still enjoyed it.....but would not go back.
we ordered the Rib streak special, not at all as advertised in the photo. I thick steal servered on a cutting board served perfectly cooked with a hot pink center. What we got was a flatish grey steak. Neddless to say we were NOT satisfied. They did offer to replace the main meal I opted for a complimentary dessert.
The Steak tartar was also a miss. Over spiced with only black pepper, somewhat dryer than usual. It was fine but NOT up to the usual par.
This was the 2nd miss at one of my favorite's
Beautiful setting in the heart of Montréal; great balcony and cosy and warm interior. This is traditional and authentic fare, with an excellent pastry chef as well!
We find L'Academie on Crescent always reliable and friendly. The food has never disappointed and the staff are super! We use it often as a "home away from home" and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great BYOB restaurant!
We waited over an hour for our food only to find out the waitress had improperly taken our order. The food was very disappointing.
Overall don't waste your time nor money there.
Excellent service et nourriture, bien présenter et ambiance agréable... Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une table sur la terrasse qui nous a permis d'apprécier l'une de ces rares occasions ou l'on est a l’extérieur avec une température d'été.
The special lunch menu is both creative and very tasty and very well priced - a four course meal for less than $25.
The service is professional.
If you order a bottle of wine and cannot finish it - you can take it home with you.
I like taking my students there for celebratory lunches after their thesis hearings.
It is also a very reasonable choice for lunch meetings with friends or working meeting with colleagues.
We were at the bistro and the terrasse is just gorgeous! Sensational view and atmosphere. The food was excellent, but pretty pricey.
Good food and service. Waiter was helpful with recommendations. Reasonable prices. The upstairs patio was lovely after the sun went down behind the buildings. Noise level was low enough to talk, but we could still see the street scene.
The rib steak was so salty it was barely edible. The shrimp on the Nordic shrimp appetizer was soggy and mushy. It was out of a can and cold on a hot appetizer. Veal tenderloin was okay. Waitress was good. Wouldn't go back!
Good food, great staff, great experience. Great spot on Crescent.
We have been going to Thursday's for forty years. The food is better than ever. A perfect Montréal Bistro!
