The service was mediocre at best. When they brought the food out, they just put plates down anywhere did not even ask people what they had. We were a party of 7 and had to pass the plates around. 3 of us ordered eggs benedict and it was ice cold. The manager heard me and said can I get you another order (We were already half way through our food because our waiter never came by to ask how everything was) and declined. Literally as we were getting ready to leave, the eggs came out again. We came down from Sonoma County to take my daughter out for her bday. I expected way better service and food in San Mateo; you can get much better in Sonoma and Napa. Would not recommend at all.

disappointed w/ the waffle w/ bacon and chicken- waffle seemed like it’s been sitting around for an hour before getting on my table; pomegranate lemonade was disgustingly sweet and jar was sticky

This place offers a diner quality of food and service disguised in a nicer decor than a diner.

We always enjoy three restaurant. The food is delicious and there are always seasonal specials, and the staff members are friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend Three Restaurant to anyone who knows good food.

New Years eve. We had not been to this local restaurant in at least a year. Remembered it as having some good small plates. We ordered 2 apps, calamari and the Maple Chipotle chicken wings. Wings were outstanding, Calamari was pretty good...
3 meals; Chicken Apple salad, pulled pork and squash and the hanger steak. All were very good. We were just hoping for something decent since we made reservations at the last minute. 3 was not my first choice. However, we had a great experience, good service, great food in a really cozy spot. Only ding was for the lack of Champaign by the glass, especially on New Years eve.
We will be back!

Ordered chicken waffle and deep fried French toast. Chicken was just okay while waffle was not tasty. Was expecting a fresh crispy waffle: however, the waffle was not crispy and not fresh at all. Was the worst fried chicken waffle I have ever had. Deep fried french toast was very oily but since it is deep fried, it was what I was expected. Inside ambience is great and servers are nice.

Food was average, it was good, but did not blow my socks off. Ambiance is nice, with a dim lit and cozy atmosphere.

First visit and was very pleased ... service was attentive and appropriate, food was excellent. The large main space with huge street-side glass windows requires early day temperature adjustment as it was unfortunately not warm enough inside.

Waiter was very nice but there was a large party ahead of us and our food was delayed a long time. It put a damper on the whole evening.

Made reservation for 10, when I arrived 6 minutes after 10, I was told we had to be out by 11:15.
The eggs Benedict were so under cooked they had to be sent back. The server was great, but the Fare was mediocre at best. Really disappointed, as previous visits were really enjoyable. Don't know if they we focused on the "private party" coming in at 11 or were just having an off day, but the food was definitely not up to par.

I enjoy the food at Three. Usually I go in for brunch with family. The omelets are very good.
Tried the Chilaquilles this time, it was awesome. My mother who does not like to go outside the norm took a chip and then I noticed she was reaching over and taking more when I wasn't looking. the fruit was ok but out of season so it did not have much flavor. Otherwise everything I have tried has been terrific.
The main room is loud when full so it is hard to hear. We have sat in the back of the restaurant and it was much better.

Went with my daughter for the first time. What a gem! The pumpkin ginger soup was very nice and the butternut squash ravioli was outstanding. The apple and prosciutto pizza was also delightful. I'll bring a friend back to try other things from the menu. Definitely will be back.

Thanksgiving was the occasion. We all has other than turkey. All seemed to enjoy, but my New York steak dish seemed too salty and over produced. Do you really have to drown steak in sauce ?

The service was terrible. It was a Saturday night and they were busy, but it took 15 minutes from the time we were seated to be greeted and asked for drink orders. The restaurant has a sports bar vibe, so I figured fried food was the way to go, however my food wasn’t cooked all the way through, and once the food arrived we didn’t see our server again for an hour.

Food took forever to arrive (>30 min). As this was a business meeting it became quite awkward because of the long wait. The given reason - a big party in a private room - doesn't cut it.
Food was fine. Nothing to write home about.

The noise level here (for Sunday brunch) was overwhelming - I can't imagine what it's like on a weekend night. The veggies in my omelet were more charred than I like, so I wasn't overly impressed with the food.

All four of our dinners and our two desserts were delicious! The restaurant was not crowded, so the noise level was good, and we could take our time. The service was friendly and prompt. I would recommend Three to everyone, and will go back again soon myself!

Absolutely love this restaurant! My favorite girls night out dinner. The food is amazing, we shared the mushroom stogies and cheese appetizer, I then had the French onion soup which was AMAZING and to end the perfect meal we shared the pumpkin brûlée which was to die for. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!
