We dined outside in the lovely courtyard... our server was attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely will return to enjoy again.
Our dining at TCI was amazing! We were luck enough to enjoy the outdoor patio. It was decorated beautifully so that we could enjoy nature, while enjoying our fabulous dinner.
The food was awesome. Even better our server, Justin was delightful!!
Thank you. We will be back again and again.
Open table reservation didn’t show at restaurant so had to show email?
Food and service were fantastic and on a pretty patio
Had a lovely dinner out on the patio with my husband after dropping off our daughter at UNH.
Great food! Beautiful atmosphere!
The food and environment were excellent, though the service took much longer than expected given the size/type of order. We were there for nearly 2 hours for a light dinner for 2.
Fabulous service and food! Atmosphere is quaint too. Highly recommend!
Ate we ate in the Tavern on the lower level. Incredible ambience and great food and wine
We ate in thr Ffrost Tavern. Generally quiet, with good service. The food was excellent. It was a very pleasant dinner.
Our waitress ,Romaine was wonderful. We will request her the next time we go!
The reservation process was simple. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the tavern area. It certainly felt like a slice of old New Hampshire, very rustic. The service was excellent and everyone in our party enjoyed their meals very much! The Menu was somewhat limited if you’re comparing to chain or franchise restaurants. However it definitely felt like a special occasion.
We normally love Three Chimneys Inn, but the prime rib special tasted like corned beef.
Although a wonderful location and beautiful grounds, the food does not meet the standards of their long and exceptional reputation. a better wine list can be found at a chain restaurant and their wines by the bottle selection need even greater improvement. I must say our salads were delicious, almost like the lettuce was just picked from their garden. The entrees (fried haddock, Veal dish, steak dish and one special, which was also steak) fell flat. They all lacked flavor, some were overcooked and the steak cuts appeared to be of low quality. The service however was stellar. It is a great spot with lots of history and happy and cheerful staff but sadly the food is just not up to par.
The menu was diverse. Everything on it was appealing. Our server was friendly and gracious!
$200 for tavern food wasn't great. I understand dining in a COVID world isn't the best, but cramming all your guests into the tavern isn't the answer. Put us upstairs in the dining room where you can spread the tables out. Most of our meals were slightly undercooked despite their good quality. Obviously the chef had not tasted the carrots before sending them out. (flavorless and hard) We mentioned that we were there to celebrate a birthday on OpenTable, yet no mention was ever made by our server. Not sure where the ball got dropped there. I would come back, but not right away.
Good and bad. Bad: When we arrived we waited for someone to greet us but had to find our own way to the Tavern. Once there the hostess told us that we were seated upstairs in the overflow area where the ambiance was lacking. I was disappointed as I assumed we would be in the Tavern area. We were told that often when booked on Open Table seating was second tier. The Wine list was poor. Good: The food was delicious and the menu adequate. Our server was very congenial and helpful. Bottom line - we drove 45 minutes to go to Three Chimneys so it was a haul. We won't be going back unfortunately.
Loved the decor, restaurant from 1646
The food was great and plenty of it
Very nice personable server
Loved the time between courses too
The prices are quite steep, especially alcohol. We were in one of the most romantic areas of the Pub, next to the fire. The ambience was amazing, the food was great, service was good, but it was a little loud, surprisingly.
We lived every minute of our experience. Romaine was fantastic and the food was delicious d
Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Our food was excellent and we had a great Valentine’s date night.
We really enjoyed our dinner there. The waitress was a bit aloof and failed to bring us our second round of drinks but otherwise it was very nice.
Service was just outstanding.
The Three Chimneys Inn has a great atmosphere for date night or any get-together. The tavern is cozy and intimate and the food is always delicious! We can’t wait to visit again soon.
The tavern atmosphere was quaint and they captured the essence of the history of the building. Overall it was a pleasant surprise and wed GI back again.
Nicole. Thank you for your 5 star review. We are happy you enjoyed the atmosphere and history of the building. Stay safe and we hope to see you back again soon. The TCI Team
Thank you to the staff at Three Chimney - the food, drink and atmosphere were all terrific! Great option for a relaxing night out.
We recently dined at the Three Chimney's Tavern and had a delicious and memorable meal. There were three in our party. We started with a fun cocktail...Buh Bye 2020...gin, fresh squeezed lemon and a honey simple syrup...outstanding! Plus a Shirley Temple (heavy on the cherries) for my son and an IPA for my husband. For our dinners we enjoyed a perfectly grilled strip steak, potato crusted haddock, the fish and chips, and finished by sharing the decadent brownie a la mode dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious! Our server Romaine, was warm and friendly and shared some helpful insight with my son who was touring UNH. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Everything was impeccably clean and we felt very safe. A true gem in Durham and we look forward to returning.
