Thousand Pound is back and better than ever. Reopening on Thursday, 5 September, in the heart of Main Street, Rutherglen, our beloved local is unveiling a refreshed menu for Spring 2024. Executive Chef Jack Cassidy (also of KIN, New Regional Restaurant of the Year 2024) has crafted an exciting fusion of modern Australian and Asian influences, featuring vibrant flavours from China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Nepal. Pair bold, flavoursome dishes with local family-owned wines, unique wine cocktails, and craft beers. With produce from our own farms and local growers, our menu will change regularly, keeping each visit fresh and exciting. Great food and service. Really good drink selection and excellent vibes inside. The service was really human for a restaurant of this quality and that really mattered to me ! Nice work.

Thousand Pounds food was fabulous. There was so many yummy dishes to choose from, so we opted for the feed me option and was blown away with the favours of every dish. Excellent value too. Highly recommend the Rutherglen gem.

We were warned… …warned that we’d have to be rolled out! Had a great dinner with some interesting and tasty small plates. It was the last onion ring that pushed me over the edge. No regrets.

Booked a few weeks ago for our Annivesary. The greeting was just sit over there. Didnt get new cutlery after entree. Trout was dry and from a packet you use on a cheese board. Had to ask for condements. Then stung with a 2.08% card fee.

Enjoyed our meal but there was no ‘wow’ factor that we have experienced before. Unfortunately dining out is becoming so expensive and I really am looking for something that leaves me with a feeling of “wow that was great” and I really want to come back again. This did not occur on this occasion.
