Millcreek Grille at Thistledown Racino
A very nice dining experience. However, we just wish the restaurant would open earlier on weekends. I think three PM on Saturday and Sunday would be well received.
Great restaurant great experience will return soon
Good place to grab some food while at Thistledown whether you are gambling or not. The food quality is excellent... BUT... we have now been there twice and both times (once a ribeye steak and once a burger) the meat has been overcooked. Asked for Medium and it was Medium Well at best. Asked for Medium Rare and we were mistakenly served a Well Done..... If they can fix this; A-1.
I have not went to Millcreek yet and have been disappointed. The food, atmosphere and customer service is superb.
Ordered crab cakes. They were badly burned on the underside. Waitress and manager were quick to take care of the situation and gave us free dessert. First basket of rolls were hard so the waitress waited until the fresh ones came out and brought them out still nice and warm. Excellent servers.
it has been hit or miss
better when it first opened
needs to teach not to serve all your food at once
complained but on deaf ears
My Mom and I visit Millcreek at least once a month. We really enjoy the atmosphere.
The food has always been good. However, the service can be somewhat challenging at times; however, the service we received Friday night was EXCELLENT!!!
Food was good. Nice portions and food presentation was excellent.
First time at Thistledown. Very convenient, nice restaurant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Bread/rolls were delicious. Braised beef short rib was good, mashed potatoes a little too thick. Enjoyed the salad with apple vinaigrette dressing. The salmon was delicious and cooked as requested. One disappointment was that a salad could not be substituted for one of the two sides that came with the dinners and had to be purchased separately. The other disappointment was that we requested the Notre Dame/Pitt football game be put on one of the TVs instead of a no-name, less popular game that no patrons seemed to be watching. The channel was never changed, even after we politely asked two or three times. Other than those two issue, it was a good experience.
Food, drinks, service all were great! French onion soup is the best I've had in some time!
I would have given them 5 starts but, the food could have been a lot warmer. Service could have been faster and sides should have included a salad. Not just potatoes and a cooked veggie.
Server Thomas hustles! We had stopped going to Millcreek related to the poor service, although the food was good. This time both the food and service were very good. I had the salmon and my partner had the lemon chicken entree, they arrived hot and in a timely manner. Our server was very pleasant and efficient, the hostess was a team player greeting & seating customers and clearing tables. Nice to see the improvements.
First time there and was pleasantly surprised. Food was reasonably priced and excellent. Service was great too.
My husband and I both had the prime rib Saturday Special and it was very good. It was a little overcooked so next time I will order it differently. Other than that everything else on the menu that came to the table was cooked nicely and came to the table in a timely fashion. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and plan on visiting it in the future.
Every Time my Mom and myself eat at Mill creek we have a wonderful time. Great atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended.
I Love this restaurant from the beginning to the end.
The waitress was not well trained. She brought the incorrect wine and tried to hard to make me believe that it was the wine I ordered. Finally she apologized, never brought the correct wine and charged more than the original ordered wine. I had a $200.00 gift card from Racino, spent $135.00 and charged extra for the unwanted wine. I think that earned an unsatisfactory experience at the restaurant.

First visit and we decided on this restaurant last minute via the app. Our server, Jacqueline was okay. As "she knows everybody" but didn't recognize us was not very helpful or informative about the restaurant/menu. One of us had the Prime Rib which was not cooked properly and the sides were not warm. I had the Grilled Lemon Chicken that was good. Wine list is very lacking and limited so we each had a glass only.
Waited a long time for service but once we received it she was very good
This was my third and final attempt to have a good experience. I was planning to use food credit and comps so it would have been a free meal but this time we left even before we got water. We arrived at 735 with reservations at 745. We were told they would prepare a table and to sit in the waiting area. As we were waiting we saw the hostess seat the folks behind us in our seat by mistake. She apologized and prepared another table for us. We were seated at 743. At 750 I got up to ask the hostess if we had a server. At 752 our server showed up, she had been waiting tables all around us and not once said she would be right with us. We ordered water and a drink each. She promptly brought out bread but then disappeared. We got up and left at 802 because we still hadn't received water!! Unfortunately this is similar to our first 2 visits. If you can eventually get your food it tastes great but the service and management is miserable. They would be better off eliminating their front staff and increasing the kitchen staff and have panera type ordering on an iPad and pick up your own food when it is ready. We gave them 3 attempts before writing a bad review. We will never be back.
Mushroom Burger was bland. French onion soup was cold. Meals weren’t served at the same time, about 15 minutes apart.
It was Father's Day. It was busy. The waitress did everything she could. The kitchen was really behind. The manager was trying to help but he did more harm than good. In the end they removed my salad from the bill because it never was served. They forgot to load up the baked potato, they forgot the sauce. Finally it was so screwed up they took the entire meal off the bill. The waitress was very polite, there was nothing she could do. The manager is lowsy. He needs to go!
Our reservation was for 5:00. They open at 5:00. However, even though they just opened they were out of a lot of the items on the menu. No baked potatoes, no sweet potatoes, etc. How can you be out of things and you just opened. I will not visit there again.
Great Prime Rib, great service, large portions. easy valet parking
My wife and I had a filet and fried catfish respectively. Both were very good. Steak cooked perfectly and corn meal breaded catfish which was recommended by our waiter Giles exceeded expectations. Good bread and, perfectly cooked sweet potatoes made for and enjoyable meal.
I made a reservation because I was celebrating my birthday and I did not know how crowded it would be. I shouldn’t have bothered because the hostess could have cared less. Not only did she not ask for our name but she didn’t acknowledge if she even had a reservation for us. I really was hoping for a better experience as it took some convincing to get my husband to come along!
Food was Very Good and so was the service. Will attend again well worth the visit. Enjoy
Atmosphere was cozy service was excellent food was great per people in my group the only downside was there were no vegan options I am vegan and would like to see at least 4 options for myself in entree ,appetizers and at least 2 every where else. It’s actually very easy to prepare and create vegan dishes.
This was my first time at one of the newer restaurants at the Casino. The occasion was Mothers Day and my mother had never been to the casino at all. I made the reservation several weeks in advance. The hostess was very rude and I almost walked out because of how she treated us. I would have liked a table near the windows and was told no because they might get a group of 4 and it was just me and my mother. I feel you should accommodate the customers you have at the moment and not some "potential" group that "may" come in. Turns out while we were seated they filled those window seats all 5 of them with 2 guest at each. I felt slighted and very frustrated. The only saving grace with the meal was good and the waiter was great. The prices and atmosphere lend itself very well to a upscale bar and grille, with that in mind the wait staff should be in black slacks and a button down. Jeans and t-shirts just doesn't match with your price point nor the beautiful setting. Thank You.
The food was really good. The service slow. I would definitely try it again. Maybe just a bad day for servers.
So we made a reservation for 7:15. We were able to get seated a little early. Our appetizer came out at about 7:45. Our actual meals came out about an hour and a half later - one by one and there was four of us!! Food was great except my husband had to eat his dinner alone - his came out so late everyone else was finished. We didn’t order anything that required tons of prep and work - soup, a couple sandwiches and fish. Our server was great - very honest on a mistake in the kitchen and the manager comped our entire dinner. Very nice of him- however we would have rather paid and had our dinner together as a group of friends as we planned! I I’ll probably go back and give it another try since the food good and our server was AWESOME!! I also noticed that the table next to us waited very patiently - their dinner took at least an hour to get to their table. Too bad because it has a very clean look and good atmosphere for a casino restaurant.
The Customer Service at Millcreek is superb. The Ambiance is wonderful and the food is terrific. My mother and I have dined at Millcreek twice and never had a bad experience. We definitely plan on dining there again.
We can’t to the restaurant for my husband’s birthday. We had a great time and Angel is the best casino hostess ever !!!
Bone-in Ribeye cooked to perfection. Ribs were juicy. Sides were adequate. Food presentation was good. Server was fair as was service. Manager came by to ask if everything was okay, which was very nice since a lot of restaurants dont do that.
Sorry Millcreek, we won't be back. I love Thistledown, we visit weekly.
However, this is probably 4th time we've really tried to like Millcreek but each time:
Understaffed, unacceptable wait time to be welcomed, water brought, S L O W kitchen, under cooked, over cooked, I feel so sorry for wait staff.
Understaffed - every time? "someone called off ...."
Hostess - non smiling, doesn't seem to care to be there, seats and strolls away...
Waiter- waiting on nearly every table in the place, no water, no rolls, no refills
Misc employees, strolling talking, not trying to assist waiter at all
Kitchen - slow slow slow - and this time there were only about 6 tables filled (??)
message to self - don't go back.
Sorry Millcreek, your food is good, but I don't have two hours for a burger after work!
Omg Me And My Husband Went For Dinner And It Was Awesome!! We Told Are Family And Went Back The Next Night .And Sat At The Bar And Had Drinks And Food .Im Taking My Dad There This Week For Dinner.
You Guy's Are Fantastic!!😃
The 18oz steak was phenomenal!!!! The salmon rocked!
The service was good. The two hamburgers were not up to par for the price.
Waiter was very good. Kitchen was slow. We were seated at 5:00 ordered our meals at 5:15 were served our meals at 6:00 and food was cold on arrival. Sent 1 meal back to kitchen and waited another 20 minutes. Food was good.
