The food was excellent. The staff was super friendly and willing to work with a food allergy, and the bar staff knew their stuff.
We will definitely dine here again.
We decided on the restaurant week menu and everything was delicious. Our server was fantastic too.
Very loud. I don’t recall it being extreme loud music in the past. The menu was great and we tried the fixed price 3-course menu. Very good.
My one dislike is the use of main server contact and then numerous runners who bring items to the table. Total disconnect. The runners just dump your stuff - never know who gets what etc. not certain why restaurants think this works. Very impersonal.
Good waitress the food was fine plenty of time to eat before she came by.
Had a great double date here, food was amazing and drinks were very good as well!
Always a favorite place and never disappoints!
Wish they had better social distancing in place.
Great food, great service. Would recommend & definitely eat there again.
Everything was good except my husbands ramen tasted more like vegetables then pork
Service was great. We dined on the patio due in part, to the noise inside. We each seemed to enjoy our meal.
The service was not good. 4 or us went to Lunch. 4 specialty salads with water so really simple ordering. Really slow service and the waitress disappeared when we wanted to pay our bill and leave. Didn't see her for 25 or more minutes. When it was time to pay the bill the 4 of us wanted to have separate checks. We were told they could only split the bill evenly between the 4 or us. OK, fine. Instead of having a printed invoice listing the items that we ordered like other place do, we were told that we had to pay on a handheld credit card scanning device brought to our table. There was no way to see what we ordered to check if it was correct and there was just a total for each of us to pay. Because of time constraints for waiting so long for our bill, 3 or the 4 had to leave immediately to get back to work. The total split 4 ways for the bill was way too high to be accurate but we had no invoice to look at. I stayed behind to check on the bill as it seemed completely wrong. It turns out that the waitress had added in numerous drinks and appetizers to our bill that we didn't order or receive and then split the amount where we couldn't verify anything. After talking to 2 different managers, one in person and one that I had to call later in the day they finally billed us the correct amount. These credit card scanner devices really make it a detriment to paying a bill as they don't show what items were ordered and only have a dollar amount to pay. Almost too convenient if someone wants to run a scam on you. I cannot recommend going to The Thirsty Lion because of all of the added time and effort it took just to get an accurate bill. I wasted an hour of my time waiting for someone to help me resolve the issue and then talking to 2 different managers to get it fixed. A huge fail on many levels. The food itself was tasty but policies of billing without listing what you ordered along with either a lazy waitress or short staffing ruined the experience.
Thank you Grant for providing us with this feedback. I am so sorry to hear this was what you experienced on your recent visit. The General Manager Sean is following up with the team about this experience. We clearly had a training issue with this team member and we apologize. We are following up to ensure this server has more training as it is normally simple to split checks. Sean would like to reach out off line to apologize. If inclined, please email me at adubois@ceghospitality. Thank you
We stayed longer and once did not order anymore drinks server stop coming by to check on us. We were thinking of staying a little longer and order another drink but server never came back
Fun place - pub burger was delicious
We went for breakfast, and asked if they had fruit bowl. We were told yes, apples, mango ,etc. The “fruit” bowl we were served was canned mandarin oranges and a few pieces of orange. Very disappointing.
Great service!!! Yummy food!
Really good food, large selection of beers, swift service, hygienic! Have been there several times, will go again as well. The background music is on quite high volume and the ceiling is high, resulting in some echo, so the noise level indoors is definitely noticeable. I think it depends on personal preferences, whether it is a pro or a con. Certainly ambience is very lively!
Food was good! Birthday treat was awesome. Quite a lot of people so service was a little slow.
Amazing service, great food drinks and atmosphere. Will return back
Everything was great!
Great food but it was a bit warm and noisy with lots of wining kids around us.
Pretty good food, broad selection. Very good service at this location. It was a little loud for a business lunch; I had to strain a bit to hear my client sitting across from me.
Ordered the Mac and cheese and it was not very good in my opinion. It had a weird soapy after taste to it I’m not sure why. But the staff was very nice and understanding about it, probably won’t go back though not good enough quality for the cost, we paid $10 for cheese curds and only got like 7 curds.
We celebrated my birthday and what a wonderful experience. Our server was awesome. We will continue to celebrate special occasions at Thirsty Lion. Tempe market Place the San Tan.
Too loud to hear each other
This is a great restaurant with a fun and interesting menu, both for food and drinks. It can be a little loud, so maybe not the best destination if you're having a work meeting. Their mac-n-cheese dishes are to die for, but the fish and chips and the shrimp tacos are amazing as well!
We enjoyed and had a great server with Jessica! We will be back!
We really enjoyed our meal. I thought music a little loud but I’m a senior now.. our server Gloria was awesome. Thank you
really great service and food was quick to come out even though it was very busy....food was amazing.
Food waa good minus the artichoke dip and calamari. I didn't like that a high top for 6 people had 10 plus people around it allowed when we're trying to enjoy dinner and a playoff basketball game. They took over the views of thw tv which was so annoying
Was there for the Suns playoff game and the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely will go back… service was good despite it being packed. Loved it.
Brunch was awesome as always!! The Whiskey French Toast is the best!! Bloody Mary's too!!!
Good service followed by good food, what's not to like!
Way too loud
Disappointing. The table we were assigned was towards the back of the shop and adjacent to a large party - an extremely loud party. I have been in less noisy airports. Companion and I were almost shouting at one another to be heard. Our waitperson was pleasant but AWOL most of the time. Took over 15 minutes for him to bring my orange juice and when I ordered a coffee, no spoon or sugar at first. Another 10 minutes before he returned and I asked him for both. Also, in this era of heightened concern over sanitation, our table was rather dirty (encrusted food from a prior customer). The Lion would not be my first choice in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We are disheartened to hear it was a less than great experience. The General Manager would like to reach out to you personally and apologize. If inclined, please email me at adubois@ceghospitality. Thank you and we appreciate the opportunity to fix this and welcome you back for another visit.
Our server Jessica was so kind and attentive. Food was very delicious. It was slightly hard to talk do to noise level, but we did have a wonderful time in spite of that.
Thank you for choosing to dine with us for your special occasion and for providing the details. We will share this with Jessica and our staff. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
We spent Father's Day at the Thirsty Lion and were not disappointed. It was a fun way to celebrate, watch the Sun's game (which was a big hit with Dad!), and enjoy a nice lunch. The food was good. I wouldn't rate it as great, but overall it was good. The drinks were generous and our waitress was fantastic. The mood in the place was upbeat as well. My only concern is that if you are sitting on the side with the pizza oven, it was pretty darn warm inside - particularly on a hot Arizona day. I was glad we were at the far end of the restaurant where it was really pleasant inside. Overall, our experience was good and we enjoyed the special day!
Thank you Jeanne for joining us for Father's Day and this detailed review. Unfortunately, we did suffer that weekend with ac equipment troubles. It is not usually that warm as it was that weekend. We look forward to having you back soon for a much cooler visit. Thank you again!
Seemed understaffed. Server wasn’t overly attentive, albeit, it was Father’s Day - but not super busy yet
Thank you Jennifer for this feedback. We really do use this to help us improve. We look forward to providing you with a 5 star experience next time!
Thank you for joining us for Father's day and providing us with this 5 star review!
Father’s Day brunch was delicious! Best French toast ever! Great experience. We will be back.
Wow thank you for this wonderful review. We really appreciate it! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Amy
