Great food, slow service and only half the tables were full. Hard to visit, very loud.
My friend and I went for the first time together. I had made a reservation through OT ahead of time. When we arrived, there was a line of people waiting, and all tables seemed full, but we were seated immediately. There is a wide selection of food and beverages, from sushi, sandwiches, tacos, burgers and pasta. For how crowded the restaurant was, we were pleasantly surprised how quickly we received our food. Everything tasted great! The location is also really nice, would want to eat here again after a concert or movie next door.
Service was exceptional and the seasonal menu for St Patrick's day, I had the shepard's pie, was awesome. There are also special drink options available.
Met more family!! In town for a cheerleading competition.
Despicable. Our server acted stoned. Forgot my drink when served my husband then asked again what I ordered. Came back 3 times and I had to remind her again about my glass of wine. Food was poor. We will not be back.
Absolutely delicious food and excellent coffee. Definitely worth another visit
Great first experience dining at Thirsty Lion. Our waiter was very engaging and welcoming. He had some great recommendations and was attentive to our needs. Will definitely return.
Overall food was excellent, service was good- the noise level for a monday night was pretty loud, had trivia night going, but couldnt understand anything being said since we were on the other side of the resturant, so it sounded more like loud muffled noise adding to the already loud resturant. Love trivia nights, but like to be able to listen in. Ordered a scotch, recieved maybe 1-1.5 part pour- cost $15!?! Could go to Alamo a few doors down with a better menu and get more for less with a better drink menu. Will still come back for food, but might stick to water next time and go to Alamo after.
Highly recommend will definitely return. Very good experience.
This is an amazing place to hang out with friends. Has the best space, best bar area, and outdoor seating. The view is great. Waitstaff amazing, and loved how the managers walked around constantly. Must visit!
The food and beverages were outstanding. I had the pear martini and honestly one of the best drinks ever. The queso was great and the pepper bacon cheeseburger was superb as well. All in our party had great things to say about their food as well. Only item not enjoyed was a margarita ordered by another in the party. The server was nice and accurate, but super slow to start. Overall, will definitely be back. Actually planning to bring my husband for a date night very soon.
I would recommend this place, but I would warn them how loud it is. There is no way to have a conversation. But it would be a great place to go watch a game. Food was good, service was good too for as busy as it was.
The food and drinks were AMAZING. Service was very slow, it was extremely loud in there but overall experience was great.
We went for the first time for our Anniversary. The food was amazing and the service was even better. They brought us a free dessert and had a card that the staff signed. It was so sweet and thoughtful. Made our night.
I like the Thirsty Lion. It is probably my wife's favorite restaurant at this time. We had a party of 4. Everyone enjoyed their food selection from the Brunch menu. The mishap was with my beverage. My 3 guests received their beverages in a reasonable amount of time, but I did not. Initially I thought this might be due to my ordering a cocktail while other had drinks that could be more easily accommodated. I had to remind the waitress when she returned to the table AFTER THE ENTREES HAD ARRIVED. Prior to that I had already begun looking for her to pass by the table after I realized it was not a slight delay. Also, my wife did not finish her dish and requested a to-go box. My wife then left the box on the table. We walked outside the door and took 3 pictures of our group, then my wife remembered and walked back inside to the table. The to-go box had already been thrown in the garbage. The OUTSTANDING manager on duty had the dish prepared anew and personally delivered it to my wife! Bravo....that exceptional moment of exemplary customer service by the duty manager improved drink situation and gets our repeat business!!!
beautiful atmosphere..food and service was great..cant wait to come back to try new items..definitely worth it
Great beer choices and all of our entries were delicious.
Very nice and excellent service.
Wanted a quick bite to eat before a show. The evening started with a short poor on my drink. When I asked about it i was told it wasn't. i know a short poor when i see it. Sat us near the bar - way to noisy to hold a conversation. Our order was taken. My husband's drink (basically a shot) was brought out well after my drink and after we received our appetizer. Calamari, very tasty! I ordered the Poke Bowl and my husband ordered the Fish and Chips. My bowl was so spicy I was unable to eat it. No where, on the menu does it indicate that this dish would be spicy so it was surprising. Even my husband couldn't eat it. His fish and chips were over cooked but at least I was able to share that with him. The waitress came to our table and tried to take my husband's plate before he was finished eating and took my bowl, without asking, and didn't offer to box it up. (I wasn't going to take it home but she could have asked). Offered a dessert menu but the seasonal dessert was on a menu that we weren't offered when we came in the door and actually had a couple of things I might have preferred. The bread pudding was excellent (seasonal) and the coffee pretty good as well. Not the best experience for the price. I didn't complain as I know that there wasn't much they could do at that point and I know that I won't be back. YMMV.
Great food! A little pricey but about what I would expect. Service was a little off, but it looked like our server was overloaded. He was very personable, just not great at some basics (no plates with appetizer, forgot to bring soy sauce we asked for, didn't refill water bottle, no spoons to stir our coffee). But overall, it was a good experience and we'll be back.
Appetizer portions too small. Too much salt in everything. Just O.K. food. Not a dining destination.
Service was slow. Food was pretty good. Value was moderate.
Travis was a great waiter. Service was awesome and prompt. Definitely coming again
Had a great time! Very eclectic menu, but that made it a lot of fun! I was worried that things wouldn’t be great because they’re trying to do too much, but everything was perfect. I would definitely come back.
Great food, beer & wine and fun place to people watch
Seated quickly and server came over right away to take our drink order. The whiskey sour and blood orange martini were very good.
We asked the server if we could get our orders quickly since we had tickets to show at Toyota Center next door.
We got our 2 meals in less than 10 min!
We had the Korean pork BBQ and Szechuan orange chicken dishes. Both were amazing!!
This was our 2nd visit and we will be back!
The food had a great flavor and quantity was pretty good as well. The drinks were excellent!
Wonderful establishment...Really good food! The waitress I had needed to improve a little. Other than that wonderful experience. I will return
The service was extremely slow and it seemed the kitchen was in the weeds all night. We waited 20 mins for a beer and 45 for food. But the food was excellent.
Out of several items on menu. Super slow service. I get they were busy, but they were not prepared.
Food was excellent! Service was great! Extremely noisy. So not the right place for a private conversation unless you want to tables next to you to hear!
Ask for Claudia. She is awesome. Thanks Claudia!!!!
Brunch was disappointing - nothing special about avocado toast (cold and bland), chilaquilies bad as well
Met up with 2 other couples who we hadn’t seen for awhile so it was rounds of drinks and it took us a longer than average to order food. Emily took it all in stride and we never felt like we were waiting on her to get her attention. The food was very good - the menu is varied with good options to share and then entree options. Since we had several appetizers first and everyone was almost 50 or older, each couple shared an entree. The food runner brought out the plates, divided up as we had asked! If you’ve ever shared an entree, you know this isn’t always the case. Overall we had a great time the whole 3+ hours we were there. Absolutely will go back!
Loved our waitress. Quick service and good food.
Overall the meal was enjoyable however my wife returned the avocado toast because the restaurant was stingy with avocado. The avocado was spread thin like mayonnaise. You could see the bread through the avocado spread. She will never order it again. Thanks.
Great service and food!
Good food and fun atmosphere. Met some friends for dinner and drinks and was the perfect spot. Service was a tad slow, but all good otherwise.
Anniversary and it was amazing!
