ThirstyBear is a great eating place especially for the visitors. My two guests were very impressed with beer tasting menu and very tasty food. They definitely will revisit SF and ThirstyBear again.
Went here on the way to the Museum of Modern Art. In a way, wish we hadn't. It was ok, and that's about it. The food was average tapas, fairly tasty, nothing better than I've had in hundreds of so-called tapas joints. The beer was good, but it should be at a place called Thirsty Bear. The service was quite slow - they were friendly enough and did an ok job, but they seemed tired and lacked anything close to enthusiasm. All in all, the experience was...blah
Steak salad was very good. Our service person and her bac up were outstanding!
Very disappointed with food and overall service. The fish and chips were down right awful with thick greasy batter and smelly fish. The lettuce in the salads was limp and slimy black. The chicken sandwich had really strong liquid smoke flavor which I personally cannot stand. All of the sauces we were served had that liquid smoke flavor and the potatoes were overwhelming garlicky.
The wait staff check on us before we even took a bite and left so quickly there was no time to even taste anything. They never came back except to clear the table. On a good note the sangria was great but$36 for a pitcher was not a bargain.
Noisy, not an inviting atmosphere, food and service just okay. Gambas too salty, hamburgers and autumn salad good. Zarzuelas good.
Great combination of tapas, Spanish meals, and some tasty original crafted brews. A bit pricey given the casual atmosphere & the portions but a good Spanish meal. Make a reservation and ask to be seated up front, away from the (potentially noisy) bar area.
Group of 12 that grew to 14. They accommodated with an additional table. Appreciate the flexibility.
Excellent cuisine and outstanding service! Kudos! I highly recommend dining at the Thirsty Bear. It is an excellent experience. Not only the food but it own brewed beers and lagers are outstanding.
Delicious tapas, warm and friendly ambiance and ample drink selections.
I love to bring friends from near and far to the Sunday eve flamenco shows.
The guitar playing and singing is soulful, and the dancing explodes with fierce beauty.
The sangria is delicious and the calamari was the best we’ve ever had. We also ordered a flight and were very happy with the options. Yum!
