Average food. Took incredibly long considering it was 1/2 full before a Bucks game. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either.
Great location if you’re going to Fiserv Forum. The nachos and Greek freak tacos are awesome.
The service was ok. Not very busy in there and the waitress didn’t check on us until our food was over 1/2 gone. Then it took awhile for her to come get the payment. My burrito was ok as it was just barely warm inside. I didn’t care for the corn salsa inside of it but that is more on me vs the restaurant. My daughters quesadilla was good but then again it’s pretty hard to screw that up! I’ve definitely had much better Mexican food!
Reservation worked great given we were there before a Fiserv concert! Tacos amazing, plantains amazing. Margaritas delish!! Server well versed on menu and switching topping around to be gluten free. We will be back for sure!
Food was delicious. Ambiance was lacking as the restaurant was mostly empty (on a Wednesday night).
Average food and service. Close to downtown venues
Server was super helpful. She helped me work around my special diet needs and I ended up having an excellent meal. I will definitely be back!
Server was friendly. Food was just ok. We had a smothered burrito. Didn’t have all the ingredients in the burrito listed on the menu. Wasn’t impressed.
This was an awful experience. Service was slow even though the restaurant was mostly empty. They were out of many menu items (including guacamole!) and had to remake our margaritas three times. I honestly can't remember a time I've been so disappointed with a meal.
When we (8 people - 4 couples) walked in, the hostess walked away and left us standing there for 3-4 mins. Came back and just stared at us rather than greet us. Got to our table. Waitress was nice, until two members of our party switched end seats. She became irritated and re-took our entire drink order. A Margarita Crawl had come through earlier that day, but by this time it was fairly empty and no reason for either to have an attitude towards customers.
Everyone ordered tacos. I went with the authentic-style 'street' tacos (steak, onion & cilnatro). The moment they were placed in front of me, I knew I made a mistake. First, the tortillas were undercooked. Barely warmed and I was afraid to fold them for fear that they'd just tear in half. There wasn't much steak on the tacos and the ratio of steak to onion was roughly 1:1. After taking half of the onions off, there was barely anything left on the tortillas. Since the tortillas were doubled up, I could barely taste any steak. After consuming my onion and tortilla tacos, I set my sights on the rice. Again, undercooked and sadly, very bland. Since I was hungry, I ate all of it in hopes that it would eventually earn the 4-star review rating it has across various sites (Trip Advisor, Google, Open Table), but that was not the case.
The one positive was the margaritas. While not the best, they were much better than the food. I went in with high hopes and left hungry and disappointed. The portions were small and the food wasn't worth the money (~$4/taco).
corn tortillas were hard and tough to bite. Frozen Margarita wasn't froze. Server was nowhere to be found.
This is the second time I've been to Cantina. The service is always great. The last time I was there my waitress had two very large parties, and, while service was slow, she was so apologetic, and I could tell she was doing her best to take care of us. That being said, both times the food and drinks were 'meh' and inconsistent (I got two of the same drinks and the second was completely different than the first). You can find better tacos at just about anywhere else.
We came here to eat before the Shawn Mendes concert and were very happy we did! When we arrived, it wasn't crowded, the food tasted great, and it was a short little walk to Fiserv. We'd come back here again.
We were so happy with our experience at Cantina Milwaukee! I wish I could remember our server’s name, as she was an absolute joy. We had a group of 8 celebrating a birthday, and she was so fun, sweet, and just overall have outstanding service. Food was great too!
Food was good but service was slow. Margaritas were great!
Celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect! Friendly and attentive staff. Knew when to leave us be and when to come by the table. Prices were very reasonable and quality of food was amazing. Wish we lived closer! Only downfall was paying for parking, but we also did a boat tour. Nice short distance from parking to restaurant to dock.
Food was good and the margaritas were tasty chips and guacamole was good and Queso was tasty
Food was okay , but service was great. Seems like they have a good happy hour too. Margarita and Paloma were good.
The greeter was pretty good she seated us immediately. The server was very friendly enough but she was swamped and couldn't keep up with the crowd. We arrived at the restaurant at noon but we didn't receive our entree until almost 1:00 pm. We had the Guacamole and Caso appetizers, Smothered Burritos. They were both lacking any type of seasonings.
It was Downtown Dining Week. That is always a great time to try out new restaurants. Milwaukee Cantina was great. I’m sure we will be back. Fun venue, great vibe, and superb food.
Our 2nd day of Downtown Dining!
Appetizers-buffalo wings; chips & Guacamole, both were pretty standard
Entrees: Queso Smothered Burrito (Steak) and 3 taco, 2 chicken, 1 steak.
Pretty good overall. Food and service were great. Don't know if it'll make me come here instead of our standby. But if I'm in the area and have a taste for Mexican food this will be my first choice! Down side: no place to park. Well that won't cost you. And I can only imagine if/when there's a game/concert going on at the Fiserve Center.
Our mains came out before our appetizers. The food wasn’t great, and the ambiance/flow of the restaurant was kind of strange. C+ at best.
Our waitress was nice though!
I've dined at Cantina several times before and always had a good experience. We went on a Thursday night for $2 tacos, but downtown dining was going on so the special was happening. We ordered a chicken quesadilla to share - that was amazing. We also ordered 2 tacos each. I got the Greek Freak & Tikka Chicken. The rice on the tikka taco was hard so and there was not much sauce on it. Normally this is my favorite one to order but they must have had an off day. The Greek taco was good. Also, we had happy hour margaritas which were only $5 for a large glass. Very good value.
The appetizers were delicious. Cheese curds and guacamole...yummy! The burrito wasn't anything special and i think Qdoba or Chipotle are actually more flavorful. The house margeritas are good. Service is a little slow so be sure you have enough time.
The appetizer was wonderful girl was surprised we liked others tables said too spicy. Chocolate cake was aweful. Rice was blah. Can’t compete with other Mexican restaurants in the area for price or taste.
Great drink specials. We loved the variety of tacos offered too.
Average all the way around.
The food was just ok. Nothing special. The margaritas were fine. The bathrooms in that building are horrible. They are so messy!
The food & service was excellent. Was the perfect place to go have tacos & drinks before the game (the strawberry lemonade margarita is delicious). They also arranged for the Miller Park shuttle to pick up my group right outside the front door. That was great!
The service at Cantina Tequila & Taco Bar was FANTASTIC and the pitchers of margaritas and tacos were SUPER YUMMY!!!!
Booked a reservation via Open Table so that was good. Our waitress was super bubly and friendly, best part of the experience. The hightop table we were seated at was in an area that obstructed all the TV's. Food is just OK, par for a sports bar. I wouldn't go here if I were looking for authentic Mexican.
Relieved that the food and service was MUCH better than what I read in some reviews! Queso is delicious as was my California Chicken taco and Garlic Shrimp Taco - Amazing flavor! Good margaritas, reasonable prices for the area. Glad we had reservations. Service was excellent! Would definitely go back
We had reservations before a concert. The service was excellent, the food tasted so good. And the price is reasonable. Will definitely be back!
Cantina is a good place to go before a game or concert at the Fiserv Forum. The tacos are delicious! I've been there twice now and enjoyed it both times.
Went before the Bucks game. Food is tasty with unique flavors. Plantain was the best I’ve ever had.
We got there and there was plenty of tables left, we were able to pick one by the window. It happens to be a four person high-top. Everything seriously was nice but the table was tiny. We wound up moving menu holders, condiment holders, some of our plates ...on to the window sill. The four person high tops seemed better suited for maybe just having drinks at them. Not eating.
This was minor though, the service was excellent and food delicious! We had a good time with our friends before we headed to a show.
We ended up having a larger party than expected and they got us a bigger table without issue! We were celebrating my dad’s birthday and we got a bday treat courtesy of the server. It was very sweet! All the food and drinks were delicious
We made reservations here to eat before concert and we really liked it here on a previous outing to a concert. When we were presented a menu, I asked the waitress what happened to all the selections like the last time we were here. She stated that the management changed it and were only serving these items on a condensed menu for events at the Fiserv Forum. We were disappointed that we couldn't order from the full menu. Seems they want to make more money by having a quicker turn around.
We had a table of 5. Was not impressed with the service of the value of the food for the price.
Dined prior to concert at the fiserv forum the other night. Had great service, excellent food. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a meal downtown.
