From when we arrive everyone was so kind and amazing. The Atmosphere was great and ambience was perfect!
It was our 1st time to the restaurant and when we are back in town we will make sure to visit again.
Parking was convenient and free if less than 4 hours. Menu was very interesting and very well prepared. I had the scallops over mushroom grits and they were excellent.
Third Coast consistently excels in service, atmosphere, convenience, and value. The staff goes the extra mile, and the food is superb.
Arturo, our waitperson, was professional and listened to our concerns
Third Coast is a little difficult to find, hidden in a building in the Medical Center, but well worth the effort to get there. The food is fantastic, the service was outstanding and it's quiet. Not too quiet, but lovely for conversation with your dinner companions. Ask to be seated at a table with the wing back chairs and you'll never want to leave. Ask for Candelario, best waiter ever!
What a lovely restaurant, the parking was not a problem at all. The waiter we had was knowledgeable friendly service overall was great. The food was wonderful the view is great and overall wonderful experience!
Initially it seemed a bit out of the way for a lunch. Once I placed the reservation, it was pretty simple and the service was prompt and amazing. The food was certainly to brag about. Compliments to the chef staff on 4 different plates and 2 desserts. I would recommend this fine restaurant to anyone who has an appetite for good food and good scenery.
This was my first time coming to Third Coast, and I came with my boss and a coworker to celebrate our birthdays. We made our reservation on OpenTable about 30 minutes before arriving, and were seated right away. The ambiance of the restaurant was so nice, light, and open, and they had several good vegetarian options. Third Coast is a nice restaurant for special occasions (or, if you make more money than I do), but a little expensive - I had the miso tofu salad bowl, and it was delicious, but cost $16 when it could have easily cost half that at a less fancy restaurant. The expense aside, I enjoyed my experience at Third Coast and will return in the future.
Excellent food & service. We hope to go there again when we visit Houston
I requested a table next to windows so that guests can enjoy the view. I reserved on Monday for Wednesday lunch. But, our table was far from the window.
Pasta sauce was too salty. However, chicken was tender and great.
I did not know that you have a balcony. It was nice to take a picture of all of us.
I love to work with Mary. She is awesome! Very efficient.
A quiet place to a fine dinner and conversation with friends on a Saturday night.
Our waiter was candeluiro - he was very attentive and super knowledgeable.
The grouper, reddish and salmon were all fresh and delectable. Special call out for the calamari and Brussel sprouts.
Thanks for making our mother in laws 80 th bday so special / she liked the piano and the ability to converse.
First rate, top notch
We were concerned about a restaurant in a medical building and were surprised to find a nice dinning spot. The inside is very nice with muted colors, soft seating and table cloths. Our server was excellent and the manager stopped by to say hello. The menu is small but interesting. We started with martinis and fried green tomatoes. They were excellent! I had smoked oysters with a side of mashed potatoes. The oysters had to much Anise on them and the potatoes were ice cold. My husband had steak tartare with a side of fries. The tartare was ground very fine and the fries were just fries. I wouldn't mind trying them once more and having a fresh fish dish. I'd say give it a try and would encourage the restaurant to focus more on simple flavors.
Outstanding service, delicious food, beautiful plating, and wonderful atmosphere
The tortilla soup was excellent with a great presentation, but the bowl of their soup spoons are so deep that it was actually awkward to eat my soup.
After you figure out the access this place is pretty nice. I am thinking that if we lived closer we might frequent the restaurant as the food was on a par with other Houston area chef driven casual/fine dining establishments and the ease of the reservation was a plus. I expect lunch is their draw for larger crowds. We were told that private functions are also a big part of their revenue stream and in fact the night we were there they hosted 200 people from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The self parking garage access was easy in and out (and truly complimentary with validation from the restaurant) but you need to pay careful attention as directional signage is minimal. Small plates were a hit with my party of three enjoying five of them and one entree as well as killer desert. I liked the place and the food--just seemed to be an odd location for such a venue. Wine list is not what I prefer as there were no old world wines but certainly a nice quality selection of domestics---I guess the server's rationale was acceptable: "this is an American restaurant so we wanted to do American wines". You can be the judge of that explanation.
Great ambiance and delicious food. The red snapper was outstanding and excellent wait staff
Recently remodeled this is an excellent restaurant in the heat of the medical center. Excellent food. Unobtrusive service in a sleekly designed room. Fine dining near the med center is hard to find. This is probably the best.
Great. Excellent venue where there are little options for this class of dining.
Food was great and choices were excellent
I should have figured a restaurant in the middle of the Medical Center in a high rise would be EMPTY on a Saturday night. Food and service were very good but it was depressing to be the only ones there. A group of 3 came in a bit later. Also, we had trouble getting a Lyft to pick us up since it was hard to find...he used the "My car broke down" excuse not to pick us up. A second drive finally came.
The Third Coast is a four leaf clover! Jon Buchanan is an amazing chef. The presentation and flavor in our dishes was delicious and exquisite . I would highly recommend this restaurants for a truly culinary experience.
Food was excellent!
My wife and I went for Valentines day. Philip, the GM, was attentive and gracious. The service was top notch.
Service is very slow. I went for happy hour and nobody cared about me for 20 min, then I dared asking for the menu and it took another 30 min until I got my drink. Don’t go there if you are in a hurry!
This is the best real restaurant in the medical center area that I have found in my two recent trips to Houston for MD Anderson activities. Lots of fast food around but this was the only place in walking distance I found in my two visits.
Hosted a business dinner. Food was excellent. Service was good. Resturant was quite and ideal for conversation. Good view of the Texas Medical Center.
Lovely restaurant. An oasis in the crowded, busy Texas Medical Center. You can’t see it from street. It is on 6th floor with nice views. We had dinner there and liked it so much that we went there for a late breakfast after appointments. Next to MDAnderson and very easy walk from other facilities and hotels. Highly recommend.
First time. James and the crew took good care of us, it was a quiet evening though, and we liked being able to carry on a conversation. Our group each ordered fish entrees and all were very good. We'll be back.
I had the Cobb salad at lunch with chicken. The chicken was fatty and the salad had very little flavor. I was surprised at the poor quality considering the ambiance and location would indicate it is a high-end restaurant. The price was high for the quality and the portions are small.
Worth the drive. Very quiet and relaxing. Definitely will go back.
My husband and I loved dining at a Third Coast. The setting is beautiful, our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and wine. The service was perfect. Everything we had was delicious and well-presented. We'll be back.
Took my parents to Third Coast when Dad was in for tests. All of our food was great. Crab appetizer and tortilla soup were wonderful as were hamburgers, salmon special and roasted chicken. Would definitely go back. Oh yeah. Service was excellent and great view.
Needed a nice spot for a business meeting and meal. The atmosphere was good and the staff very accomodating. I would go back for meetings again.
We had a fabulous meal and the service was incredible! James Maker was a great addition to our meal!! His story was so inspiring!!
I had the special of pan seared salmon with butternut squash risotto and broccolini, and it was absolutely delicious. It is not very budget-friendly but is well worth the splurge on occasion.
Food was sub par . Not up to snuff . Eaten at better places which were cheaper that Third Cost . Sorry to say ... don’t wast your time and money here . Maybe just good for coffee only sadly .
Great restaurant. A hidden gem in the Texas Medical Center
