Best fine dining seafood restaurant in Milwaukee hands down!
Fantastic food per usual, except maybe the rice cakes were a little too hard... not crunchy, hard. Absolutely great service and sommelierpersonship. One of our favorite restaurants. Could use a little ambiance updating, though.
The restaurant’s interior is stunning while very cozy and welcoming. The cocktails are clever takes on the traditional. We ordered the grilled oysters with a fabulous harissa butter sauce. We also had the lobster potholes, and they were equally delicious.
We finished with grilled scallops served over a bed of butternut squash with risotto-perfect! For dessert, we had the 30 year old port with Creme Brûlée. Our server, Jake, was attentive, friendly, and simply amazing. We are definitely going back. This place is a hidden gem.
As of March 2020, I think Third Coast Provisions is the best seafood restaurant in Milwaukee. It is expensive for this city, but the dependably perfect oysters, plus some interesting and excellent small plates - "Lobster Potholes" included, keep me coming back for more. The entrees range from very classic to very modern, and 3rd Coast has a wonderful bar program - a long list of wine and draft beer, or modern cocktails. High quality and good variety makes this place equally great for date night, or for taking your parents out for dinner. 5/5 from me.
First time there, celebrating my daughter’s 20th birthday. Food was wonderful, service top notch and setting absolutely lovely! I highly recommend.
Scallops perfectly prepared, Beef tartar was the best I’ve had. Experience bartender made a very satisfying Manhattan. Professional and knowledgeable service staff. Overall a great experience and would recommend to others.
Everything was phenomenal, from the drinks to the oysters, small plate, entree, and dessert, phenomenal. I loved the decor and the ambiance. We arrived early for our reservation on a Friday night and were still seated right away. The service was great as well, fast, polite, knowledgeable. They gave me a free dessert because it was my birthday, even though we didn't ask for anything. And it was a very thoughtful touch that the owner came over and spoke with us for a few minutes and made sure we were pleased with everything. Would highly recommend.
We had the pleasure of dining at Third Coast Provisions for the first time this past week. We could not have asked for a better experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. The server (Joe) and the Chef accommodated multiple food allergies with grace and we were most appreciative.
All good!! Exceptional food and service.
couldn’t have been a better date night. Service was very good and food was spot on. Valet is a plus.
Good, not great. Will explore other options in the area before going back or recommending to others. Of the 4 of us, 1 had quite a few bones in the fish, some that were rather large. Another person's dish was very fishy/not fresh.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day treat! Great ambiance and good service!
Wish the Prix Fixe meal would have been more varied - I.e. 2 different fish to try....
We picked this restaurant for Valentine’s Day because we’ve been here before and enjoyed it. When I made the reservation, there was a message about needing to provide a credit card and that if we canceled, our card would be charged. When we first walked into the restaurant my husband and I looked at each other with wide eyes because there was an overwhelming terribly strong smell of fish. Yuk. Should have been our first sign to turn around. When we were first seated, we were underneath a freezing cold vent on the top floor so we asked to move to a different table. We were then given the menus and told it was a fixed menu. This was disappointing as we did not know that the normal menu would not be in place when making the reservation and checking the items on the menu that we’d like to order was part of our decision for our reservation. This should have been our second sign to leave. It only got worse from there as we felt the food was quite sub-par and not even close to our other two experiences as this restaurant. My husband and I barely ate because each course with the exception of a third course they consisted of a singular scallop was terrible. :( There were other minor mistakes with our order and while the sever was apologetic and it wasn’t her fault, the experience overall not enjoyable. I am usually not one to complain but this was really one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in years and we go out quite a bit.
The restaurant is beautifully designed and laid out uniquely. The food was excellent, each of the dishes we ordered was delightful.
Glad we went, but we won’t be returning due to sticker shock. This was largely due to the prices on the prefixed menu on Valentine’s Day. I think for a more casual day you may be able to get out of there for less money.
It was great, however I reserved a table through Yelp so I didn’t know there was a Valentines Day menu. I can’t have dairy, however they accommodated me. I was looking forward to there regular menu.
Overall, I think it was a great experience. I was caught off guard by the menu.
The service was great, food was fantastic and the decor was bright and inviting. We really enjoyed the experience.
Food was wonderful and experienced wham server made the evening memorable
It’s so easy to overeat here, the food is awesome. The lobster rolls are sooooo good. The lobster Mac and cheese and corn bread are also great starters. The clam chowder is good but filling. I had the whole fish special which was pretty good, prepared well. Now, the lobster pot pie is the best. It’s so savory and you just can’t get enough. Tried the chai creme brûlée at the end which was good, but I could have done without. Fun decor and the staff of very attentive.
The waiters are very skilled and knowledgeable with the menu and all the wines and cocktails. If you have questions they will be able to answer right away.
Wonderful food and service. A couple suggestions would be to offer more affordable wine bottle options. Additionally, we got the lobster pot pie but for the price point, didn't feel like we got enough lobster. Otherwise a great place.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The preparations were stunningly unique and superbly prepared - unlike anything else in Milwaukee. The decor and ambiance was bright, soothing and very warm. The service was attentive, prompt and very friendly. Kara was our server and she was professional and engaging. It was our first time here but we absolutely fell in love. We can’t wait to come back and work our way through the menu.
Great will be back!!
We had a farewell dinner here for our daughter who is moving from the area. There were a couple of highlights. There was a crab cake special that was absolutely the best we've had locally. Plenty of crab and precious little filler. The oyster dish was also very good. My daughter and my wife liked the crispy tuna and the shrimp small plate, but I wasn't impressed. I thought the blandness of the crispy rice overwhelmed the flavor of the tuna. We all agreed that the lobster potholes were a disaster. The sauce was heavy and completed dominated the lobster, robbing it of its sweet flavor.
Food was phenomenal! Atmosphere is a little lacking. We were in a high traffic area for servers and other guests, so my mother’s chair got bumped a bunch of times. Our server came by 4 times to introduce himself, but never took a drink order until his 5th visit. Not sure what the first four visits were intended to do.
excellent food and service!
Quiet snowy night but perfect environment to enjoy an excellent date night. Staff was unassuming but very knowledgable. We will definitely be back!
I found the food and the service very good. Although I thought the price was a little in excess.
Very expensive for the appetizers we had. Still it was very good.
We had an outstanding meal! Our waiter was very helpful in guiding us and clarifying the options on the menu. To start us off there was a lovely selection of oysters - we ordered a selection of east coast oysters - YUM! It was hard to choose the another appetizer because they all sounded so delicious. But we agreed on the Hashbrown Royale. We did not make a mistake. After eating it we were suggesting it to neighboring tables! The lobster pot pie was the table favorite. And while one person had it as their entree, everyone was able to dip in and have a couple of generous bites. The atmosphere was sophisticated, relaxed and quiet. We will return.
Premium prices on everything. Good, but not amazing food doesn’t justify the prices. Desserts disappoint. Excellent service.
We had an excellent server. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. Each recommendation was outstanding. My favorite was the steak tartare but my sea scallops were also delicious. We were able to book a reservation at the last minute on open table which was also really nice!
Everything, food, service and ambiance was outstanding!
Celebrating Christmas together with friends, food was phenomenal!
We ate kind of lite, but everything we had was good. Really enjoyed the chowder and lobster potholes. The crudo just ok and for the price it was small. Everything was a little small and it's all pricey, but we knew that going into it based on other reviews. The service was outstanding and we really enjoyed the meal overall.
Everything we ordered was good, (with the exception of the dessert) as was the service. With that said not sure it was worth the ticket price. If I am going to spend almost $200 on dinner and drinks for 2 people I want it to be memorable, this was not. We will not be returning.
