Restaraunt was closed when I arrived
The manager of shoe store next store told me that it has been at least 2 months
I think open table should be reviewed and gets a failing review
Funny. I really wanted the tuna last night and trucked thru the rain to find I was out of luck:(
Please note that Theo's has been permanently closed for a month. I did not make this reservation.
Theo's is closed for renovations -- t hat is, shut down. We got no notice.
The service is excellent and the food was delicious
Went for the bottomless brunch on Sunday. Location is nice and the decor was really elegant. One draw back was the bottomless brunch is only for 1 hour which wasn't clear from the website.
We had dinner at Theo's and enjoyed the entire experience. Prompt service and very good food. This was our first visit and we were impressed with the variety of fresh fish offerings. We appreciated the reasonably priced wine list. We live in the neighborhood and thrilled to have a great seafood restaurant nearby. The décor is modern and somewhat formal but the attitude of the wait staff is casual and fun. It is a comfortable place to be with friends and family. We didn't feel rushed at all. We'll be back again.
Good menu, healthy options, nice size portions, good service, perfect noise level, friendly welcome... so glad it is in the neighborhood.
A friend recommended Theo's for our group of five ladies celebrating two birthdays. The manager was very accommodating to us and allowed us to move tables to be away from the door. The seafood was outstanding as was the burger! I was a little disappointed in the cheesecake but since it was on the house, who can complain? While fairly noisy, the ambience was festive and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it!
Great location, wide choice of entries, up scale clientele and atmosphere.
When first arriving at Theo's my parents and I were a little upset to dine somewhere that was Trump affiliated (we are not from the NYC area and were looking for a oyster bar close enough to the NYC ballet). With that being said, the overall experience was pleasant. We were some of the only people in the restaurant, which made it a great setting for dining and catching up with family. It was quiet and tranquil. My dad even pointed out that he found it funny that there was a flat screen tv but the tv was nicely tucked away in a corner so it was not disturbing to the rest of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and even charged my cell phone for me and they were very cautious when I noted that I was gluten free and helped me choose something that would work for me.
We love Theo's! Great food. A+ service. We always look forward to going again.
Get the Salmon tartar. It was amazing! As was the lobster bisque. I had the seared tuna, my son had the salmon and my husband the sea bass-- all delicious. We will be going back!
Had a great lunch for an amazing value. Run over for a great deal- delicious food😃
Bad oysters = bad start to the meal. Not a good sign for an oyster bar. Waiter apologized in a procedural way; manager could care less. Did take charge off of 2 of 12 oysters - wow, thank you. Said obliviously at the end: "Thanks, come again." Never.
First time visit, we will return
We both ordered the salmon, I felt it was as tasty as it could have been. Nice portion, Brussel sprouts were a unexpected hit
Surprising for a new-ish restaurant so promoted and whose fish is so fresh, that the obligatory Greek dessert was not even ordinary, one bathroom was out of service, the front door was not working well [the hostess pushed it open for us] - details like that are telling.
People should know about this place.
Loved Theo . Went for brunch / lunch looking forward to trying it for dinner .
This is a great date spot for a Friday night with a live musician, nice bar and open kitchen. My salmon was a little under-cooked but besides that, A++.
Awesome, unique seafood. The manager paid special attention to us and explained the crazy fish we were eating (and how to eat it). Great experience. Give it a try!
We went for a family Sunday brunch in the neighborhood. The room is beautiful, the food creative, and the service was warm & solicitious. Definitely plan to try Theo's for dinner soon!
Busy for dinner, quiet for lunch. When the lunch crowd figures out how great the warm lobster rolls, popovers, crab linguine, french fries and lobster-citrus salad are -- quiet leisurely lunches may no longer be possible. Dinnertime attracts a vibrant crowd. Service always attentive, welcome always warm.
Great food, service and decor
Excellent service, good ambiance, very good brioche bread
Food is excellent
Amazing experience at the Chef's table! The food was beyond words delicious! A wonderful dining experience!
Luncheon for 18 people. Everything was excellent.
We loved Theo's and it was our first time. The staff was totally accommodating and truly happy that we were having a good time. The whole fish was excellent, well prepared and fresh. The french fires as good as the best French restaurant. My wife was thrilled with the salmon tartar appetizer as well. We were served a fabulous chocolate chip cookie with our coffee. It was just like my wife's grandmother used to make. We told the manager a cookie plate would be an excellent addition to the menu. He said he would be happy to give us more. Rather than just give us an extra we were presented with a take out container with several cookies. This is the type of restaurant Theo's is and a restaurant that we will be regular customers of.
The food and atmosphere were great but the best part of the meal was the service. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Fresh seafood was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
awesome service, great food; overall an excellent experience
The fish entrees did not seem to be fresh and the preparation seemed to be an attempt to disguise the fact that the fish was not fresh.
We loved our lobster salad and branzino.
The grilled shrimp is delicious and tasty
The calamari is terrific
We had fresh fruit for dessert
So healthy and summery
Its our 5th time!
The chef and maitre de always make a fuss over us because its our new favorite neighborhood restaurant
They even brought us after dinner drinks!
Good food and I fine asset to a neighborhood in need of more "adult" restaurants
The food took sooooooo long!
Had to call for some bread in mean time.
Salted fish was dry.
We had a wonderful experience. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful. We asked to modify a dish, which we could not, and the chef himself came around from the kitchen to explain why it could not be modified. The Blue Crab linguini was outstanding with a lot of crab meat and the yellow fin tuna, seared rare, was perfect. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return.
This restaurant was so noisy that after one glass of wine we left we did not taste any food
Atmosphere airy and open, everyone friendly and helpful. I eat slower than most people. I didn't realize it but had ordered an entrée that was timed. The chef personally came to the table to apologize because it came out before I had finished my appetizer. I took some of the entrée home- he came out a second time to discuss how to use the extra sauce he was giving me!
The octopus appetizer was fabulous in taste and looks. I am not one to take pictures of my food and post it on facebook, but this was tempting (pun intended). My friend asked that I hold off eating it for a few minutes just so we could stare at it.
She lives near this restaurant, had been wanting to check it out. Now she is looking forward to going back soon.
I was looking forward to a much-needed good seafood restaurant in the neighborhood. Sorry to say that Theo’s is not it. Our biggest complaint was the service. Our waiter was plain awful We were a party of five and appetizers were not brought together. Someone inquired about my fried calamari (the last to arrive) and the manager came. He said they had to do them again as “they were not up to their standard.” Wonder what their standard is because they were awful. Thick batter falling off in chunks. NOT recommended. I found the menu quite limited with a lot of fish with “price per pound.” You know what that means. Ka-khing. The other’s dinners were sort-of-happy with their meals but no raves. Lamb chops were good.
At the end, the manager brought us a complimentary dessert, but that did not sweeten the evening. What Theo’s sorely needs is good server training.
A return visit with quality sustained! Theo's is being discov ered -- the house was full of happy eaters at dinner.
Salmon and Brussels sprouts with glass of Chardonnay was lovely. Service is amazing. Atmosphere is local and subtle. Food quality is one of the bests in the borough !
