Themed Afternoon Tea - Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Always come here for high tea, food is always great and the servers are always kind and welcoming. I like how you get a good amount of savory sandwiches because I’m always too full to finish the desserts and bring it home.
The service was great, the food abundant and delicious, we couldn't finish it all. We had a lovely Tea Time.
This was a surprise birthday treat for my daughter . All went well . Slight wait for our table to be ready but nothing to complain about . Liked that we and the other guests that there for the Tea were in a separate room from other diners . The service was really good and the servers were very attentive . It was a nice touch that her birthday was acknowledged . I've had Afternoon Teas many times before but wasn't expecting the finger food and desserts to be so filling ! There was no problem in taking the uneaten pastry treats home to enjoy later ! The food , tea , Champagne were all excellent . For special occasions I recommend it !
The sandwich selection was pretty terrible.
The only good sandwich was the chicken curry.
For $71 it was over priced and not good at all. It was very disappointing. I’ve been there before and the sandwiches were how they should be. A cucumber was not mixed with all tomatoes. The beef sandwich was like a pate. It’s too bad, I was planning on more visits, but the taste of the sandwiches were terrible.
This is an incredible place.
This was a perfect way to celebrate my moms birthday! I took my parents here, and we were amazed by the great servers, food and ambiance!
There was more than enough choice, so much so, we had to get a box to bring the sweet cakes /pastries!!
A perfect way to celebrate a wonderful afternoon
This event made my my wife’s 60th birthday very very special....it was everything and more, we will never forget it.
Thank you very much
Meh, not worth the cost. The lights kept dimming which was weird. The food was nothing to write home about and really could have been got from Whole Foods. Sandwiches appeared to be made with Wonder bread. Just not up to snuff for the hotel and cost.
Great service, good food, nice place to go for a special occasion or just for a treat
Lovely tea. Lots of food — the tiered tray which is typical plus a treasure chest of desserts plus a special birthday dessert and an initial offering before the service. It was worth every penny. We took all our desserts home.
Very enjoyable but the room was a little cool and dark. Food was great and server excellent.
Highly recommend. Wonderful idea for the 80th birthday.
Was lots of fun! Service was great
Honestly the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The food and tea were amazing and I need to comment on the exceptional service and attentiveness of our host Serge and his team, thank you.
The ambience was lovely and so were the savoury items. However, the desserts seemed stale and dry and not nearly as delicious as you would expect, especially for the cost. Not worth the $. Great service though.
The ambience is what you're getting here. Seems like the quality of the food could been improved all things considered.
everything is just great ! food, service, environment, and the price is very fair! we really enjoyed it ♥️
Just in town for the 80th anniversary of Fairmont and the afternoon has this 80th theme as well.
Afternoon tea at Hotel Vancouver was wonderful. The portions are very generous so be prepared to take some goodies home. Our server was very professional and helpful. Highly recommend.
It's a very good experience, but too expensive to make it a regular habit. There are other, less expensive afternoon tea options in Vancouver that I think have a more sensible value proposition. That said, as an occasional extravagance, it's quite nice!
Services were good except the maître d, or say receptionist.
Very professional and the food was lovely. I don't know how anyone could eat all the deserts at the end, there was so many! I'm glad we could take them home and enjoy them later.
We went for the first seating of the new 80th Anniversary afternoon tea set and were amazing
As always, the Fairmont never ceases to please! The food was even better for the 80th Anniversary! Its only a little hard to give the value full-stars when the afternoon tea person is $59 BUT there is a lot of variety
The food was surprisingly terrible! Which was a huge disappointment as we thoroughly enjoyed every other part of the entire experience.
Sandwiches were dry like they were sitting out for a while, lobster & shrimp sandwich tasted like it was on the verge of going bad. Cucumber sandwich was delicious, though!
A lot of the desserts were nothing special - the creme brulee macaroon was amazing! The little cups were amazing as well. Other than that, the checkered cake with fondant and a chocolate gold handle was sub-par (nothing special) as well as the rest of the desserts.
Golden Sultana Scone was delicious, but the Classic English Scone was dry.
Presentation, ambience, location, etc. was absolutely wonderful! The food was overall not worth it. I might give it another try when they change their menu, but wouldn't come back for this exact menu.
When in Vancouver... afternoon tea!!
Beautiful room, attentive staff, beautiful food... wonderful way to have lunch with family
I’m always looking for a great place to have high tea. I’ve been to other Fairmont Hotels who serve high tea and have never been disappointed.
We were there for the 80th anniversary menu and everything was very tasty. We had to take some of our treats home as we filled up on all fabulous savory sandwiches.
We went for a birthday celebration and the staff made our visit very special.
I will go again.
The food in the 80th Anniversary Themed High Tea seems more traditional than the other themes. I really loved the Royal Albert 3 tier cake stand. I also loved the fresh cut flowers that were placed on my table.
Everything was amazing. It was almost silent in the room, which was so perfect and relaxing. Service was beyond outstanding, as usual. 11/10
Notch 8 is a beautiful restaurant in the Fairmont and it was absolutely lovely. The afternoon tea had its own private section in the restaurant, which made the experience extra cozy. Beautifully decorated, with a quiet ambiance, it's a great place to go for a special occasion.
Great service, lovely finger sandwiches and treats plus a good tea selection we were celebrating a birthday and they did the little extras that made it special.
Wayne and Terri were excellent servers during my afternoon tea experience. I really enjoyed their kindness and quality of service throughout the entire time I was there. The scones and the jam and chocolate as starters was phenomenal. The Brut champagne was also excellent. I decided to go with the Imperial Breakfast tea and my partner went with the Kyushuu Japan Sencha, which complemented the savoury and sweet items. I will definitely come back again for the birthday high tea in the future. Thank you, Wayne and Terri!
The restaurant and service was great but the food was alright
Great food and experience EXCEPT after paying over $60 a person, it's quite disappointing to have to get up and leave after 2 hours. It's just not enough time for ladies to have tea.
Serge was great and the whole experience was so nice.
Came here to celebrate friend's birthday with the Chocolate theme high tea and it was awesome! food was delicious, not overly sweet as mentioned by other diners. A lot of food for the price of the high tea. Also tried their cocktail for two - Cocoa Combustion - and it was an amazing drink.
The picture on the website and what actually happened was not the same. It looks like there seems to be an experiment but there was none, also the bottle was just colored water and it supposed to light up the bottom but the server told me that the batteries were out. If he knew the batteries were out, why doesn't he put the new batteries in? Disappointing. Service was good, and food was good too. I thought it was very creative theme.
Good decor and ambiance for the tea, although the room was quite isolated from the rest of the restaurant and some natural light would have been ideal. Their theme was "science" and chocolate, although there was nothing to contribute to the science theme. The tea menu is sparse, and the waiter kept adding hot water to the leaves (when he was around, we were ignored a decent amount), which is fine for the first time but tea leaves lose their flavour after one or two resteeps. We also weren't given the option to try another tea. There were way more sweets than savories, and the box provided was visually stunning yet coated in chocolate and placed in a weird angle so it was difficult grabbing food. The price was above $60 and not worth the package. Neverland tea salon is half the price and features endless tea, beautiful decor, and attentive waiters
The food was very good, but could do with more savoury and less sweet. Chocolate was wonderful but too much of it! Never thought I would say that.
