Themed Afternoon Tea - Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Decent high tea, most of the sandwiches were delicious, a couple of them were so-so. The desserts were hit and miss. The trifle, creme brulee, and pecan tart were really nice, and the scones were fantastic. The other desserts were way too sweet and rich and made us a bit sick (the jam filled cookie, eclair, checkerboard cake, etc).
Great tea service. Plenty to eat for all. Great selection of tea and server was good with keeping our tea pots full!
It was amazing. It wasn't real clotted cream, but they made up for it with everything else being perfect.
The tea was lovely & more than enough to eat. The presentation was excellent. The server we had could not have been more helpful as one of our party has food allergies. Would say give it a try.
A real treat not to be missed - we are going back soon! Our server only made our dining experience all the better!
That was a very awesome experience with Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
The provided service to us and guests were really great. I strongly recommend someone who is hesistating to choose afternoon tea in Vancouver. I will say this hotel is the best.
Everything was fine but the sweets we asked to be packaged were missing some items when we got home.
There were 4 of us, and we all really enjoyed the experience. From the little treat they give you when you are seated to the atmosphere. The selection and presentation was lovely. Go hungry as there is more than enough for all. I especially loved the desserts presented in a treasure chest. Our server was great he offered to take pictures of us, and boxed up the treats we were too full to finish.
First time having high tea. Definitely wont be the last. The staff were excellent, and the food was amazing. Did I mention how delicious the tea was too?
This tea was epic. I had a solo weekend and decided to treat myself to fancy tea and it was honestly the best tea service I’ve ever had. The staff was so friendly, the food was incredible, and the presentation was unique and delightful.
Afternoon tea was a wonderful experience. I loved the ambience of the tearoom. Great selection of tea, and the food was delicious. Child friendly too. Our servers were very attentive.
I have been to high tea at Hotel Vancouver a few tines a few years back. It was good but not outstanding. The 80th Anniversary high tea was above my expectations. The room was stunning. The atmosphere was better than any other hotel high tea I’ve been to. Much better than the Empress hotel. The food was very good. Wish there was more sandwiches and less sweets. Both the sweets and sandwiches were excellent. Very nice to have a cupcake with candle to celebrate my friends’s birthday.
Great food and service but it could be a little cozier with more mood lighting along the dark spots of the walls and on the tables rather than just spotlights above the table. It get's a little dark and shadowy.
I was there a year ago and it was amazing, especially the food. This time just soso.
High tea was delightful. The food was particularly good and plentiful. We took home almost as much as we ate. The room was nice but we agreed that we preferred a room with windows and some activity.
A lovely afternoon
Always come here for high tea, food is always great and the servers are always kind and welcoming. I like how you get a good amount of savory sandwiches because I’m always too full to finish the desserts and bring it home.
The service was great, the food abundant and delicious, we couldn't finish it all. We had a lovely Tea Time.
This was a surprise birthday treat for my daughter . All went well . Slight wait for our table to be ready but nothing to complain about . Liked that we and the other guests that there for the Tea were in a separate room from other diners . The service was really good and the servers were very attentive . It was a nice touch that her birthday was acknowledged . I've had Afternoon Teas many times before but wasn't expecting the finger food and desserts to be so filling ! There was no problem in taking the uneaten pastry treats home to enjoy later ! The food , tea , Champagne were all excellent . For special occasions I recommend it !
The sandwich selection was pretty terrible.
The only good sandwich was the chicken curry.
For $71 it was over priced and not good at all. It was very disappointing. I’ve been there before and the sandwiches were how they should be. A cucumber was not mixed with all tomatoes. The beef sandwich was like a pate. It’s too bad, I was planning on more visits, but the taste of the sandwiches were terrible.
This is an incredible place.
This was a perfect way to celebrate my moms birthday! I took my parents here, and we were amazed by the great servers, food and ambiance!
There was more than enough choice, so much so, we had to get a box to bring the sweet cakes /pastries!!
A perfect way to celebrate a wonderful afternoon
This event made my my wife’s 60th birthday very very special....it was everything and more, we will never forget it.
Thank you very much
I attended the 1pm afternoon tea with my wife on June 16. I've been thinking about our meal ever since and only now made the decision to write a review. The service was great. Our waiter was pleasant, polished, and helpful. This was our first time dining at Notch 8. Therefore, I cannot comment about the quality of the food during the lunch or dinner services. However, I can say that the quality of the food during tea service was incredibly poor, especially considering the $59 price tag per person. The sandwiches were clearly prepared early in the morning as by the time we were eating them, the bread was dry and the fillings bordered on tasteless. The pastries also did not taste fresh or flavourful and a couple (especially the macaroon) were, frankly, disgusting. Those pastries that were edible (like the Linzer cookie, not torte) were mediocre. In hindsight, I should have gone to Safeway and picked up some cookies instead. The tea was good although I was confused that only one pot of freshly brewed tea per person was allowed. Ultimately, I would not have been too upset by the whole experience had we only paid $30 per person. However, I don't think it's too much to ask for Hotel Vancouver to provide a quality meal given the total bill ended up being $143.
Meh, not worth the cost. The lights kept dimming which was weird. The food was nothing to write home about and really could have been got from Whole Foods. Sandwiches appeared to be made with Wonder bread. Just not up to snuff for the hotel and cost.
Great service, good food, nice place to go for a special occasion or just for a treat
Lovely tea. Lots of food — the tiered tray which is typical plus a treasure chest of desserts plus a special birthday dessert and an initial offering before the service. It was worth every penny. We took all our desserts home.
Very enjoyable but the room was a little cool and dark. Food was great and server excellent.
Highly recommend. Wonderful idea for the 80th birthday.
Was lots of fun! Service was great
Honestly the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The food and tea were amazing and I need to comment on the exceptional service and attentiveness of our host Serge and his team, thank you.
The ambience was lovely and so were the savoury items. However, the desserts seemed stale and dry and not nearly as delicious as you would expect, especially for the cost. Not worth the $. Great service though.
The ambience is what you're getting here. Seems like the quality of the food could been improved all things considered.
everything is just great ! food, service, environment, and the price is very fair! we really enjoyed it ♥️
Just in town for the 80th anniversary of Fairmont and the afternoon has this 80th theme as well.
Afternoon tea at Hotel Vancouver was wonderful. The portions are very generous so be prepared to take some goodies home. Our server was very professional and helpful. Highly recommend.
It's a very good experience, but too expensive to make it a regular habit. There are other, less expensive afternoon tea options in Vancouver that I think have a more sensible value proposition. That said, as an occasional extravagance, it's quite nice!
Services were good except the maître d, or say receptionist.
Very professional and the food was lovely. I don't know how anyone could eat all the deserts at the end, there was so many! I'm glad we could take them home and enjoy them later.
We went for the first seating of the new 80th Anniversary afternoon tea set and were amazing
