    We dined at The Yew Tree in Frieth. A small village pub with quite a large dining area. A decent menu, which over the years has been paired down slightly. Quite reasonable prices

    Excellent food and drink. The service was extremely slow though. We booked our table for 7.45 (8 of us), about 5 of us had starters. However, it was 9.40 before we were served with our main courses.

    The Yew Tree is our favourite pub. The staff are always very friendly and the food is delicious.

    Sunday lunch was good and the atmosphere in the restaurant area was buzzing. However the service was a let down. We waited at over half an hour for our food. One our party had ordered a dish to come without the sauce, it arrived with it and therefore had to be sent back. Once the food arrived we were never asked if we require more drinks or if we were enjoying the food. Again we felt ignored by the service team as we waited, again for what felt like far too long, to be asked if we would like to order our dessert. One of the members of our party had to ask someone to take our order. When we were served the staff were friendly. I would not say the restaurant was particularly busy, there were a number of unoccupied tables.

    The Yew Tree is a lovely country pub in a beautiful village in the Chilterns. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the food is superb. Definitely recommended

    One of the best Sunday Roasts we have ever had in a pub. It was busy and there was a wait of approx 40 mins for food but staff were friendly and attentive. Well worth the wait. Lovely atmosphere.
