Service was really bad as they did not even bother to look into the plate they are serving and got food in broken and chipped plate.

We went for lunch to celebrate my brother’s birthday and it was amazing. Tanya was attentive and guided us through the vegan options. The food was of high quality and the decor is adorable. It was a bit quiet at lunch but we went on a Tuesday after a holiday. Will definitely try this place again!

Outstanding, authentic Indian food. I am surprised that the rating on Google/ Yelp is so low. With doubt, the #1 Indian restaurant in Dallas/Plano

Favors in food were good. Best in DFW area for north Indian food. Desserts were average and has opportunity for improvement. We ordered tandoori chicken, chicken munchow soup, Suvedar chicken curry , Chicken Biryani and Shahi Tukda

I had fantastic experience on the eve of new year. I had heard a lot of bad reviews and negatives but the very first experience was very nice and the waitress was very nice. Even it was very crowded eve, she took care of us very well and will give her 5. Food was delicious. Overall we enjoyed our new year eve at Yellow Chilli.

Mandatory 20% tip (not advertised anywhere) on groups of 5.

Avoid. They don’t have much gluten free options for vegetarians. Feel like they care more about $$$ more than patronage. Avoid. Better good and quality elsewhere

Hi Mr. Shubz Chandna! Please note that the auto-grat is not only spelled out in the reservation confirmation email you received but also clearly stated on our website’s homepage. Please know that the gratuity goes to the servers that go above and beyond to make your celebrations special. The establishment does not get any of that amount. Gluten free and vegetarian are two completely independent concepts and we offer dishes that cater to patrons with both those dietary requirements/restrictions.

I was quite excited to check out Yellow Chilli, I am from an Indian origin and Sanjeev Kapur is one of the famous chefs in India so I had very high expectations but I would say was quite disappointed before I left. Ambiance and setup is like a casual dining place, not fine dining. Music playing in there was quite loud and a random assortment of music not curated to build up the environment. Servers had little to no knowledge of what they were serving and quite a bit in hurry to not take any time to answer any questions. But the worst for me was that at the time of ordering, I was told that I only have an hour to eat and get out as they have other reservations for the table. In my 25 years of eating out at a variety of places from upscale fine dining to mom and pop joints, I have never been asked to get done with my business in 1 hour and leave. As we were told to leave, we kept an eye on the empty tables and for the duration of 1 hour that we were there, at least 6 tables were empty at any given point so did not understand the point of rushing a guest when the restaurant had free tables all over. 0 stars for service all throughout. As we got the food, for most part it was middle of the road in terms of the taste and did not find anything special, so would not give more then 3 stars to it as well. Overall, I would not recommend anyone to this place. Not a value for the buck and there are plenty of restaurants around in DFW where you will find much better food with better service.

First Indian restaurant in DFW where the dishes were unique to them. Most Indian restaurants I’ve been to I can say the dishes tasted the same at every restaurant. The food at Yellow Chili were flavorful and we enjoyed every bite. I highly recommend dining here.

Food taste was good but a simple daal tadka was not as per expectations. Also noice level was not restaurant fault. Group of over enthusiastic girls was there.

Service was quick considering busy Saturday night. Place is small.

Getting reservation is recommended.

You seriously need a good chef. We ordered paneer tikka, pindi chole, bhature, gobi achari and puran chicken. Paneer tikka and chicken dish were just ok but other dishes neither had a taste or presentation. I grew up in Delhi and used to eating good food. I can assure you that if someone makes bhature like you guys do no body would ever come back. Your food quality does not do justice to your name. Your chef has absolutely no idea what a bhatura is? Don’t even want to comment on the aam panna? Hopefully, you will read my comments as an honest feedback rather than criticism. All the best to you all.

Yellow Chilli offers Indian cuisine with an interesting twist and it exceeded my expectations. The Pani Puri Vodka shots was truly innovative and fun. The Pudina Chicken appetizer was delicious and had the right level of heat. In the main course Butter Chicken was real solid but Murgh Bhuna was a pleasant surprise. I will highly recommend this restaurant for its solid as well as innovative Indian cuisine.

This review isn’t about the food - and it’s not about the service - this is about the management and the ownership. It’s about thinking that they are above the law, and can openly discriminate against people with disabilities. My daughters have a disability which the doctor recommend them to use a specific type of alkaline water for. Wherever we go they take it and we have always been accommodated (and that includes movie theaters), since disabled people are protected by law by the ADA. 30 minutes after we sat there and we got our food the manager pointed to the waitress that they have their own water and she came demanding to charge $3 per person drinking that water as - their policy. I asked for the manager and i proceeded to explain to him this is an accommodation required for their disabilities. He started yelling and was very rude - said he doesn’t have to accommodate it just like he doesn’t have to accommodate a blind person who has a service dog if he doesn’t get paperwork. I explained that they are protected bu HIPAA and it’s the law of the land for them to be accommodated. I told him to go ahead and charge the $3 and i can proceed to make the relevant complaints. He answered that he doesn’t want disabled people in his restaurant and that he was now going to have to pay the $3 out of his pocket - he kept yelling louder and louder - at this point i requested the bill ( we had only got the appetizers which was $75 the food would have put the bill way over $200). The table next to us had come to celebrate a birthday - they did not - because they told them that they wanted to charge them per person for eating the birthday cake. It’s one thing to rip people off and it’s another to be completely IMMORAL and openly discriminate against DISABLED CHILDREN and say you don’t want them in your restaurant. My children are absolutely Traumatized by what they just witnessed over them drinking their WATER!
Later the manager came back yelling again and said we hire disabled

It is our policy to not allow food & beverages from outside. We are sure you must’ve noticed it in confirmation email just like the cake fees that's spelled out. We offer alkaline, sparkling & bottled water that you can order. You mentioned your party having a “prescription for alkaline water for diabetes”. We would’ve absolutely honored it if you had presented it when asked for it. You instead chose to invite the manager for a fist fight while telling him you don't have to and won't show it.

We made a reservation in the morning. They called in the afternoon to confirm. During confirmation, they told us about several rules, we agreed. When we showed up on time for our reservation they seem to have forgotten the basic rule they have to follow, which is to have a table. They did not have a table because they did not understand the name correctly and gave our reservation to somebody else. They scrambled and gave us a table 15-20 mins late, which according to them would automatically cancel the reservation! Go figure!
The young staff have serious issues understanding and saying the names of people and dishes. For a High-End Indian restaurant, this is not right. You'll see "Shut up and Sit Down" culture all around... (look it up)!
I would not recommend this restaurant.

Thanks for visiting us, Girish! Please note that all of the restaurant policies are spelled out in the reservation confirmation email and on our website’s homepage. The phone call is to confirm your reservation and reiterate the policies so the customers aren't caught off guard. Our staff undergoes extensive training and never fail to garner compliments for their pronunciation of our menu. Please feel free to encourage them by helping them out with the correct pronunciation of your name.
