The Yard Gastropub Robinson
We had a wonderful experience for our first time at The Yard. Our server was fantastic and the food & drink delicious.
Honestly I don’t see this place lasting. It’s too expensive and the open floor plan was a bad idea. It’s too loud. They don’t have a good verity of food. Everything is expensive. It was $12.99 for a sandwich I HAVE made at home. And it tasted better. Also, they aren’t The Yard House, I’m pretty sure they get most of their business by people accidentally mistaking them for a place that accepts their gift cards.
They didn’t have the wine we wanted. The bread on the “grilled” cheese was barely grilled. While the wait staff is always good the hostess wasn’t very pleasant
Terrific service and very good pub food.
Great food and very good beer selection featuring a bunch of local beers.
Food was a bit disappointing. Beer list was great. Service was fantastic.
The hostess was very friendly, our server was great, food delicious but it was so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation!
Our food was as expected. Our server was extremely friendly in a good way.
Great food, fantastic service, but it was loud and we struggled to hear conversation around the table for four.
Everything was GREAT!!! The only issue I had was with the noise level. It was very, very, very loud. My friends and I finally could not take it anymore and left to go somewhere where we could at least hear each other. Seriously, all we kept saying to each other during dinner was, "I'm sorry, what did you say."
We went for a work lunch, and it was nowhere as good as I expected. I wouldn't go back for the food based on this experience, but would maybe try the beer selection.
Food was good, everything was an upcharge, salad instead of fries and chips upcharge....sweet potatoes fries instead of regular upcharge. The kids meal was a full size sandwich as big as an adults. Love that it comes with tomato soup to dip. Wish mine was a little warmer...it cooled off quick. We were sat by the kitchen, pretty dark on that side no lighting. Waitress was busy but gave us great service. With tip we spent $80.00 for 3 adults and 1 child. A little pricy I felt.
I had a capreese grilled cheese with soup and sweet potatoes fries
My son orderes 1lb of wings and a side of fries
My hubby had a steak grilled cheese with a salad
And our 2yr old had a grilled cheese with soup and fries (his was the beat value at 7.00....lol)
Love the Yard in Robinson. Excellent food and service
Definitely enjoyed our experience. It was a busy Friday night, but the atmosphere was nice, service was good and the food didn’t take long at all for how busy they were!
Reserved a high top table and didn’t get it, but there were plenty open
Made a reservation. Was seated next to a larger gathering of people that had gravitated to a few tables but were not seated at them. We were not at the high tops or at the bar. These individuals were just standing with their drinks and not seated - should have been in the bar area or have been seated. We were with 2 children and at the restaurant at 5pm. These people kept bumping into our chairs and swearing loudly. Common sense is not that common but really - the restaurant should manage their area as servers could not navigate through the group and they were disruptive. Anything for a buck I guess but we were spending more and would be if they were keeping return customers on appetizers, drinks (for the 2 adults), dinners and desserts if we weren't in a hurry to get out of there. We could not even hear each other at the same table due to the loudness of the group yelling behind us. When the "F-word" was dropped for the 10th time in under a minute and I turned around I was addressed as the one that was out of place. It was not 9pm on a Friday night. We were not in the bar. We were trying to have dinner at a table. The Galleria has it together. Robinson does not.
The food was good but the service and friendliness of the staff was extremely disappointing!!
Nice selection of beer. Lunch menu had a good selection.
Food & service was good. I just can’t see paying $13 for a Grilled Cheese sandwich again. Plus beers are a bit pricey (mine was $6.50 a draft). If money isn’t a issue. You might love the place. It was also really loud inside.
Great new place in Robinson. It was my first time there and it was great. Service, food and atmosphere. Great place. We will return
I’ve been to the one in market square and was not impressed, but the robinson location is by far better. I know it’s the same menu but the food was so much better.
Food and service was great.
Excellent food! Love grilled cheese sandwiches! Large selection of beers.
Don’t miss this pub
Restaurant is still working out the kinks. Service was excellent but food still needs perfected. Had to send burger back as was over cooked. Fries and target tots were undercooked. We will give it another chance as niece really likes their Shadyside location.
Very cool atmosphere. Food came fast. Kid friendly.
Andy C. was our server, he made our first experience at The Yard memorable. He talked drafts with us, was very knowledgeable and his recommendations were spot on. When I couldn’t decide between two dishes, he talked me through both their highlights. He stayed on top of all our needs during our entire experience. We tried the poutine, a Slap Yo Mama and the Mac Attack with bacon. All were good, the poutine and Slap yo Mama were delicious.
Food orders were mixed up and took a long time to straighten them out... dry sandwiches cold fries and very noisy!
Service was terrible! Took a waitress 15 minutes to even say hello and then our order was missing the soup...
I love the yard and have been to 3 other locations and the service was always exceptional.
The grilled cheese looked great... the pancakes were too thick and tasteless...blah!
The food is always good at The Yard. My favorite is the Smack Yo Mama. I'm not a big fan of tomato soup but their soup is actually good.
We arrived for our reservation and asked the hostess to seat us away from the door in the back. Before we sat down, I noticed a four-seater right next to us and asked if it would be alright for us to sit there. She replied with a quick and stern "No'. We have reservations tonight".
There was a way to say this nicely. We have been to many places that have had the response of "We have many reservations coming in this evening" or something to that effect. What happens is that many seats remain open. In this case, it was the same. There were many seats not taken. And the four-seater next to us remained unoccupied when we left.
This hostess did not smile when we arrived and looked as if she didn't want to be there. I hope this restaurant succeeds, but I know, we will never come here again.
I was blown away entirely by The Yard. My boyfriend and I each ordered sandwiches from their Hall of Fame grilled cheese selection and maintain that it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. It was amazing in every way. The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was full of energy and fun. I would go for sure again and again.
