The Yard Gastropub Mt. Lebanon Ratings and Reviews
Good place for friends and family. Energetic atmosphere. The food was good and the server, David G., was knowledgeable about the menu, cordial and attentive to our needs during the course of our service. Nice touch with the tomato soup; however, the soup was just warm, not hot. On that cold evening, hot soup would have been better.
This was our second visit and we would visit again to try another menu item.
We've visited this location in the past and had been very pleased, however this last visit was off. We were put in a side room where the TV's were too loud to have much conversation at the table. Upon asking for a different table, they moved us to a different table in the same room, one table further from the speakers. Not much of an improvement. The sandwiches were greasy. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich, the consistency was more like that of a dip, with very few pieces of chicken in it, the insides of the sandwich were mostly squished out on the plate possibly from the pressure of cutting the sandwich in half. We were taking our kids out to try The Yard for a special lunch before a family event. My husband and I had visited previously and were excited for the kids to experience it. It was a let down. Based upon the first experience, I'd try it again hoping we just came in on an off day this last time.
My friend and I met for an early lunch at The Yard on a Saturday. Our server was fantastic and explained everything to us. He said the Bloody Mary bar could be a complete lunch. Anyway, we both got sandwiches - I got a breakfast sandwich and my friend's had chicken in hers. The soup was good but I opted for a side of tots instead of chips. I got them without seasoning so maybe that's why they were a little bland. We got there at 11:30 to beat the crowd and also to be able to fit in some shopping, but by the time we left the place was busy. Such a great addition to the Galleria!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and good family food. Planned the time of our lunch so that we could leisurely sit and chat during and after our meal. We were not interfering with waiting guests. The waitstaff did not make us feel that we were rushed. Of course, we asked permission to continue to linger.
We went to the restaurant with friends and it we were not impressed. The room is large and was very drafty in fact my cocktail napkin kept blowing off my table. It was very noisy and difficult to talk. My sandwich was the buffalo chicken dip grilled cheese was too thick to eat with my hands and the bottom of the bread was soggy as the filled overflowed and the sandwich was put on top of the filling in the kitchen. I did go to the Yard in Shadyside and was very happy so I think this venue is not very good due to the layout.
I would not recommend this location to any of my friends

We were there opening night and we're very impressed with how well things were running. Our waitress was exceptional and so was the other staff we encountered. I would say half of our meal (4 of us) was great. The waitress and manager asked for our feedback and seemed to take it seriously and truly wanted to know. And for the meal we weren't happy with they apologized and removed it from the bill without question. Aside from wanting a couple other healthier options (It's a bar/restaurant specializing in grilled cheese, what do I expect) we will definitely go back soon!!!
