   Our servers were amazing and our food was incredible. Loved our whole experience so much. I was so annoying asking for things and the servers were always happy to help me. I’ve truly missed service like this.

   Food was great. However call me old-fashioned and I don't mind ordering online but it would be nice to see a menu at the table rather than having to pass the phone around so people could flick through screens to see what was on the menu. Plus it would be great not having the next table's large dogs sniffing at our plates of food. Do people really need to bring there dogs to an evening meal? It might be called the Yard but its more an indoor type eating establishment.

While we understand this may not be preferred, it does help us provide quicker service, particularly with limited staffing in our regional location, as well as allow us to be more sustainable with limiting paper usage. We recognize that not everyone may be comfortable with dogs at our venue, and we are actively reviewing how we can better manage this aspect of the experience. We’ve seen an increase in visitors and locals in Bright bringing their dogs when dining out, so we aim to accommodate where possible.    Despite being told it was booked out, there was several empty tables. We had tried to move table but we’re not allowed due to the full booking - obviously a lie. Ordering was via a QR code and so the service was just bringing food and drinks to the table. At every order on the QR code they wanted a tip, for doing what. We did the work for them. A bit rich!! Won’t be going back, ever. O

   Hi Peter. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. All our other tables were pre-booked on Saturday, with guests arriving within the next hour or so of your reservation. We allow diners a sitting of 1.5 hrs, which is why we asked you to move back to your original table. We were unable to move bookings around to accommodate you due to the size and timings of the other bookings. We wish to stick to pre-booked times, so that we do not inconvenience other guests. We appreciate you moving back to your original table so you had enough time to dine with us. You have the option to not tip via the QR code system. We hope you might reconsider and give us another go in the future. The Yard Team.

   Options on a Sunday night were minimal and all orders were done by the app. Ended up with tacos only menu and the pulled pork was dry and tasteless.

Our full menu was available on Sunday - our staff would have been happy to answer questions regarding the menu or assist you further with ordering via our QR code ordering system - we strive to offer a variety of choices for our guests to choose from.    Compared to our visit to The Yard a year ago where we found the food to be lovely, service excellent and welcoming, last night’s effort was deeply disappointing. We were dumped at the table by a very brash woman who didn’t offer to give us menus, she just directed us toward the QR code and walked away. QR codes are great if everyone knows the menu and wants to go Dutch, but we were buying the dinner as a treat for our kids and we were just left with a hollow feeling and very nearly walked out. The vegetarian selections have shrunk from being high quality, creative food to just basics of corn riblets (tasty by overcooked), loaded fries, a smattering of avocado on a large bowl of chips where you have to pay $5 for a small amount of cheese and $4 for some chopped tomato and onion (just chopped and thrown, no mingling of flavours as a true pick de gallo should have). And the pumpkin tacos were overcooked overly salted fingers of slightly too dry pumpkin that resembled 5 hour old turds at the dog park. The margaritas tasted like they were made on bottled lemon juice. Basically the great experience we were hoping for was ruined by lazy disengaged service, a moneymaking attitude with complete lack of generosity from management ($5 for a pinch of cheese is just ridiculous) and not great quality food. We were prepared to spend $400 but places that deserve that kind of money try a lot harder. We’ll go somewhere that cares about the diners next time.

We understand the QR code may not be preferred by all, and we apologise if it felt impersonal. Our goal is to streamline ordering and reduce paper waste, but physical menus are available & were provided to your table. We sorry our vegetarian options didn’t meet you’re your expectations. We aim to offer a variety of options to suit different dietary preferences, with half our offering being either vegetarian or easily adaptable. We will review these items for improvement. Regarding margaritas and extras, we value fair pricing and will reassess portions. We do encourage guests to share concerns during their visit so we can address them promptly at the time.     Good place to go if you want a relatively fresh meal. The quality is on par with what you can easily make at home. Tasty but not over the top tasty.
