Lovely old pub, good food, good ale, friendly staff, hopefully going for Christmas dinner 🤞🏻
The staff at the Woolpack were very accommodating. The food was excellent and the price very reasonable.
Will definitely be going back after this lockdown
Lovely meal, service was brilliant considering our fussiness.
Will def book again and recommend.
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. We cant wait to see you again! Many Thanks Elsie, George & The Team

The Woolpack was excellent as ever. The new autumn menu has some nice lovely new things on it and of course the staff could not be more helpful or friendly.
Hi Andy, Thank you so much for your great review. Hope we see you again soon! Many Thanks Elsie, George & The Team
Im really sorry to say the food was not good we ordered fish and chips As the main garlic bread and calamari For started portions very small
We both were sick and had stomach pain felt dizzy and unwell the next day it ruined our weekend away Both of us were unwell from the food we could not keep it down
What a real shame as the place looked very nice
Given the guidelines extremely well managed. Service ambience and food all excellent! A good evening out!
Hi Richie, Thank you for your great review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit. Best wishes Elsie, George and The Woolly Team
We stayed at the Woolpack whilst on a mini wine-tasting trip to Kent. Fantastic staff, service, food and setting. Evie was a star in explaining to us the hotel’s COVID precautions and made us feel safe, but welcome. Good was lovely and great value for money. Highly recommended!!
Hi there, Thanks for your great review, we are so pleased you enjoyed it. Best wishes Elsie, George and The Woolly Team
Excellent staff care under difficult circumstances from new distancing rules.
Pigs in blankets centre of attention.
Very good food. Best baked camembert ever according to one of us. Limited menu but coped with one of us being allergic to alcohol. Would come again if visiting Kent on holiday again!
Delicious food, friendly atmosphere and the perfect night for a cheeky escape from family life. Thank you very much, Elsie and the team. You've made a huge difference to the feel of the place. X
In the current difficult circumstances pubs, inns and restaurants deserve all the encouragement possible. So it was a pleasure to visit the Woolpack for a well cooked meal served with engaging South African friendliness at this Hush Heath outlet in Tenterden. Portions were generous, and the plaice and chicken (in a Caesar salad) produced in fine home-cooking tradition. Could the ambience be improved perhaps by the addition of slightly more cheerful surroundings? PerM
Great food and nice location drinks a bit pricy but overall good value
We are outside, the rear garden is large tables well spaced. The staff were good and fish and chips tasty. It was our first visit, we would definitely return.
We were surprised that with the worries over social distancing, that the dining room appeared unchanged. The space between the tables should have been bigger.
The burgers were good, but lacked presentation, looking rather lonely on a big plate; the desserts were disappointing with the Gypsy Tart being quiet tiny and the Eton Mess being mostly cream with a fruit sauce and hardly any meringue. Brilliant value of course with the half price deal. We like The Woolpack and will certainly be back, as we are frequent customers.
Lovely old world restaurant. Service was very good. All Covid procedures in place. Food was great. We had the pie which I can certainly recommend. Would dine here again.
Staff brilliant...chef great ..only complaint veg is an extra which I find strange .if no offer on it would be to expensive Otherwise Brilliant
Nice meal but a few niggles that would put us off going again.
We were seated in an empty bit of the bar that had no atmosphere plus it meant staff couldn’t see us so we were constantly waiting or flagging to get up to ask for anything.
The rum and raisin ice cream was not, it was vanilla and the chocolate brownie was like a brick, so dry and not served with the ice cream it says on the menu. Then at 10pm when we asked for coffees we couldn’t have them as the machine was switched off. Who switches off a coffee machine at that time when you have people eating in your restaurant?!
Fabulous food, well prepared, fresh ingredients that was cooked to perfection and presented with care. Very pleasant surroundings, great service and little touches that really made all the difference.
You know you’re in good hands when the napkins are nearly as thick as a table cloth.
It was just particular things like that that really made me feel that I had made the right choice for sunday lunch.
I will definitely visiting here again if I’m ever passing through.
Lovely friendly staff and pub garden was neat and tidy.
Nice menu and well priced :)
We decided to spend a night in Tenderden as a stay cation en route to visit the family down south. We were recommended The Woolpack by our Airbnb host and we are so glad that we decided to book here.
The staff are so friendly and accommodating, even with social distancing we felt welcomed and enjoyed the atmosphere.
I and gluten free and the manager was so kind to explain all the options to me - which were many. I had a veggie (vg) burger on a gluten free pretzel bun which was delicious! My partner had the Hush Heath cheese burger which he thoroughly enjoyed!
The team are attentive to new C-19 measures, the food presentation was Instagramable and I particularly love the cutlery and crockery.
Nice to return to the Woolly now that pubs have reopened. We weren’t sure what to expect, but received a warm welcome and a virtually normal sit-down experience. A few small changes for safety’s sake, but nothing which detracted from a lovely meal. Fantastic food, fantastic staff. Thank you!
Brilliant! I just love the Woolpack so much. The team provide such warm and thoughtful service despite the current issues, the app works really well, and the food is really good too!
Proper Sunday Roast, great service. Kid Friendly menu.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are glad you had a great Sunday lunch with us. Hopefully we will see you again soon! Elsie, George & The Team
1st meal out since reopening. Very attentive and mindful of socual distancing and cleanliness. Food lovely too.
I ate lunch at the Woolpack on Sunday. I was greeted by Elsie on my arrival, she was so lovely and put all my nerves about social distancing to ease. There were hand sanitisers available, staff maintained social distancing and there was an extremely easy app to order my food from. The staff offered their assistance with the app. The overall environment was spotless and it was clear to see that the staff were following COVID 19 cleaning regiments. The food was divine and great value for money. I would definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding for dessert! Thank you to our waitress, Evie who was very professional and welcoming. I would 100% recommend the Woolpack and look forward to returning again soon.
Hi, Thank you for your review. We are glad you felt comfortable having lunch with us in these unprecedented times. I will pass on all of your lovely comments to the whole team. The sticky toffee is a particular favorite among us! We look forward to seeing you again soon for some more. Many Thanks Elsie, George & The Team
Fabulous food, decor and service since re-launch. Had a wonderful Sunday lunch, cheerful service staff and the new manager was delightful!
The service was a little bit on the slow side but, other than that, we had a lovely family lunch here. In particular, the food was very good. I had an excellent fresh halibut with chips and mushy peas, and then a very nice apple and blackberry crumble for desert. I would definitely go back.
Dining area was good as was service however pre prepared food was under cooked and not very warm.
I judge the level of cleanliness by the toilets unfortunately the Gents toilet was the smelliest place I have been in for years they could obviously do with a good clean and get the flushing system fixed
We love this pub, on this occasion service was a little slow (for food coming out) but the staff were very friendly. Didn’t love my fish sandwich but not sure why. Food is usually lovely! Everyone else was very happy.
We had a lovely Sunday roast here last weekend. Delicious beef and lamb, portion sizes just right. I am gluten free and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Had a rowdy toddler with us and nobody minded at all! Will definitely eat here again 😀
Lovely pub, lovely location, cosy, great for kids, really relaxed...looking forward to our next visit!
Sadly having eaten here when Hush Heath took it over a couple of times I was expecting a diverse menu and good food. It failed on both. Although they deducted the mains off the bill. I won’t be going back in a hurry. Really really disappointed the standard has dropped so drastically.
We came here for a lunch, and was not disappointed. The service was brilliant and the staff were very attentive. The food was lovely and we didn’t have to wait long at all. Overall a really lovely experience.
We’ve came here a couple of times in the past but only recently started to eat here. And I’m slightly disappointed we never started eating here earlier. The food is AMAZING! The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, and the staff are very friendly. If you’re in the area on a Sunday you’ve got to stop in for a roast, it was the best! Four legged friends welcome in the front restaurant area too.
We had a birthday celebration for my husband with our children and grandchildren. We had a lovely room to ourselves. The food and service was excellent.
Bought guest from USA to what we hoped was a nice English pub and were not disappointed.
We live locally and have not eaten here for many years ..... however based on our Sunday lunch experience we will now become more regular visitors as we found the staff and food excellent
Not until the quality of the food improves. Shame because the young woman serving was very sweet and the ambiance was great. Also dog-friendly.
