The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. Much like our award-winning sister restaurant next door, The Winding Stair, we feel like we are custodians of something very special... a piece of history (James Joyce worked here, how unbelievable is that?!) and we must do it proud! Spanning over four floors and with a glorious roof terrace overlooking the River Liffey. The Woollen Mills is quintessentially Irish, local and of its locale. We want it to be an 'Eating House', a house of food, a place to grab a coffee and bun, a plate of Irish fish and chips, a place to score a casual bite befre the nearby theatres and cinemas or sit with seven courses of Irish antipasti, burrata, crab, lamb or cauliflower steak, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge with a fine bottle of red or a craft beer. We hope we do it well.

    The service was very good and the food was very tasty. Ambience is very nicely decorated. Only thing that bothered me was that my steak was a bit more than medium but the taste was amazing.

    The food was excellent and plentiful. The noise level quite high but the staff and other diners were friendly to us British and very welcoming and fun. The atmosphere was one of great enjoyment by the diners. Well worth the visit.

    Really nice meal at the Woolen Mills. The restaurant was really cosy on a wet night in Dublin. Our waiter was very attentive. We had the honey sesame chicken which was delicious. Really generous portions!

    Lovely staff & great location, but food was disappointing - overcooked bream & overly greasy gnocchi. 2 mains, 1xbottle of lowest price wine, a salad & 2xteas for €105 is too much in my opinion.

    Left a bit underwhelmed. Ordered the breakfast parts of it great however left feeling disappointed as the bacon has seen better days as it was dry & inedible. My husband ordered the Turkish eggs, they were good however portion size was small & expensive.

    Love my visits here. This past summer I had the best beet root hummus. I was sad to see it was off menus during the winter but I had the Burrata and it was just as surprising. The chef really has a way with flavors. It’s a must hit location!

    Ate here on New Years Eve, a great spot in the city within walking distance of a music venue we were going to afterwards. There was a reduced menu for NYE which is understandable, but there was still a nice variety and the quality of the food was also still very good. The service was excellent and even as it got busier we were still looked after. The restaurant itself is lovely and even up on the roofed terrace the decor was nice and warm. No trouble at all with this reservation, even after I had to make a small adjustment the morning of. Will certainly be back for another visit!

    We were seated at the second floor, although we were not near the windows the view towards the river was very nice. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The waiters were in a bit of a hurry to clear out our plates which was a bit strange for us.

    Definitely overpriced. Food was it nothing special, especially when compared with its price. We were given a table in the ground floor. A relatively darkish place. Nothing compared to the photos in the restaurant’s website. You can find definitely better, tastier and more value for money places in Dublin.

    Myself and my family went here for Christmas Eve and got the set menu- 2 courses. It was really nice, the staff were attentive and pleasant and the food was great. Would defo recommend if you’re in around town for a bite to eat
