About this restaurant

The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. Much like our award-winning sister restaurant next door, The Winding Stair, we feel like we are custodians of something very special... a piece of history (James Joyce worked here, how unbelievable is that?!) and we must do it proud! Spanning over four floors and with a glorious roof terrace overlooking the River Liffey. The Woollen Mills is quintessentially Irish, local and of its locale. We want it to be an 'Eating House', a house of food, a place to grab a coffee and bun, a plate of Irish fish and chips, a place to score a casual bite befre the nearby theatres and cinemas or sit with seven courses of Irish antipasti, burrata, crab, lamb or cauliflower steak, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge with a fine bottle of red or a craft beer. We hope we do it well.

                                                Lovely food. We had a great breakfast. Very good service. Great views and very lively. Very friendly staff and prices were reasonable. A very good experience for us.

                                                Wonderful meal. I had the roast chicken which was delicious and my husband raved about the lamb gnocchi. Loved watching the meals being plated as well. I will definitely return the next time I am in Dublin.

                                                Very friendly service and nice ambience. Found the room quite cold and kept my coat over my shoulders for the entire time. The food was fine, nothing special, but nothing erong with it. I was shocked at the bill, which came to €84 (service of about €7 was included) for lunch for 2 - 2 sandwiches, 2 sides of fries, 2 bottles of beer and 2 small draught beers and 2 coffees. Maybe I'm out of touch with Dublin prices, but I thought €42 per person for a weekday sandwich lunch with 2 beers and a coffee was crazy.
