   We frequent this restaurant anytime we are in the area and it is usually lovely (hence the reason we go back) We decided to have an early dinner yesterday, so I reserved our table for 4pm (we usually go in the evening!) We were shown to our table by a lovely waitress who sat us down and brought us a jug of water and two glasses filled with ice and lemon, so refreshing after our walk in from the caravan site! She then asked if we'd like to order drinks, which we did! We sat for a wee while waiting for our drinks when the manager came over and took our food order! The menu was very sparse and I noticed it was also rather expensive! Anyways my husband and I ordered and we sat and waited on our food! The manager as always came over once or twice and asked if our drinks and wine were OK? We talked about the weather etc then our food came! It was served by our waitress who asked if we'd like sauces, vinegar etc then told us to enjoy! We ate and a young guy came and took away our plates at the end! We still had half a bottle of wine to drink so we sat and enjoyed that, the manager asked if we'd like the dessert menu (we declined as we were feeling full) we then asked the young waiter for our bill and before he handed it to us he said would you like to leave a tip? (We normally do but at our own discretion not because we're asked) my husband didn't like this so he pressed 'no' the young guy's attitude changed immediately, we could tell he was not pleased at our decision he stiffly said 'enjoy the rest of your evening' we finished up and got up to leave, no thankyou or bye was said! My husband decided to go to the loo before we set off and the waiter went in in front of my husband he just let the door go in my husbands face (charming) I suppose we should have left a tip after all! We will go back but possibly at night as it seems to be the best time to go!

   Sunday lunch was perfect Really lovely Everything hmFor d looked and tasted delicious Service during meal great One hiccup hence 4 stars Challenges with payment machine ….. Maybe take cash when you go save any hassle

   We have been here several times for Sunday lunch and the Sunday roast wasn’t quite up to its usual standard. The cauliflower cheese was grey underneath and not as cheesy sauce as usual. Some of the roast beef was a wee bit chewier than it has been before. The starters were tasty and the desserts were delicious. The serving staff could do with more training I particular regarding stretching over people to reach when they could have come round the person.

   Our experience on the whole was very good but our food, although beautifully presented could have been more flavourful.

   As always, the Woodside was incredible. The Steak and Haggis Pie is such a welcome addition to the menu, the staff are attentive and friendly. Keep doing what you're doing!

   Lovely restaurant in a beautiful countryside. I’ve been there twice, staff are very god, service can be a bit slow, but it’s a nice place so not a problem. Hopefully they change their menu occasionally!

   Very friendly, great location and very good service. We were lucky that it was a nice day and could eat outside which was great. Starters of Haggis Pakora and fish and chips were lovely

   Excellent menu, Food superb and staff brilliant. Would certainly recommend. We ate here two nights it was that good.

    We had a lovely dinner (and stay!). Food was good and it was quiet which was lovely. Staff were great.
