Quality of food really poor compared to what it use to be. My wife ordered the beef and couldn’t eat it. Food was super quick, and it was clear all pre cooked and wasn’t fresh. Staff are friendly, but we had to find our own table, get our own knives and forks and sauces as well as order at the bar. I understand the challenges with modern hospitality but premium price for self service is not great. Given the price I’d would have expected better, sad this was a birthday meal and was a big disappointment.

Hi Matt, Thank you for choosing to dine with us on Sunday, it is a real shame to hear it didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we don't offer table service in our outdoor areas, but will have had a member of our team out there to help with any issues you faced finding a table or the issues you mentioned regarding your food. Our team can provide full tables service in the main restaurant & bar area if you visit again. You're right though, we don't cook each individual Sunday lunch fresh. Our meats are slow cooked early morning and throughout the in day, and then sliced to serve. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience, but always do strive for better, so we do hope you return!

Overall the experience was average for £85 for 2 adult and 2 children dinners . Staff were attentive and nothing was a issue however the food came within 2 minutes of ordering which was luke warm to say the best the food was obviously pre-plated for service the lamb was dry and fatty the brisket was soft. The cauliflower was pretty much raw with cheese on the top however it did taste nice apart from the raw cauliflower

The weather was a little unpredictable and we had asked to change to indoor seating which wasn't a problem but when we turned up the weather was lovely and again it wasn't an issue to stock with our original outdoor seats. The dogs were also more than welcome. Service was brilliant and very efficient. Food was top notch and very good value for money.

Sadly so so different to my Sunday dinner here a year ago. The award winning meat pie must have got an award for least meat...apparently it was beef but I got gravy lots of mushroom a tiny bit of meat for £19 , pretty terrible really

Beautiful restaurant and lovely food. Kids chicken goujons are too spicy for our kids but plenty of other choices. Roast dinners are great and always a friendly service.

My partner and I came here for Sunday Lunch. We asked for a table for two away from large groups of people and families. When we arrived we were told this was noted and we were taken to a table in a far corner. We were happy with this initially but after a few minutes after being seated, a family came in a few tables back and they had loud kids. Now I'm not an old grump and I understand there are only so many tables available but one of the kids started screaming. A parent then thought it best to remove the child from the equation and moved to sit directly behind my partner and I. The baby settled initially but a few moments later started crying and screaming again, this is when I became cross as my partner and I rarely get out, so when we do, there's nothing worse than a screaming baby to ruin it. The baby then proceeded to continually throw her ball across the floor and it's beggars belief why her mother didn't have the sense to stop retrieving it and giving her it back. I appreciate this is out of the staffs hands but it is a valid point to note that with establishments like this, these things can and often will happen. On a lighter note, the service was exceptional as was the food. I had a broccoli soup starter which was amazing and my partner had the bruschetta, which she loved. I had the beef for mains, which there was plenty of and my partner had chicken quorn, which she also enjoyed. The only downside for me was a burnt yorkshire pudding! I had a couple of pints of Madri which was spot on but ridiculous at £6.10 a pint! Although I do appreciate that prices may be a bit higher to pay the many and exceptional staff they have. If I remember, x2 starters, x2 mains, x2 pints of Madri and a Coke came to £64, which is about £5-£10 more expensive than average. To conclude: Great: - Attentive staff - The choice and quality of the food - Lovely decor - Would definitely go back Needs improvement: - Price - Privacy areas - Access to car park riddled with pot holes.
